South Carolina Pol Questions Dem Senate Candidate's 'Mental Status'
A South Carolina lawmaker on Sunday suggested that new Democratic Senate nominee Alvin Greene may be intellectually incapable of participating in the general election race.
State Rep. Todd Rutherford told Fox News that he went to Greene's house to discuss with him how Greene succeeded last week in becoming the candidate to challenge Republican Sen. Jim DeMint in the November election, but he found it difficult to decipher an answer.
(Note: Todd Rutherford is a black Dem)
The Vic Rawl campaign must file their protest no later than noon today. Below is the SC Code for pimary protests:
SECTION 7-17-560. State executive committee to hear certain protests and contests; place of hearing; filing; notice and service.
The state executive committee must meet in Columbia at such place as may be designated by the chairman to hear and decide protests and contests that may arise in the case of federal officers, state officers, State Senate, State House of Representatives, and officers involving more than one county.
Any protest or contest must be filed in writing with the chairman of the committee, together with a copy for each candidate in the race, not later than noon on Monday following the canvassing of the votes for these officers by the committee.
However, service upon the chairman may be perfected by depositing at the office of the Chief of the State Law Enforcement Division a copy of the protest, together with a copy for each candidate in the race. The chief must take immediate steps to deliver these copies to the chairman.
The protest must contain each ground thereof stated separately and concisely. The chairman of the committee must forthwith serve upon each candidate in the protested race a copy of the protest and serve a notice of the time and place of the meeting of the committee for the purposes of hearing the protest.
SECTION 7-17-570. Procedure for hearing protest or contest; notice of decision.
The executive committee shall hear the protest or contest on Thursday following the deadline for filing the same. Testimony at the hearing shall be limited to the grounds stated in the written protest.
The protestant and each other candidate in the protested race shall have the right to be present at the hearing, to be represented by counsel, to examine and cross-examine witnesses and to produce evidence relevant to the grounds of the protest.
The chairman of the committee shall provide for and conduct the hearing as nearly as possible in accordance with the procedures and rules of evidence observed by the circuit courts of this State.
The chairman shall have authority to administer oaths and subpoena witnesses. Upon the conclusion of the hearing of the protest the committee shall determine all issues by majority vote and forthwith certify the results of the election. The State Election Commission shall pay for the costs of the court reporter and the transcript of the hearing.
The committee shall remain in session until a conclusion has been reached. All candidates in the protested or contested race shall be immediately notified of the committee's decision.

A high-level British offer of help to clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill was rebuffed by America shortly after the accident, fuelling fresh fears of political tension between the two countries over the disaster.
A few days after the BP-leased rig sank on April 22, the Cabinet Office made a direct offer to the US State Department to airlift half of BritainÂ’s 1,200-tonne stockpile of chemical dispersants, The Times has learnt.

Just what DHS needs for Marxist perfection:
The Federal Aviation Administration has been asked to issue flying rights for a range of pilotless planes to carry out civilian and law-enforcement functions but has been hesitant to act. These pilotless aircraft come in a variety of sizes. Some are as big as a small airliner, others the size of a backpack. The tiniest are small enough to fly through a house window.

2 Holy cow: Bod Etheridge (D-NC) beats the crap out of a college kid who asks him a question on the street
Maybe it's because I'm female, but if a man had my wrist in a hold like that I'd do whatever it took to break his grip. And I mean whatever it took. I couldn't hear the sound on the video, but there's no question that was a physical assault.

OT, but just a quicky warning to wannabe barbecue meisters: I couldn't get the gas powered grill to light up pushing the stupid buttons, so I finally resorted to the old fashioned method involving a lit match.
Only thing is, after having the gas on for 3 minutes with the cover closed, suddenly opening the lid and throwing in a match produced quite a "blowback." As in, a giant flame ball that (quite painlessly, but very effectively) singed off all the hairs on the inside of my arm.
Hmmm. Come to think of it, is it possible I have invented a much faster alternative to the Brazilian Wax? Though it would have to a very brave gal indeed...

24 I think they wanted film but, yeah, if a guy grabbed my wrist like that he had better be wearing a cup.
BTW, always pull away from a grip using the thumb side of your wrist. It is stronger. Twist and pull up if you can. (Balls with your knee, eye jab with the other thumb)

This was on Drudge and I'm sure only on Drudge:
President Barack Obama spent four hours on the golf course Sunday in temperatures that peaked in the low 90s.
The White House pool reported that they left Andrews Air Force Base as it started to rain after 4 p.m.
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood was among the group golfing with Obama.

But the student held the moral high ground, having consistently politely asked each question, including "please let go of my wrist", which made the bastard even MORE angry, grabbing the young man by the nape of his neck, then thrust into the typical "my friends" arm grasp photo op, TOO LATE for that lame cover-up effort.
The sheer overt animosity! Screwing Town Halls by going AWOL isn't enough from these Marxist democrats. "Get in their faces" was Obama's advice to his supporters.
Actions speak louder than words.

U.S. Defense Department officials and geologists have discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped iron, copper, cobalt, gold, lithium, and other minerals scattered throughout Afghanistan
In a sane world, this would be good news. Sadly this is just going to make A-stan into one more resource-based economy - the same kind of economics that keeps muslims fed, and jihads well funded, world wide. Better that this had never been discovered.

