I got this in an email this morning. Common sense, a commodity in short supply on the left.
As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Remember, there is a mid-term election in 2010!

Money woes changed NYC terror suspect, friend says
NYT: "He was like you, like me, handsome, liberal and an active person," a friend says of Faisal Shahzad.
Yeah, that's it. It was the money woes. Maybe caused by quitting his job and going to Pockeeeston a dozen times to train in terror facilities? This is getting really stupid.Posted by: kansas at May 06, 2010 05:06 AM (2kVkH)

Democrats love skimming off the top, and then letting tax-payers clean up the wreckage.
Freddie's Dead
"Two years and $60-plus billion in bailouts later, mortgage GSE Freddie Mac just posted another staggering quarterly loss — $8 billion in Q1.
Now, the de facto government owned enterprise is asking for another $10.6 billion in federal dollars to prop up its necrotized housing portfolio.
Remember, the Republican alternative to the Dodd bill aims to wind down, and break up, Fannie and Freddie on a fifteen-year time, and to limit taxpayer exposure to the zombies in the near-term. The Democrats would rather kick the problem an indefinite distance down the road."

From Zombie :
Students punished for wearing American flags on Cinco de Mayo.
NBC quotes a fellow student:
“I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day,” Annicia Nunez, a Live Oak High student, said. “We don’t deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn’t do that on Fourth of July.”

Beck is talking about this now. And the school district gets off easy by issuing an apology and the kids go back to school?
Isn't there a nice lawsuit in their somewhere?

Actually they do not want to see F&F abolished at all. Kicking it down the road is just a means of getting it off the radar while the news is hot.
They can't allow it to be abolished because it is a major source of employment for democrap ex-politicians who are voted out of office.

The problem with a lawsuit is it holds the wrong people accountable and punishes them; the taxpayer.
What we need is a new law that eliminates "partial liability" and holds the true assholes accountable.

One of my friends, having lived through a frivolous malpractice suit, was furious that he had to spend all the money defending himself and the person could just make the charge and that is that.

Exactly; Darryl is dumb even by baseball standards. Did they have him on because he thought they said "illegal drugs" and wanted to complain about that as an expert?

That is another problem. The bar for determining that a lawsuit is frivolous needs to be lowered. Personally I am for disbarring any lawyer who participates in a frivolous lawsuit.

How bout only the black kids get to go on fieldtrip?
From AnnArbordotcom/news
An Ann Arbor elementary school principal sent a letter home to parents tonight to defend a field trip for black students as part of his schoolÂ’s efforts to close the achievement gap between white and black students

But the camp where my kids went never took the campers to the local fireworks because they thought it would hurt the foreign kids' feelings.
I can't imagine anyone having hurt feelings due to fireworks. I guess maybe a British kid might still be holding a grudge, but really.
Why would you send your kid to camp in the US in early July and then complain about 4th of July celebrations?
It's a mystery.
