3 Good morning AoS denizens!

This is the kind of news that warms the cockles of my heart first thing in the morning.  Saw it referenced on Carl in Jerusalem's site.

Report: China, Iran, North Korea have formed strategic alliance

The report, titled "China, Iran and North Korea: A Triangular Strategic Alliance," by Israel's GLORIA Center said China and North Korea were the key suppliers of Scud-based ballistic missiles to Iran's military, the target of Western sanctions...China has sought to make Iran a key waystation in Beijing's silk road policy of expanding influence throughout Asia. The report said Beijing, believed to be channeling aid through neighboring North Korea, regarded Iran as an ally to balance the strategic relationship between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

CJ adds this quip at the end of his post - "It looks China will be a superpower by the time Obama's term ends. The US will not be one."  I tend to agree.

/In the end, there will be only chaos.

Putting on flame-proof clothing, Subs cannot project power.  Unless you can put troops on your enemy's  beach with impunity, you cannot impose your will.

Developing a sub fleet is a counter to the US's Carrier strategy.

I'm not going to flame you for making a rational statement, friend.  You're right about sub's projection power being nill.  IIRC, China hasn't had much luck revamping some carrier given to them by the Russians.

China's a weird duck.  I don't think they wish to project power as in brute force with carrier groups and such (not yet), but they're more than willing to spread their influence into the Middle East, Africa...dunno about South America.

17 The real issue with China is if she needs a war to distract from internal problems in the next 2 years. It won't involve her Navy. She isn't close to being able to do anything more then rain missiles on Taiwan - so who gets the hammer: RoK (tough), Vietnam (been there, got ass kicked), Laos/Burma (who cares), India (tough), Nepal-Bhutan (support our Moaist brethren, etc.), a vulnerable 'stan in former Russia (how would Putin play it?).

20 I saw (maybe within the last year or two) a piece about the changing dynamic between China and Russia. Along specific border areas where Chinese peasants would occasionally travel to the relatively modern and affluent Russian cities in search of work, everything has switched. Now the Chinese side is full of ( relatively speaking) bustling Metropoli and the Russian side looks like a bunch of ghost towns. All sorts of reasons for it, of course. Anyway, I wonder what Putin thinks of this new alliance?

But they do want to become THE PREDOMINANT Power in the Asian Basin and eject the US Navy from playing a prominent role there. And that is the challenge we face. The question is will we have the Military and the Balls to continue projecting our Military Power and protecting our Allies?

Who is Tim Cavanaugh and why to I do I love him?

"Will Janet Napolitano Be Fired For Time Square Incompetence?  “NapolitanoÂ’s rhetorical slip is a little too serious to be palmed off with some linguistic woolgathering. She has made clear repeatedly that she believes people with Gadsden flag bumper stickers are a greater threat to domestic tranquility than out-of-the-closet terrorists who receive training and material assistance in foreign terror centers. She has been wrong about this every time, and she will continue to be wrong until Americans actually die.” DonÂ’t kid yourself — sheÂ’ll continue to be wrong after that, too.

Plus this: “This is an obvious politicization of her office. (Napolitano’s favored targets — health care protesters and disgruntled veterans — are distinguished not by their propensity toward violence but by their opposition to the administration.) "

Nah - the administration hired her to be the face of their political leftwingerism and Islamic terrorism denial.  American's real threat?  Free speech.

Obama's Plan to Destroy Israel

Like Carter before him, Obama has chosen to cut backdoor deals with the Mullahs in Iran, offering them power over Iraq and Afghanistan, in exchange for quieting things down enough to let him hang up a Mission Accomplished banner and pull the troops out. "Peace with honor", preferably before the next election. The rape law for Shiites in Afghanistan, the push for a US funded Hamas/Fatah Unity government in the territories and the rising expansion of the Taliban are all fruits of this arrangement. If Iran is to be our new best friend under this arrangement, Israel is to be our new best enemy.

That's something that has always amazed me about libs.  A lib president will surround himself with incompetents and then the entire lib establishment will spend all of their time insisting that the idiotic performance of the incompetents is in truth, a display of their genius.

And when a conservative president surrounds himself with smart people, the libs spend all their time insisting that the exceedingly competent performance of the right wing people is instead a demonstration of their incompetence.

Fortunately, it seems that a few of them are beginning to understand how hard it is to keep those dots connected.

Hollywood just released a movie into theaters on the weekend of Cinco de Mayo that glorifies and encourages illegal aliens to take up arms against Americans.

While some will claim this movie is a spoof, you need to watch the trailer yourself.

The movie is about an illegal alien that gets double crossed after accepting a commission to murder an American politician that is driving illegal aliens out of our country.

The protagonists then lead an army of machete and AK-47 wielding illegal aliens in a violent uprising. In Central and South America, the machete is a symbol of violent revolt.

I am greatly concerned that the introduction of this propaganda film, at this time, with the specific threat against the state of Arizona could greatly increase the chances of violent harm against Americans by illegal aliens.

What You say, Kratos?

74 ALERT Unemployed Morons

My sister in law is now in LA cleaning birds at a rate of $300/hr.  It will not last long but this is a chance.

Did you all see that Freddie Krueger beat out Iron Man this weekend at the box office?

Also, hysterical article in the WSJ about TerraCycle today.  Stupid greentards!

"Companies seeking a more eco-friendly image began asking TerraCycle to turn their discarded packaging into consumer products.  As large retailers increasingly stress efficiency and eco-friendliness in their supply chains...giving Terra Cycle their trash to be used for making products offers cmpanies a new way to boost their environmental cred with both retailers and consumers.

While the abundance of donated materials helps the company keep down the cost of supplies, it also makes for mountains of garbage.  TerraCycle's 25,000 square foot warehouse and office building filled with wrappers, pouches and other items pouring in at about 200,000 pounds/month.  Execs say they moved desks into hallways or began sharing offices to make room for floor to ceiling trash piles.  Terracycle bought and leased 5 additional warehouses to hold all the waste.

While it was able to use some of the materials for backpacks, tote bags and pencil cases, the orders barely made a dent.  As garbage piled up, so did the company's losses, to $4.5 million in 2008 on sales of $6.6 million...

'If there's a very public program like this one and it fails, then no one's going to order more TerraCycle's funky goods', says Mr. Szaky [TerraCycle founder].  He refuses to send it to landfills or trash burning plants.  The company could go bankrupt trying to get rid of it on his own."

Hmm, Specter polling lower than Sestak now.  From Hotair:

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Democratic Primary voters in the state shows Sestak earning 47% of the vote while Specter picks up 42%. This marks the first time Sestak has held the advantage in the race.

SpecterÂ’s support has slipped from 48% in March to 44% a month ago to 42% today.

The numbers for Sestak have been going in the opposite direction from 37% in March to 42% a month ago to 47% today.
