12 Posted by: Shoppy at October 15, 2010 08:38 AM (u2rWt) I've heard tell that a few years ago, an archaeological expedition in the northern part of Saudi Arabia made some discoveries that showed a significant portion of the Arabian Peninsula was actually part of the ancient kingdom of Israel. The archaeologists were quickly kicked out of the country and the king had the dig completely destroyed and the site declared off limits. Just a few lousy hundred miles or so and the official language of Europe would've been Yiddish.

Never trust a PPP poll.  Might as well have been done by the DNC.

All Raese needs to do is remind the WV voters that Manchin is a DEMOCRAT and that the donkeys in congress voted for cap and tax.  Manchin may talk tough now but will be a Democrat poodle voting for their agenda when he hits DC.

Ed, they have dual flushers in the Portland, OR airport. I know, shocking. /sarc. If I remember right, if you pee, you lift up on the flusher. If you poop, you push down the flusher. 74 My first thought upon seeing Obama's "tribal attitudes" comment was that he could blow it out his ass sideways.

My second thought was to wonder what the hell my tribe is so that I could adopt the attitude proper to my tribe - you know, good ol' fashioned identity politics?

It took about 1.5 seconds to realize, "I'm an American - that's my tribe, and what I need to think about the current situation in America is that Obama and the democRAT politicians need to be voted the hell out of office."

I hope that's tribal enough for ya.

Don't you just hate it when people confuse "in" and "out" orifices?

Think of all the chaos that would ensue if people confused the same sort of thing during everyday life.

For years, I worked in a building with a revolving door. You wouldn't believe how many people have trouble using them and/or are afraid to get into them.

Use this as a metaphor at your own risk...

Had no idea that they were the welfare state that they are.  I wonder if she will address the fact that people are leaving the state in record numbers.

207 The MFM is going to go all out in the next few weeks to try to depress the wave, giving false polls, making up stories, doing anything they can to make it appear that the dems are making a come-back.  Do NOT Buy into It.

Alaska polls are notoriously difficult due to geography.  Miller was supposedly way down to Murky.

Do you really think that the WV voters all of sudden believe that manchin won't be a rubber stamp for Odipstick, because he held a rifle in a commercial?

Keep the faith, kick some butt, be the wave.

208 "If this was going to be some gigantic watershed election for the GOP, there would be some "wow" Senate polls coming out now, only a few weeks from election day.  Instead, what do we get?  WV solidifying for the Dem.  The Dem ahead in WA.  The Dem ahead in CA.  The Dem ahead by double digits in CT.  And Rasmussen just came out showing Jerry Brown up 6 in the CA Gov race.  If there was a wave building, it pooped out."

If the world was made up of eeyore's like you, humanity would have already died out.

The latest poll from Rasmussen in WV shows Rease 3 points ahead. Keep in mind this is West Virginia, where democrats out number Republicans 2 to 1. Also, Manchin is one of the most popular governors in the country. This race should never have even been close. The polls showing Manchin ahead is the PPP poll - which Jay Cost said had a ridiculously high democratic turnout (higher than 08'), and a DCCC poll which is useless. The one that came out today was from a university, again, useless.

Rossi is either in the margin of error or ahead in Washington, a democratic state against a long time incumbent. Again, any normal year and we wouldn't have a chance. And do I even need to explain how rare it is for a republican to be in near virtual tie in California against a long term incumbent? And the latest Fox/Ras poll show's McMahon closing the gap. And all this doesn't include the fact that the enthusiasm gap is astonishly huge. The democrats are demoralized and the independents who are most likely to vote are ones who are pissed at the democratic agenda.

I'm so sick of conservatives who whine and cry and give up every time a poll comes out that's not in their favor.

209 Tom Cruise to star in Top Gun 2? There's two kinds of sequels. The first kind is the movie series, trying to milk every last dollar out of a franchise (The Matrix, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars Prequels) And the other kind. Designed to bolster an aging star, director or even franchise's career if they are in the dumps.. (Wall Street 2, Oliver Stone.. Basic Instinct 2, Sharon Stone.. Top Gun 2. . . The Batman reboot was done rather successfully. The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas, not so much )

I think Palin's taking this endorsement personally.  She had two folks from her organization coaching COD in debate prep.  I don't know whether it was a smart move or not, but I saw COD on camera saying she's not only battling the dem machine but the NRSC machine too.  She said the GOP had yet to give her any backing.  I'm guessing that's making Palin want to poke a finger in their collective eye even moreso than usual.

First off, if you consider the fact that Merkin lost her primary fair and square and said she would not run if she lost, she's illegitimate from the get-go.  Not saying Ras is a bad survey outfit, on the contrary, they're considered the gold standard for their 2008 prez numbers.  BUT, when the commenter pointed out the difference of the script mentioning her or not mentioning her, that's where the discrepancy came from.
