I look at the US today and wrack my brains as to how someone might think we are stronger post-9/11 than we were pre-9/11. I'm going to need some help with this one...

Oh that's easy. If you're an Obama supporter, the US is stronger just because Teleprompter Jesus is in charge.

We have "health care"[sic] now. No one had any before Obama snapped his fingers and bestowed it upon us, remember?

The Gap, Inc. wants community colleges to train students for retail sales?
I'd heard of high tech companies working with local community tech colleges to train/place tech grads. That made sense, and didn't involve Obama.

That's almost funny, Trump for Potus. I remember he supported McCain's run.
Too bad he's gone through bankruptcy so frequently. But then, by 2012, what percentage of American voters will share that in common with Trump?
Two things would be certain. Trump's adult children would make an impressive first family in the White House. And Trump wouldn't hold back firing any ineffective staff, replacing whoever can't perform well. He certainly has immense experience selecting those who perform well and take criticism well towards improving.

It's obvious who's getting the kickbacks, profits and tax breaks for training America to stay stuck on stupid.
Posted by: maverick muse at October 05, 2010 04:53 AM (H+LJc)
If we do get hit again, is this going to be his message to the families of the slain? That their loss is going to make us all stronger?

He strikes me as too full of bluster, and not thoughtful enough to be a successful president. Although...given his predecessor (if he wins), the bar is so low that a trained monkey would do better.

Funny. But likely, Trump would make a great campaign manager, and possibly even a good Secretary of Labor if that's what the cabinet position will still be called, given that Labor equates to Marxism now. Perhaps the title would become Secretary of Production.

I haven't sat and really thought about the community college investment trend (the general trend, not just this particular program/boondoggle), but I find it interesting to hear that it has bi-partisan support. Here in Utah it's being talked about a lot. That fact alone has me thinking it's worth mulling over.
The part that has me confused is why the Feds need to be involved in the community college system.

In Berlin, I saw some smelly people handing out pamphlets under a poster of Obama in a Christ the Redeemer pose. I have no idea what they were selling, since my travel companion saw where I was looking and frogmarched me the opposite direction. *snicker*

A good thing there was a person in the WH who had our value system ingrained in his philosophy. That, and the gross underestimation of al qaeda about the response.
IMHO, those two things, plus the unrelenting prosecution of the WOT, have kept us relatively safe during the following years. Given the current position that Nobama&co. hold, the odds of another swipe at us is increasing. Because of the aforementioned response, etc, al qaeda's ability to repeat 9-11 has been drastically lessened, if not eliminated, so there's that.
But they ARE gonna try something, our response with Nobama at the helm leaves me uneasy as hell. Don't want to see it.

You've gotta love the closing quote:
"We're very pleased that President Obama can be recognized for his economic policies' contributions to the food stamps program," said the Secretary of Agriculture.
Is that something like: ...what we can't make up on the profit margin, we can make up on volume...?
Posted by: NM Hick at October 05, 2010 05:54 AM (IzuWw)
No one's fooled.
He was willing to support McCain against the tide of public opinion rather than fall in line with the Obamanots. Perhaps he was all for the illegal alien amnesty rather than law enforcement and secure borders, inconveniences in power plays. Regardless, his feud with Rosie O'Donnell is fun. "I love it when bad people fail." He claims in that clip that though Rosie said Trump went bankrupt, that he has never gone bankrupt. Hm

Community colleges are public institutions, and as such are full of union members (janitors, teachers, secretaries, etc). In big states like Illinois, there are community colleges everywhere, and they are taxpayer supported institutions.
Watch for Jill Biden (who is on TV today touting community colleges, and who herself teachers at a cc) to start making the case that not everybody can go to a 4-year school, but everybody can go to a 2-year school to get job training. Getting a 2-year associates degree will become the new high school diploma. Just watch.