Huge deposits of iron, lithium, gold and other minerals discovered in Afganistan could give those people an economy based on mining, instead of on growing drugs. Russians discovered some deposits in the 80's, but remained silent, hoping to mine those minerals themselves. Apparently Afganistan is sitting a real treasure chest of wealth heretofore unexploited.
This could radically change the dynamics of the war in Afganistan. If Obama has a shred of intelligence, he won't be anxious to get us out of that country now.

oh, and Afghanistan's Ex-Minister of Mines was accused of taking a bribe from the Chinese, not the Russians

am i the only one who thinks it is unlikely we, or anyone, can ever win a war in Afghanistan.
I understand as long as we are there that it can't be used as a terrorist base, but we can't stay forever. And it is not the type of country that will have a strong central government that can police the nation. It's not like Iraq which is a relatively modern nation by middle eastern standards. This is a backwards shit hole that has been this way forever.
Isn't it time for Real Politik? In this instance don't you think we should go back to tried Cold War strategies? Maybe pick a tribe or two and back them. I understand it would be ideal to have a democracy everywhere, but its not going to happen in Afghanistan.
Maybe pick the pashtu's, or some group, arm them and lets them rule the country? I think Afghanistan is the type of country that does in fact need a dictator to be held together, either that or dissolve it as a country and break it up into several smaller country. There really isn't anything holding the country together as a unified entity.

Deposits of lithium (used for batteries in cell phones, etc.) estimated to be much larger than the deposits in Brazil, our current primary supplier.
We're looking at trillions of dollars worth of minerals which can be mined there.
But Afganistan is so primitive that it doesn't have an infrastructure suitable for developing a mining industry. Either this country or some other country will have to make that investment in geologists, engineers, equipment, etc. If Obama and the Democrats blow this one, they should be tarred, feathered and taken out of Washington on rails. I reiterate; this could be worth a quick trillion dollar return for US companies willing to make the investment - TRILLIONS!!!!!! Mega moolah!!!!!

The Belgian vote will have serious implications. It is the first truly major shot at stopping this idiotic globalism that has infected the civilized world since Bush I. It's about time, because globalism kills. It kills everything. Better we should kill the UN, the EU, and the fantasy of "international law" (which never existed) and save civilization.
Go Belgium!

Happy Flag Day, although I dunno exactly how to celebrate it.
impale a hippy on a a flag pole is the traditional way.

It does seem that the only 'win' there is permanent presence with little improvement to the country as a whole. And yes, Afghanistan will never become a unified country without either one tribe destroying the others, or tribal networks breaking down into some form of nationalism. Neither are likely for a long, long time.
However, backing one or two tribes with mil force and money seems like a bad idea. There'll be a 60 Minutes story every week about how we are funding evil warlords, not to mention that we will actually be funding evil warlords.
No good options of course, but I wonder if we couldn't just fund a few more projects, and then talk to the tribe leaders. We'll say something like, "We've spent the better part of the last 5 years placing spies in every corner of this area. The first tribe to help out the Taliban will be hunted down and killed."
Then again, didn't Alexander kill the resisting Afghans and then conscript the rest for his assault on Persia?

eh. i doubt much will come of it. The way those European governments work, you can't accomplish anything. The Flemmish party only won 30 percent of the vote. it's not enought for the to leave Belgium.
I doubt anything will come of it. They probably won't even be able to make a coalition government. What other party will want to form a government with a party that wants to dissolve the state?
I am not holding my breath.

That helps the cause, as Belgium is supposed to assume the rotating EU Presidency, which goes to show the difference between US systems, that have permanent governments and idiotic European party oriented parliamentary systems that have virtual governments which rise and fall with control of the legislatures.
I wouldn't underestimate the impact that the Belgian elections are going to have. I think it will be substantial.

I definitely don't have the temperament to be a reporter, budding or otherwise. That old man would have gotten his shit pushed in for attempting to manhandle me.
What the fuck is wrong with people? He wasn't even trying to hit the kid, he was trying to handle him. "Feel my power, boy!" How many martinis did that old cocksucker have for lunch?
Don't pull away, if he's pulling you toward him, accelerate with it and slap him in the groin and say, "Isn't this FUN?"

It's ironic that these fuckers are the ones to blame for all of this PC bullshit that is infesting our society. Seems the democrats need a seminar on how to avoid putting voters in fucking CHOKE HOLD.
If this were a Republican, the left would be calling for his death, or jail time or both.
If this were a Republican Congressman, the MFM would have given his home address and tips on how to destroy his home.

Middle-class Scots will no longer be entitled to a “universal police service” as huge public sector spending cuts eat away at forces’ budgets, the country’s most senior officer has warned.

I can't bring myself to put up a flag today. I'm ashamed of what this country has become, and mostly of an electorate that could pull a lever for such an obviously unqualified and dangerous jackass as Obama.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way. On Zero's inauguration day, I took down my stars and stripes; the Gadsden flag went up and will remain there till he leaves.

Another try.
If that worked, I'll have to figure out how to get it not underlined.
