— Open Blogger Just in case Gabe's in an l-tryptophan induced coma, here's a new thread to comment on until Dave puts up a cheerleader*.
This choice little nugget from the Obamacare story I linked should get you started:
Moreover, the e-mail said: “We would ask that you not broadcast this accomplishment out to any of your lists, even if they are ‘supporters’ — e-mails can too easily be forwarded.”The e-mail continued: “Thus far, it seems that no press or blogs have discovered it, but we will be keeping a close watch and may be calling on you if we need a rapid, targeted response. The longer this goes unnoticed, the better our chances of keeping it.”
In the interview, Mr. Blumenauer said, “Lies can go viral if people use them for political purposes.”
Sounds like he's describing a feature, not a bug.

As the saying goes: There's just enough of me, and too many of you.

Right. Because that's the only reason conservatives would balk at the government helping people snuff themselves, because Teh Sarah said so. If she had never existed I would still find the idea repugnant, for religious and moral reasons. Jackass.

It strikes me that not only do we have government by fiat, we also have FIAT by government.
At this rate, it can't be long until the government collapses into a black hole.

Yep, been saying this for awhile.
People who voted for him (who wouldn't normally vote that way) are dying to give him a pass. Despite the occasional negative story about him, the MFM is still behind him 100%. Anyone who thinks he's even close to being dead in the water is fooling themselves.

Doing my part.

"...this new missive seems to have been lifted... from an earlier effort on the part of the VA, written by "Dr. Robert Pearlman ... a man who in 1996 advocated for physician-assisted suicide in Vacco v. Quill before the U.S. Supreme Court and is known for his support of health-care rationing."

Here is my question: who are you to decide? There are lots of people with varying disabilities and chronic illnesses, some of whom are very young.
And Dick Cheney, even with his failing heart, is a pretty useful guy. You want to just give him a pain pill and tell him to go wait for death?
I do not like turning these decisions over to the government, because once they acquire the power to make these decisions, they will keep expanding their area of control. It is not a good idea.
