Power Line has two interesting articles about our intelligence community.

The first is about the departure of Deputy Director Stephen Kappes from his position at the CIA. It turns out that Kappes was a real turd in the punch bowl -- a bureaucrat's bureaucrat who f'cked up the CIA big time. He fought Bush and pushed for business as usual at the CIA.

The second is about the NSA leaker. He was a nobody who leaked nothing important. He's being prosecuted because he leaked stuff that cast the NSA's bureaucracy in an unflattering light.

So it's business as usual in our intelligence community: FUBAR.

OT: I went to our Tea Party. Good turn out and really nice polite people.  A couple of idiots with "KKK" and "Tea partiers love Hitler" signs tried to be disruptive.  As soon as they showed up, a group with real signs surrounded them closely and held their signs over the offensive signs.

I teared up when the speaker asked all veterans to stand.  Huge group of good honorable men.  Loved that.

This weekend AoSHQ should have a "Tell us about your Tea Party" post; links to pictures appreciated.

The Tea Party in Spokane was fascinating.  Butch Otter, R, Gov Idaho who was the first to file against Obamacare asserting 10th amendment rights was the keynote.  Standing ovation.

But the opening speaker was a "libertarian" who stated his hero's were Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich and Bernie Sanders. WTF?  the 5,000 or so in attendance kinda sat there in stunned amazement as he attacked big corporations, Wall Street, Bankers.  When he started insisting that we need a third party, he was resoundingly booed. 

What I saw and heard around me were a lot of Sarah Palin/ Glen Beck/ Rush Limbaugh/ Ronald Reagan conservatives.  It was a great crowd for 4pm on a Thursday.

That is not to say there wasn't negative sentiment about the greed of Wall Street, but the vast majority of signs I saw pertained to over taxation, socialists in the white house, fear for the future of the country and the constitution, obamacare, not being heard by their representatives, and concern about attacks on entrepreneurs.
