5 Still have a disc to go, but we've been watching Netflix "The Pacific" HBO miniseries.

The writers/editors hadn't the guts to tell the hero's REAL citations, as if men like John Basilone, Guadalcanal Congressional Medal of Honor living recipient and Iwo Jima Navy Cross posthumous recipient, never were AS THEY WERE. Instead, the show's producers denigrate the hero, as if we don't know that everyone is human, and finally rather than simply more abbreviation, they altered history, showed him being shot in the back and killed by friendly fire before even accomplishing what miracles he performed in that re-enlistment field of duty in battle. Give the hero his due by showing what he actually did.

I wouldn't have known, but my better half looked him up. No surprise, given that Tom Hanks despised the greatest generation as racist pigs.

Even on merit of storytelling, the series is incongruous, hopping about without cohesion in order to "prove" the degenerate futility of that Pacific War.  Hollywood is Judas.

Record cold hitting SC this week. Do the Dem PR rags decry the AGW scam? Of course not. They whine for more socialism because its cold. You see, to a Dem ANY weather requires a larger push for communism.

Midlands cold hits homeless, zoo goers

Looks like my house will bottom out at 13.1°F this morning.

I'm stuck with Canadian bing at work.  Just pictures of old city buildings. Probably people inside eating croissants, talking about beavers and VD.

13 WikiLeaks cables: Barack Obama is a bigger danger

WikiLeaks harms the US. But the president's refusal to acknowledge the threats we face is a bigger danger

By John Bolton @ uk guardian

/not to mention the president's audacity to declare war on the American citizens.

14 That probably would have been interesting if there was actually a document to see and not just the long version of what you said.

Not sure I understand what you are saying?

16 Here you had me looking forward to a scan/picture/text of it and all I get is a "we're showing it here"...

OK, not very big but

http://tinyurl.com/3yu44na

Most of the space on the page is taken up with signatures anyway. Here is the actual text:

AN ORDINANCE to dissolve the union between the State of South Carolina and other States united with her under the compact entitled "The Constitution of the United States of America."
We, the people of the State of South Carolina, in convention assembled, do declare and ordain, and it is hereby declared and ordained,
That the ordinance adopted by us in convention on the twenty-third day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified, and also all acts and parts of acts of the General Assembly of this State ratifying amendments of the said Constitution, are hereby repealed; and that the union now subsisting between South Carolina and other States, under the name of the "United States of America," is hereby dissolved.
Done at Charleston the twentieth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty.

17 Fox is making such a big deal over WikiBastard being arrested in the UK.

"He is facing serious charges".

What BS. He is guilty of massive law violations and he charged with not using a rubber.

19 #25  Vic,  I am glad Bolton wrote that article in the UK Guardian (link at # 17).

I find it very disquieting that Obama is sort of ignoring Assange except for a few stupid comments by Gibbs.

Since I operate on the theory that he never does anything good for the country (wanting to destroy the nation and see us wandering the landscape,  barefoot and in rags,  fighting for scraps with the dogs) I have to think that this release of documents is really a bad thing,  and that the best we can say is that he is passively allowing it to continue.

The worst is that he had some of his minions orchestrate it.

21 If any of you big corporate bigwigs are reading Ace today I have a question for you.

Why are you still advertising how much you are developing strategies to combat Globull Warming?

It has been proven as a fraud now and the public is no longer buying, if it ever did.

Feel free to respond.

Miss Marple

It isn't America's well being that concerns Obama, but only himself.

He has always been a very bitter, incompetent and vindictive person.

But should he "do something" about Assange's audacity, it will be to destroy the 1st Amendment.

AP recycles story on Jerusalem and elicits 100,000+ antisemitic comments.  Time for another OIC/UN (and US, ugh) resolution on 'Islamophobia.'

Speaking of 'stolen land,' I think it's time the Saudis gave their land back to the Jews.  I read in the Quran and ahadith that Muhammed stole it from the Jews and even beheaded the men and boys of Quraysh tribe.  End the Saudi occupation of Jewish land!

32 NYC Taxi Drivers Urged to Use Racial Profiling in Passenger Pickups   I bet Sharpton and Jackson are losing their minds trying to figure out how to show outrage over this.  "It's coming from a UNION, and the guy making the recommendation is Hispanic with a black father!  What can we call him?  Uncle Tom Beaner?  Is that insulting enough?  Quick, get Carlos Mencia on the phone.  Find out what a quality racial slur for this guy would be."    If not for the fact that people getting hurt is what prompted this headline, I'd find it absolutely hilarious.
