3 I noted this in one of the newspapers here. The tiny town of Ridgeland, SC (pop 3585) has been given permission to set up an electronic speed trap on I-95.You see they are fortunate in that their town sits right on the passageway of I-95 and they have been given permission to set up automatic cameras for use in nailing people and the sending out bills for tickets.

Location Bing Map

Story at The State Newspaper

Just keep this in mind; “Ridgeland Mayor Gary Hodges says safety is his priority.”Hahahaha.

Be warned. The town is located near the GA-SC border.Just another reason to stay off of I-95.

I'm opposed to all the hyphenated crap, but sometimes you have to speak the language of the masses surrounding you.

So Greece gets a bailout equal to 50% of its GDP.

Let that 50 number soak in a bit.

Then try to not run screaming from the room when the words "United Kingdom," "Italy," "Japan," or "United States," or for that matter, "California" happen to appear in print.

Somebody tell that cliff to slow down.  There are children present.

16 #2 Thanks for the article, you dirt-stealing radish, .  Here's its ending:

I shook my head. "No, you don't understand. The reason we came to this country was so she could be an American. She is a good one, too. She has the poise, the confidence, the sense of fair play, the optimism, the drive to succeed, and the tolerance that marks America."

I am disappointed that my own government wants to hyphenate me.
At least my daughter is un-hyphenated. I hope she realizes how lucky she is to be just an American.

Hyphenation = Balkanization.  And it's being done on purpose for a) the race-baiter's short-sighted political gain and b) to get revenge on "The Man". Damn them all.

Then, people can start mulling over the fact that it isn't going to work, either.  Greece prefers to kill itself, which is how they got to this point, in the first place.

But, I really get a kick out of those in the EU  who claim that they didn't know what was happening with Greece.  Now, that is pretty funny.

And Politico reports that a poll by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has its candidate, Mark Critz, holding a two-point lead over Burns ahead of the special election to finish John MurthaÂ’s term. Critz barely edges out Burns in the survey, 43 percent to 41 percent, findings that come on the heels of a Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll that had Burns up by 6.

55 Also, about that white guy who changed his shirt and became the bombing suspect...

Listening to the local Fox news AM station this morning, the narrative about they NYC carbomber is this: the guy "furtively ducks into an alley to change his shirt." If you watch the vid... the "suspect" pauses on the sidewalk and changes his shirt, between the camera and the vehicle, while other regular NYC people walk by on that sidewalk, then continues on his way. Not an alley, and not furtive, and not in any way suspicious.

That guy is just a dude who changed his shirt in front of the camera. That's all.

Odds are, the camera actually caught a swarthy bearded man with a smoking turban and crazy eyes - running from the scene like he was being pursued by 72 love-starved, and well-endowed camels.

Even lamer is the idea that a lone guy stole an SUV from one part of the city, stored it, stole a license from somewhere else, built a bomb, put it all together, drove down to Times Square and dropped it off, all by his lonesome.  It could happen, but the chances are pretty remote.

Of course the Dems don't mind at all because not only are they being paid off by the lobbyists, but another federal agency gains more power. Fascism to the max in DC.

The more power they get the more bribes they can finagle from the lobbies.

They have already got much much more in the way of funds than anyone else. Let's not forget that these kinds of federal dollars are easily converted.

Sure they will show where they spent the federal dollars on police, fire, etc. What they will not show is where they cut their own funds to those same programs and funneled them elsewhere.

I say it is time to cut off ALL federal funds to big cities. ALL of these payouts are unconstitutional.

83 Dude are you kidding me? Building a bomb in a stolen SUV isn't exactly building the 8th wonder of the world. Easily done. Just ask Tim McVeigh. Former rocket scientist.

Posted by: Lunatic Fringe at May 03, 2010 10:40 AM (uFdnM)

Of course an individual COULD do it, but the chances are very remote that one person carried out all of the tasks necessary to get that bomb to the target location.  Every point of the process puts the guy at risk of getting caught, either in the separate acts or by neighbors seeing all sorts of weird things going on.

But, if you think it is reasonable to assume that one guy was running around the city, collecting the stolen car and plates, building the bomb, ... all by his lonesome, then good for you.  That would not be a reasonable first assessment, though.

And, McVeigh wasn't in a crowded city and did have help, so I don't know what point you were trying to make with that.

84 Oh BTW, not that anybody is keeping count, but this weekend's VBIED attack in New York is the SECOND terrorist attack to take place on US soil in the fifteen months since the Blessed Reign of the Anointed One began.

