Tonight, the chump with whom the buck stops will use the governments inability to do one of it's few enumerated powers as proof that it should take on even more unenumerated powers and will make totally irrelevant arguments to convince the gullible American public of the need to tax the shit out of energy in order to hasten the decline of American society and with it, humanity in the world.
And yes, Barry is still an incompetent radical demagogue.

Here's some more cheery news:
'Jordan seeks to be nuclear power'
Jordan is set on becoming the Middle East's newest nuclear power, Jordanian King Abdullah told the Wall Street Journal in an interview over the weekend.
In the interview, King Abdullah accused Israel of pressuring countries like South Korea and France not to provide nuclear technology to Jordan. He said Israel's "underhanded" actions had helped bring Jordan-Israeli relations to their lowest point since a 1994 peace agreement.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – President Barack Obama is poised to seize the handling of oil spill damage claims from BP, his chief spokesman said Tuesday, as Obama sought to reassure people he's up to the enormous challenge of helping them recover from the environmental disaster. He will outline his specific plans and expectations in a prime-time Oval Office speech.
This makes me feel much better. This dipshit couldn't direct traffic down a one way street. And where did he get off comparing it to 9-11? 3,000 people weren't murdered by this spill.

Wind, solar, stream and other hydros - fugget about it, not going to happen. And as a consequence of environmentalists' meddling, we are using corn to run vehicles, oil to power buildings, and ignoring nuclear power. This is exactly backwards: we should be using nuclear power to provide electricity to stationary objects like houses and buildings, oil and gas based fuels to power our vehicles, and corn should be going into people's stomachs.
We are living in a world gone mad.

10 It's amazing how resistant people can be to the whole energy/power density thing. I've tried to explain it to my hippie friends a few times, but they still think wind and solar are viable power options.
Being a leftist means you have to completely disavow economics and physics, among many other things.

And here's a little more of jmio:
BP, under current law, is legally liable for up to $75 million in damages due to the spill. They have volunteered to pickup the tab for all of the damages. I'm not saying that I necessarily believe that BP has been lilly white in this whole clusterscrew, but they committed.
Barry has shown zero leadership in this mess to this point and his only response to anything related to it is to demonize BP. He could have marshalled all of the available resources from accross the world from the outset and then billed BP after it was fixed, but instead, he decided to use the excuse for inaction on saying that it was BP's responsibility.
Because of that, there is a very good chance imo, that he will wind up screwing this totally up. He may put so much pressure on BP that they will back out of their committment and insist on limiting their liability to the legal limit, which will lead to years of legal (expensive) wrangling that we will be left holding the bag for and will probably wind up where we, will wind up paying for the remediation.
Or - he may illegally seize BP's assets just like they did in the financial crisis and just like they do in communist and other totalitarian countries.
This shit has to end.

This is exactly why we need to de-velop the developed world and drastically reduce the number of humans desecrating Gaia. For instance, if we only had 10 million human beings and all became Level 5 Vegans, it would be much easier to manage on wind, hydro and solar.

June 15 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama promised residents and businesses along the Gulf of Mexico heÂ’ll make sure BP Plc pays for the losses from the biggest oil spill in U.S. history and that the region will be restored.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said today that the government has “the legal authority” to make BP place the money needed for recovery and relief from the oil spill into an independently administered fund.
“It’s going to take time for things to return to normal,” Obama said after getting a briefing from federal and local officials and touring a staging facility in Theodore, Alabama. “But I promise you this: things are going to return to normal.”

Judge decrees six vote per person to remedy racial imbalance.
Although the village of about 30,000 residents is nearly half Hispanic, no Latino had ever been elected to any of the six trustee seats, which until now were chosen in a conventional at-large election. Most voters were white, and white candidates always won.
Federal Judge Stephen Robinson said that violated the Voting Rights Act, and he approved a remedy suggested by village officials: a system called cumulative voting, in which residents get six votes each to apportion as they wish among the candidates. He rejected a government proposal to break the village into six districts, including one that took in heavily Hispanic areas.

An e-mail to Ann:
"I know your question at the end of the Etheridge post was facetious, but I figured I'd answer it anyway. I'm [RC ] , a retired lawyer and amateur photographer in Rockville, Maryland, unaffiliated with Andrew Breitbart or any other political or journalistic operation but fascinated both by Etheridge's outrageous behavior and the way it was covered in the media. Not only did Weigel mischaracterize it and treat it dismissively, but others like CBS chose to edit down the battery to eliminate Etheridge's very rough grabbing of the young man's neck as well as the repeated requests from the young man that Etheridge let him go. The New York Times, following the pattern of its coverage of Van Jones and Helen Thomas, waited to report anything about the incident until Etheridge had apologized, then made his apology the story and reported little about the incident itself.
Thank goodness for Glenn Greewald, who had the integrity to call for Etheridge to be arrested and the courage to call out the commenters to his post who defended Etheridge."

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Arthur Furano voted early — five days before Election Day. And he voted often, flipping the lever six times for his favorite candidate.
Furano cast multiple votes on the instructions of a federal judge and the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a new election system crafted to help boost Hispanic representation.
That is absolute bullshit. That is illegal as hell regardless of what the idiot judge says. The Supremes have ruled over and over that there can be only one vote per person. The problem here is finding someone like a NY election commission who is willing to challenge them.

From the WSJ:
For 97 years the 12 regional banks of the Federal Reserve system have operated relatively free of political interference from Washington. The looming financial reform bill threatens that independence, not least through an effort to impose new presidential appointees at the regional banks.
The biggest underreported threat comes from Subtitle I, Section 1801 of the House financial reform bill titled "Inclusion of Minorities and Women; Diversity in Agency Workforce." Sponsored by California Democrat Maxine Waters, the provision requires each federal financial agency, the Fed Board of Governors and the 12 regional Fed banks to "establish an Office of Minority and Women Inclusion."
So what else is new, you say? Don't the feds already dictate racial and gender hiring? Yes, they do, through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and assorted other federal laws. As a matter of racial and gender diversity, the Waters provision is at best redundant.
But Ms. Waters and the House are hunting bigger game—to wit, the political allocation of credit. They want to put a network of operatives at the highest level of government who are responsible for making sure that regulators put the hiring of, and lending to, minorities at the top of their priority list. The House provision makes that very clear by making each diversity officer a Presidential appointee who must be confirmed by the Senate. The post, says the bill, will be "comparable to that of other senior level staff."

Which is why the Republicans need to revise the order of the primaries to make it dependent on how Red you went in the previous election.
IOW, the States that went Republican by the largest percentage go first and those with the lowest (Blue) go last.

The4 courts struck down the "at large" elections in the South 40 years ago which now begs the question why are they still doing it in NY. or, why isn't NY getting hammered with Title V?
Oh I know, its because only the South had Jim Crow laws.
In any case, the solution can NOT violate the one person one vote rule. They will have to split the district up into smaller sections with a candidate for each section just like the South was forced to do 40 years ago.
