— Gabriel Malor All the news we were too busy to bring you in one easy post.
GOP governors are going around their Democratic attorney generals to sue the federal government over Obama's intended destruction of the best healthcare system in the world. Governors Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, Jan Brewer of Arizona, and Jim Gibbons of Nevada are all getting into the act.
Also on that front, several states are pulling together legislation to prohibit abortion coverage in health plans under the bill. Tennessee, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas and Arizona are working on bills for that.
Recent polls that caught my eye: 31% still think Bush is to blame for the economy. Democrats in Congress were blamed by 16%, while President Obama was blamed by 14%.
And a record low 28% believe that Congress should be reelected.
Finally, in the "makes you go 'huh'" department, non-shoebombing dunderhead Al Modadi was on his way to Denver to meet with convicted Al Qaeda agent Ali Al-Marri.
This is an open thread; all topics welcome.

That's probably because the CRA has not been repealed and no one in the GOP leadership has ever really spoken about repealing it. The GOP leadership acts as if the CRA doesn't even exist, and has acted that way since the credit crisis hit.
With leadership like this refusing to hit the bullseye right in front of their faces, what can be expected.
Meanwhile, the lunatic left never had any problems pushing their America-hating idiocy, as Maxine Waters interrogated Bernanke about making sure that minority and women-owned businesses got a piece of the huge pie managing the toxic assets that TARP was supposed to buy. (Of course, TARP never went to buying any toxic assets, at all, but this was in the original house hearings, when the big lie about TARP was being accepted by the idiots).
Of course, the fact that Bawney Fwank and Chris Dodderhead are not in jail is clear proof that the mess of the credit crisis has not been handled by anyone. So ... America continues to not have a clue as to what happened.

There is a function here of leftist group think also going on too.
Somewhere around 30% of the populace will parrot whatever the leftist line is.
So, you get conservatives to talk about the current recession and you will get a discussion of the real levels of blame for Clinton, the congressional Democrats (and Barney Frank in particular), the crooks at Fannie Mae, incompetence in the banks, social degradation in terms of honor and responsibility, and yes even Bush.
Get leftists together though and they will blame Bush and move on to how the government can and should force the banks to make more bad loans to people who aren't going to pay them back...

one of the big lib talking points is that Clinton left w/ a 66% approval rating and how evil Bush left w/ a 34% approval rating, yet they never mentioned that when asked to describe the President in one or two words 67% said "liar" about Clinton and 53% said "Good Man" with Dubya, and as far as favorables, Clinton left w/ a 33% favorable and a 53% favorable for Dubya, in other words: people rather hang with Dubya and like him more, they just think Clinton did a better job

After his idiotic babblings about how Israeli settlement activity is the cause of arab aggression and violence (though that has been a hallmark of arab cultures since time immemorial) I have less than no faith in Petraeus. As far as I am concerned, he is a major problem. He bought off some arabs for a little while ... big deal, anyone can do that. But, for him to come out with that absurd crap - which does nothing but whet the appetite for more aggression and violence from the arabs, is just beyond ridiculous.
If Petreaus wants to suck The Precedent's ass, then he could have found some less stupid ways of doing it. Either he believes what he said (which makes him an idiot) or that is his idea of politicking (which makes him an idiot).

This is one reason among many why I say liberals in the media are the greatest threat to freedom this country has ever faced. They control access to the bulk of what the public gets to hear, and therefore they steer public opinion.

Gabe, you are better than this, regardless of the trend to injure proper grammar. For those would-be revisionists, when moving from one to many, it is the attorneys who are plural, not the general(s). No points will be taken this time.

Watched CBS News this evening. LOL unintentionally stupidly funny. Start with the Obama tongue bath about the treaty with the Russians "that the Senate most likely will approve." What a great thing now that the Cold War is over. One big happy family.
Next story. Some change of govt/coup in one of the Whackystans. The Newbies want to close down the US airbase that is supporting us in Afghanistan, aka "the most important front on the war on manmade disasters." So same day we make nicey-nice with the Ruskies in Prague, they're screwing us somewhere else.
This Obama is a master negotiator.

As Gateway pundit shows, Obama was a raving anti-war nut in college to. The following is a link to a paper he wrote while in college.

But he really needs to modify his approach. Otherwise, no primary win for my preferred putative candidate ;-(
