In 2005, the Department of Defense announced the Future Combat System program. (See “Army’s ‘Future Combat System’ calls for autonomous robot soldiers by 2014.”)
Samsung has a 2007 promotional video for heavily armed robot sentries being considered by the South Koreans to guard the North Korean border. The robot would have the ability to detect intruders, give verbal warnings, interpret voiced responses, and fire if necessary.

LOL, Fox says Obama will campaign on his "record" at the same time he says he is a Washington "outsider". Logic doesn't appear to be one of his strong points.
I guess that goes along with the sidebar headline for not expecting him to self-destruct.
My take is the Dems will vote for him regardless of what he does. As always, it will depend on the GOTV effort. Blue States with a heavy union presence will have a large Dem turnout and he will take the blue States.
The key will be Republican turnout in the States that are red or pink and who went blue in 2008 because the base stayed at home. If the base turns out there Obama will narrowly lose. If the base stays at home he will win again.

Multiculturalism vs. Morality and National Survival
By Pieder Beeli @ American Thinker
the U.S. government has adopted an a priori "Islam is good" hypothesis...and runs with it.
But not just political theory is overthrown by multiculturalism; mathematics is, too. Given that Muslims constitute around 20% of the global population and that 27 of the 28 FBI most wanted terrorists are foreign Muslims, mathematically, Muslims are -- by very conservative estimates -- over one hundred times more likely to commit an act of terror against the U.S. than are non-Muslims. But the equipoise nature of multiculturalism apparently operates on a higher level of mathematics, enabling Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to say in the wake of the Fort Hood massacre that Nidal Hasan "does not, obviously, represent the Muslim faith."
Political theory, mathematics, and yes, even war are hijacked by multiculturalism. Citing that one does not war against a tactic, but an ideology, the Obama administration wisely criticized the Bush administration for the label "War on Terror." But in saying "our enemies are al Qaeda and their allies who are trying to kill us," Obama replaces the tactic of "terror" with the tactic of "killing." Whereas Bush led the quixotic "War on Terror," Obama leads the quixotic "War on Killing."
The Obama White house forwarded that the ideological objective in "al Qaeda's case is global domination by an Islamic caliphate." But isn't this objective shared by most countries of the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)? For that matter, isn't it the objective of the U.N. to provide some sort of supranational political domination to achieve their ends? How, then, is it that when al-Qaeda pursues the end of a global caliphate, al-Qaeda is bad, but when the OIC attempt to do so, the Obama administration assists them?
According the DHS report, "Rightwing extremism in the United States ... reject
The Obama administration has no objective ideological criterion by which it distinguishes al-Qaeda and the Taliban from any other organization. But identifying and attacking the ideology of your opponent is the first and primary task of war. The administration's clearest statement of ideological warfare has been against the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.

Luckily though there are no sidewalks in my rural neighborhood.

(This is not a slight. I think it kind of a rare skill, in fact.)
Why are BloggingHeadsTV episodes generally so unwatchable? Well, first off, if we wanted to watch TV, weÂ’d be watching TV, not reading blogs. People who read blogs do so because they prefer reading to watching TV. The spoken word is seldom more than 150 words per minute, and fluent readers can read much faster than that, so that the experience of watching writers talk is much less satisfactory than reading what they write.
Simple, factual observation.
True though...

A push mower just wouldn't get it done here. A few years ago my wife went out to TX to visit relatives and the house was left empty during the day while I was at work.
I went to get the mower to mow and it was missing. Someone had stolen it while we were gone. Rather than go down any buy another tractor I asked grandsons if they wanted to make some money during the Summer they said yes.
Went out bought a push mower. They mowed one time. Their problem? Would not get up earlier than noon and by then in July it is high 90s. I wound up mowing with the push mower. Mowing 1.5 acres in 90° weather is no fun when you are not 16 years old.
The next Summer I was back to the tractor. Besides, the new ones have a beer holder and I have headphones that will take an MP3 player.

Heard some twink on F&F this morning saying that global warming caused more moisture in the atmosphere, and therefore the increased snowfall. The fact that water vaor is the largest greenhouse gas, by far, didn't slow her down, as she focused solely on CO2. I was a marvelous rant

Sorry, it's not homophobia. No one buys an openly gay man as a romantic (hetero) lead or even as an action hero. Seriously, would you try to cast Denzel Washington as Abraham Lincoln? It's not believable, even though Denzel is a good actor.
If an actor wants to be openly gay, fine, but he can expect to be stereotyped.

Good morning, all! Yesterday was ridiculous here in NH. Snow I can take, wind I can take, but I hate whiteout conditions. Call me crazy, but I like being able to see when i drive. The snowdrifts were waist high in front of our door by yesterday afternoon, and knee high on the back deck. If it had just been the snow the blizzard would have been pretty ho-hum, to be honest; it was the wind that made it miserable!
Anyway, I clicked on the "Google Zeitgeist" banner ad that I saw on one of the AoSHQ articles and just spent a few minutes perusing the top searches of 2010. I don't know why I found this interesting, but check out the top searches in the Seattle, WA, area:
Seattle, WAorca card
bellevue college
unemployment washington
amazon fresh
lincoln square cinemas
komo 4 weather
dshs washington
sounders
dol.wa.gov
pagliacci pizza
I just find it intriguing that 30% of the top ten searches in liberal bastion Seattle last year were related to (un)employment and welfare programs (DSHS is "Department of Social and Health Services," aka food stamps, welfare, WIC, etc). Now, I have no idea what the raw numbers were, but still, interesting.
Just for comparison, here are poor, woebegone Detroit's top ten searches. I find it interesting that not one, but TWO county jails feature so prominently:
Detroit, MI
robinettes grand rapids
celebration cinema north
artprize
span wcpss
access kent
muskegon county jail
rivertown crossings mall
wcccd
kent county jail
john ball zoo

Consumer confidence slipped this month as more people worried that the job market is worsening.
The latest survey from Conference Board showed a decline even after people increased their holiday spending at the biggest rate in four years.
The private research group said Tuesday its Consumer Confidence Index fell to 52.5 in December, down from a revised 54.3 in November. Economists were expecting 55.8.Oh no! How can this be in Barry's workers' paradise. These must be the same economists who are surprised every time unemployment goes up

At least four of those search terms (the two jails, "'robinettes grand rapids" and "access kent") refer to locations on the opposite side of the state from Detroit.

I've noticed that even supermarkets are now cutting back on their inventories, rationing and offering fewer selections on their shelves. What's up with that?
Are the MSM and other Democrats going to blame that on Bush, too? That development is a disturbing indicator that there is more bad stuff going on than the sleazy dummies in the MSM have been able to discern, or that they're willing to reveal, presumably to cover for this bumbling administration which those damned fools put into office..