Two attacks in fifteen months.  After the war began on 9/11 that "idiot cowboy" Bush had how many in eight years?  Oh yeah, NONE!

I feel so much safer.....   NOT!

Wow. First of all, I happen to know a little bit about bomb making and disposal-having done a few of them in my time. Trying to turn this into some giant conspiracy is my point. The poor guy in the video is probably shitting his pants right now.

I don't doubt. Had something similar happen to me years ago. Come home from work, reading the LA times, and on the back of the business section is a full page ad showing about a dozen photos of people in the process of robbing banks. WANTED FOR BANK ROBBERY was the title.

And one of those people was me.

Well, it wasn't, but the person was a dead ringer for me. Same face, hair length, everything. Hell, if I had sent that photo to my mom she would have claimed it was me. Scared the crap out of me. Talk about being paranoid for the next few weeks, and even more so when I visited my own bank.

Luckily, nothing happened. But still...

96 72 Ya know, we got about 20 million out of work people and you'd think that might be more than enough help to throw at an oil spill in the gulf.

Having lived in New Orleans, I have spent this a.m. looking for BP help wanted ads without success. Fascinating. Perhaps they are hiring cheap day labor from Mexico. That makes sense.

Or maybe they need some actual properly trained engineers and cleaning this up isn't something Joe Blow off the street can do in his spare time?

100 Big story on Fox for L.A. residents having to stand in line for government services and courts being cut back.  All a lot of whining going on about budget cuts.

I love the way they do this shit. Anytime the public refuses to allow more tax hikes the assholes cut essential services and leave all the socialist BS in place.  They NEVER cut the socialist BS.

The normal BS that the local governments do is raise taxes during downturns when their revenue decreases then raise spending when the economy picks up.

Voters MUST reverse that pardygm buit it will never happen as long as people who don't pay for all that socialism get to vote.

>>>Wow. First of all, I happen to know a little bit about bomb making and disposal-having done a few of them in my time. Trying to turn this into some giant conspiracy is my point.

But it involved more than just building the bomb, which was my point.  Saying that it is highly likely that more than a single person carried this out is not quite "turning it into some giant conspiracy".

>>>We don't hardly have any facts and already Al Q is taking credit

Al Quaeda didn't claim anything.  It was the Taliban that made the claim.  But I don't see the relevance, anyway.

All the terrorist cells we've run into, so far, were full of idiots - and that includes the 9/11 cells that should have been caught more than a few times.  So what?  There are a few too many moving parts in this bombing to assume that it was a lone bomber.  And the bigger an idiot the guy is, the more unlikely it is that he carried it all out by himself.

106 I suppose one guy actually could steal a vehicle and plates and attempt to build a bomb from things he has around his house.

When you think about the contents of the bomb that I have heard reported, it does seem to be pretty lame. A couple of gasoline cans and propane bottles. a plastic alarm clock. Some fertilizer in a metal box, which I suppose he figured would mix with the gasoline to make a fertilizer bomb (but don't you mix it with diesel fuel? I dunno). Some wires and some fireworks. I also heard gunpowder, but that could have been the fireworks.

It sounds like an enthusiastic amature or a hastily instructed dupe. The amature scenario reminds me of the guy who stole a plane and flew it into that IRS building several weeks ago that they tried to tie to the tea partiers. A copycat terrorist. Who, before 9/11, would think that flying a plane into a building would be taken as anything other than a freak accident? Sure, we have had a few examples of carbombs being used, the 93 WTC attack and of course McVeigh in OK, but you don't really hear much about those anymore unless you are listening to a Clinton speech. You do hear about plenty of carbombs in Iraq though.

I am not saying it is a lone guy, I am just saying it's possible. Pakistani taliban claimed credit with a pre-recorded video so I am going to assume the ROP has at least some involvement until I see proof otherwise. They tried to pass off Abdulmutallab(the panty bomber) as some sort of lone wolf for weeks as well, remember? And lets not forget Major-we may never now why he did it-Hassan's mass shooting. He was also a lone wolf accordng to the MSM but they dropped that story like a hot potato long ago.

As I recall the FBI finally tracked the anthrax back to a disgruntled scientist at Ft. Deitrich who was not a jihadist.  Similarly, despite the name, the motive for John Mohammed and Lee Malvo was not jihad.

So while those two event were certainly serious crimes I do not think they were acts of war.

That said I admit that it has yet to be proven that the Times Square attack was jihad related, but given similarities to attacks in Europe I think it's just a matter of time before that link is established.
