— Gabriel Malor Good morning. This space is for commentary on the Top Headlines in the sidebar at the right.
Also, updated whip count will be out this evening, but early-morning news out of Massachusetts is that Steven Lynch was on Jim and Margery on WTKK 96.9 saying he's a "no" and that's "not likely to change." This is another unexpected turn, as nobody (including me) had him as a potential flip from "yes" to "no."
Other news out of Massachusetts show "yes" votes Dina Titus, Michael Capuano, and John Tierney all saying that they are now undecided. Once again, I had all three as "Definite Yes" votes for Pelosi based on their prior statements.
Thanks to David, Josh, and enoxo.

Keep up the whip counts, Gabe. They let us sound a little less moronic, if that's possible.
How about Bret Baier ripping The Vapid One© a new one? That was a great interview. Talk about having a battle of wits with an unarmed man, that was it.

So if you are un-employed in Georgia, they want to make you pass a drug test in order to keep getting money from the government...and if you fail, lose such benefits.
Anyone want to bet about the increase in crime rates if that passes?

I don't have a TV at home, so I have the radio on a lot.
Jerry Doyle has a great talk show, in the Wilmington DE market - 1150 AM. 10 p.m.
He used to be Republican, now calls himself an Independent Conservative, and his commentary is spot on. Last night he had on Rep. Boehner. Boehner is not all that optimistic that Pelousy has the votes. When Doyle pressed him on a timeline, of how much longer we concerned citizens have to apply the pressure, he said 3 - 4 days.
Then later in the night I heard George Noury and Alex Jones discussing this Health non-Care non-Reform debacle. Both of them were fired up, and agitating against it. Say what you will about Jones, he has a dedicated following and he has advised them to call their legislators.
My point in all this is that an unlikely coalition of opposition has formed, and it is formidable.

Cops probe bizarre sexual assault in South Side
[ . . . ]
The latest incident was reported by the 16-year-old victim on Friday, police said.
The girl told police she was outside her residence last Thursday when a red minivan pulled up and the driver, who identified himself as "Tony" and said he was from Allentown, invited her to get into the vehicle.
They drove to the parking lot of Gerrity's on Meadow Avenue, where they went into the rear of the van and the man told her to sign his penis with an ink pen, which the girl did, police said. The man then returned the girl to her home.

Sorry for the above double post. I was channeling ace.
From NRO
Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says the CBO has scored the latest version of the Democrats' health-care bill, reporting its cost at $940 billion over the first ten years.
Based on funding formulas similar to those provided by Democrats on earlier versions of the bill — presumably complete with frontloaded taxation, Medicare double-counting and the like — the CBO says the bill will cut deficits by $130 billion in that time.

Re sidebar story: Georgia legislator seeks drug tests for unemployment recipients.
That story references the following:
HB 1389, sponsored by Rep. Michael Harden, would require that the cost of the drug test be paid by the recipient or deducted from his or her benefits. Failing the drug test could result in a loss of benefits.
The law was most likely OK right up until it got to the point where the unemployed will have to pay for the tests (which are expensive). I suspect that the courts would hold that to be punishment w/o due process. It will be hard enough to get the testing past them without adding that to the mix.
I'll be out for a while this morning Morons, back later.,

Okay, fine, it's a small point. BUT, for somebody who claims to have a law degree from Harvard, who claims to have an undergrad degree from Columbia, how could he get through seven years of college in the east and not ever hear a word about Penn State and their mascot?
