Even if the GOP gets a majority for a couple of cycles, even if President Obama is defeated in his 2012 reelection bid, Obamacare will be forever. And once the public sees that the GOP wonÂ’t try to dismantle Obamacare, it will lose any enthusiasm for Republicans. Democrats will eventually return to power, and it will be power over a much bigger, much more intrusive government.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Nearly 60 percent of American voters say they lack faith in President Barack Obama, according to a public opinion poll published on Tuesday.
The results of the Washington Post/ABC News poll are a reversal of what voters said at the start of Obama's presidency 18 months ago when about 60 percent expressed confidence in his decision making.

Americans' support for ArizonaÂ’s tough new immigration law is unwavering, with the public unmoved by a legal challenge to the law filed last week by the US Department of Justice, finds a new poll released Monday by TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence (TIPP).
The US Department of Justice filed suit against the state of Arizona in federal court July 6, challenging the state's tough new immigration law requiring state and local police to ask ID of anyone they've stopped and then suspect of being in the US illegally.
“What is interesting here is that Americans are on the side of Arizona and seem to not share the US government’s views against the law, despite wide media coverage of the clash between [President] Obama and [Arizona Gov. Jan] Brewer on this issue,” says Raghavan Mayur, president of TIPP.
Obviously it's because they're racist crackas. And once again the media misrepresents it as tough on immigration not on enforcing illegal immigration laws.

That's the thing, they call too early and I've spoken with them about it. They don't seem to care at all about the FDCPA. And I'm technically a lawyer in good standing, though I primarily drive my kid to lunch and karate. I see why they might, superficially, think a Charles Johnson lives here. It's a nick name-initials thing. But that's only slightly less common than John Smith.
What I find strange is that we're the only family to ever live here and our full names are 100% discoverable, online. It's almost like they just want to harass us for kicks. So that last part sounds like fun.

I know Rush thinks the sun rises and sets on McCarthy, but no one knows what's going to happen one day to the next. Well, Someone does, and He may have other things in mind than Precedent Ebola. Unless he has some magic crystal ball, McCarthy's just one man with one opinion. Sarah Palin is of the opinion that ObamaScare has got to go. So does that mean her opinion and McCarthy's cancel each other out?
The January 2011 defunding is the first step. Even if ZeroCare machinations continued, states will go bankrupt providing all the freebies they're on the hook for. We're going to have close to 40 GOP govs come November. Think about it. The majority of the public doesn't want it and is used to having excellent healthcare. How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm and all that.

LittleGreenMorrisseys HA is a site populated by people who instantly start playing pocket pool when Palin's name is mentioned. To them she is (to borrow an iconic phrase) More Important Than Jesus. She can do no wrong. Anyone who dares ask a question about her record/competence/appearance (no matter how relevant or justified) is an eeeeeeevil troll, a hater or an unprincipled rump ranger like Andrew Sullivan.
It's gonna be a helluva wake-up call if Palin, the goddess, turns out to have feet of clay. No, I take that back. the squishes at HA will never notice.
But if Palin goes down in electoral flames -- or simply decides to continue as a human Facebook page -- part of the fault will lie with her adoring, uncritical, unthinking fanboyz.

She just needs to do some outlines on 3x5 cards of basic positions on issues. And memorize them. When she is prepared on something she sounds good. Amazing our people don't see her hit-n-miss on basic questions, only hit. I root for her, but sometimes she's not strong on topics which come up every day. If you can't hit on TV, when you're an analyst, with some idea of what the topic is before you go on, that's a problem for political debates or press conferences. Which are hardball (not Crissy) compared to appearing on Hannity.
So while I agree her heart is in the right place, it's time to get her mind organized. But having said that, Joe Biden is VP. So I don't want to overstate her shortcomings.

Candidates or sane public officials (heh) have to start talking so the masses get a gut punch about our impending financial fate. Saying "the debt is unsustainable" doesn't register to the 52%. They think yada, yada, yada, if they think anything at all.
Saying something like, "Your kids are going to give 8 or 9 dollars back to the govt in taxes out of every 10 they earn" might finally shock the shiite out of them.
Or how about, "Don't want to drill for our own oil? China will be only too happy to stand over you while you work to get it out of the ground to pay them off."
Feel free to come up with your own elementary analogies. That is all.

But if Palin goes down in electoral flames -- or simply decides to continue as a human Facebook page -- part of the fault will lie with her adoring, uncritical, unthinking fanboyz.

Yupper. Because as we all know, she's been super insulated from criticism of any sort. She has never experienced criticism from the media, pundits or her opposition, both within and outside of the party.Uh huh. That, combined with her total lack of executive experience, and the fact that she seemed ill-prepared for the debates versus Joe 'full' Biden make the trifecta of disaster complete.
Thje above is sarcasm

From the solar trash can story:
“There were other distributors, at least one specific other distributor of this same product who would have done it for manufacturer’s cost plus five percent. But doing a sole source, the manufacturer was able to do a 15-percent markup.”
Yeah but the vendor they picked was well-connected at City Hall. WTF kinda rube are you anyway, Mr. City Controller?
In other news, Michelle 0bama's fatwa on desserts goes over as well as Mayor Nutter's ill-fated soda tax. We should all go on a mass racism pranking spree. For instance, the other night I went to order a pizza and the guy told me I couldn't get one made to order, just pre-cooked slices were available. Why?? "Because we ran out of pizza cheese. We were really busy today." I thought that odd, but the place makes really good pizza, so I just got a couple slices and went home.
I told my buddy All Purpose Brown Man about this little vignette. He said I should have yelled at Pizza Guy:
WHY CAN'T I GET A PIZZA MADE TO ORDER, IS IT BECAUSE I'M BLACK???!!1!
which is hilarious, since I am caucasian but dark-haired, and he used a South Philly accent in his rant. I guess you had to be there. But it would be funny if people everywhere were accused of racism at the hint of a perceived slight, regardless of our skin tones.

HA is a site populated by people who instantly start playing pocket pool when Palin's name is mentioned. To them she is (to borrow an iconic phrase) More Important Than Jesus. She can do no wrong.
I like Palin, but I would rather she be in a king maker position than a king, or queen in this case.
She would be better as head of the RNC or some position like that.
If she runs in the primaries, depending on who runs against her, I will probably end up voting for someone else. However if it is down to her, Huck and Mitt, I will vote for Palin

Yeah, unfortunately an initiative to create an income tax "on the rich" is going to make the ballot too. I've got a bad feeling about that. They are selling it as "less property taxes, more money for schools, 5% tax on those making 200,000 individually and 400,000 married and 10% (I think) on those making over 500k. The biggest shill for this, douchebag, jackass, useful idiot--Bill Gates Sr.!
Once we get a law in by initiative, the state can "revise it" after 2 years. Yeah, nothing to worry about here. We've already seen our state legislators screw around and change 2 initiatives that were supposed to keep car tab fees to 30 dollars (we pay over 100 for our cars) and to limit property taxes--could only be raised by voters (suspended for "state budget crisis--it's an emergency"). And yeah, we are a blue, blue state. It sucks.
