I'm watching some Muslim chick on the TV, trying to make the argument, that because her parents were killed on 9/11, Muslims should have the right to build a mosque on the site.

July 15 (Bloomberg) -- Most Americans oppose President Barack ObamaÂ’s ban on deepwater oil drilling in response to BP PlcÂ’s Gulf of Mexico spill, even as they hold the company primarily responsible for the incident.

Almost three-fourths, or 73 percent, say a ban is unnecessary, calling the worst oil spill in U.S. history a “freak accident,” according to a Bloomberg National Poll. Barely more than a third say they support drilling less than they did a few months ago.

In other words, 73% are racist crackas

WASHINGTON – Facing fresh criticism of his handling of the economy, President Barack Obama travels to Michigan on Thursday to promote investments in the electric vehicle battery industry, a sector the administration sees as a bright spot in the sagging recovery.

"We're going to build these products in America," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Wednesday. "We're going to employ Americans. I think that's a strong economic record."

The administration has said the $2.4 billion investment could spur the production of 50,000 batteries a year for plug-in hybrids by 2011 and 500,000 batteries a year for the advanced vehicles by late 2014.

Most of the batteries are now manufactured in Asia, and auto suppliers and manufacturers have sought ways to expand the battery industry in the United States.

Lies and stupidity. It's quite a combination

Well, it appears that even dropping his last name isn't helping him in Nevada. Rory (Just Rory, I have no last name) Reid wakes up this morning to find that he is trailing in his race for Governor in Nevada by.........21 points, 57-36.

Rory's last name is Reid?  Damn.. who knew.  So what's Madonna's last name?  Oh wait, never mind, forgot I could care less.. lol..

Still, 21 points.. man, that smarts.  That would be almost as humiliating as losing the democratic primary to a guy like Alvin Greene..

I seem to remember from my yoot, a concept that required laws to be comprehensible.

http://tinyurl.com/25hdkle

In my mind, there is absolutely no way for America's tax code to be comprehensible to anyone making virtually everyone a criminal at the whim of the IRS.  It's not going to get any better.

For example, IRS code says that it is a legal requirement that penalties and interest be collected from deficient taxpayers, e.g., Geitner.  Yet for him and others they were waived.

Yay, a crumbling regime that possesses nuclear weapons is holing up.

North Korean soldiers defect to China fuelling fears of imminent military clash

An upsurge in the number of North Korean soldiers defecting into China fuelled fears of food shortages and an imminent military clash.

Previously considered to be among the regime's most important assets, the North Korean People's Army has always been well provisioned in order to ensure the troops remain loyal.

But a poor harvest and the disastrous revaluation of the North Korean currency in November of last year has worsened the nation's already dire economic straits.

The Obama administration's rapid release of 10 Russian intelligence officers removed the prospect of a public trial revealing embarrassing facts about Russian influence operations, like the targeting of a key Democratic Party financier close to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The swap of the 10 "illegals," or deep-cover agents, last week — 12 days after their arrest — also prevented trial disclosures of other potentially embarrassing details, like the identities of what an FBI criminal complaint described as a "former legislative counsel for the U.S. Congress" and "former high-ranking United States government national security official" both of whom provided information to two Boston-based Russians in the case. Both officials' names were omitted from the complaint.

From the White House to your house...

"The Perfect Finish"

If ever there was a cookbook to tempt and delight anyone with a sweet tooth, it's this one by the executive pastry chef at the White House, Bill Yosses, with co-author Melissa Clark.  Indulge in gorgeous photos of Feathery Jam-Filled Butter Cakes, Butterscotch-Dulce de Leche Pudding in dainty teacups, a Chocolate Caramel Tart that travels like a dream, the Warm Molten Vanilla Cakes inspired by Yosses' stint at Citarella, every dessert in The Perfect Finish looks good enough to eat.  Step-by-step photos and "chefs notes" throughout (for everything from how to assemble an Old-Fashioned Blueberry Jellyroll to the proper way to create a shiny, smooth ganache) ensure that all 80 recipes are doable for everyone.

How sad for us all that Michelle feels dessert is not a right.  Sigh.

So update on the two houses that burned down the street from my house last night, the fire started in the vacant one (could be insurance, could be transients, police had already chased transients out a short time ago), spread to the evergreen trees and then spread to a lovely occupied home where it destroyed the 2nd floor-though you know the first floor is probably trashed because of smoke and water damage. 94 Joe Conason is just a twerpy third-tier Lefty commentator and "author"...(do books by Libs really count when they're about GW Bush?)

I first noticed that worthless cocksucker when he was defending Slick from the Whitewater charges; that got him invited to all the Sunday yackfests where I could see what a clueless douche he was.  Between him and Paul "The Forehead" Begala I wouldn't expect there to be a gram of testosterone except in their digestive systems.

Brian Suits just talked about this:  a man named "Oliver King" just arrested in Seattle for being an arms dealer.  The man claimed to have served in the Israeli military, which would have been difficult to do as he was (wait for it, wait for it):

IRANIAN!!111!!!

From the Seattle Times:

Police don't really know what they have with Oliver King. But they don't seem to be willing to take any chances either.

King is a former licensed gun dealer and a citizen of Iran. In other words, he's got the kind of resume that makes law enforcement nervous.

King probably knows this. Which is why, according to the U.S. Attorney General's Office, he lied to border agents when entering Washington from Canada, presenting them with a brand new passport rather than the old one which featured a bunch of stamps from a country that loathes us and his much less Anglican-sounding given name, Hamid Malekpour.

Agents decided to let King go in order to find out what he was up to. He'd told them he needed to go to a mall in Bellingham to pick up his wife. But he kept driving down I-5.

King's first stop was at a gun shop in Oregon, where authorities saw him come out holding a number of shopping bags. Agents eventually arrested him at a storage locker in Ferndale where they say King had stowed over $30,000 worth of guns and ammo.

King's excuse for having enough weapons to arm a small village: I'm a hunter, he told the agents.

King has been charged with making false statements to a government agent, being an alien in possession of firearms and also for furthering the stereotype that every Middle Eastern guy is secretly an international terrorist.

101 My wife thinks I'm a genius.

Well, she didn't use those exact words but, well, here's what happened.

I was expounding upon the Bristol Palin takes Levi Johnson back story and opined that this illustrated both of the Two Great Truths of Life, to wit: 1) Men are pigs and 2) women are batshit crazy. My wife jumped down my throat for using such a vulgar term. (I frequently express this opinion with regards to her mother although I sugar coat using the phrase "Grandma's gone guano.) She accused me of inventing the phrase and usage "batshit." I told her that I didn't invent it and that it must have been some smart guy like Shakespeare or Abraham Lincoln but she didn't believe me.

105 Gator found in surf at Hilton Head resort

It wasn't your usual tourist in the surf off a South Carolina resort island.  This surfer was a 9-foot gator.

The alligator was spotted in the surf Tuesday and hundreds of beachgoers watched as the creature was captured by gator wranglers.

Two workers for Critter Management, Inc. caught the alligator after crews on jet skis forced the creature closer to shore so it could be snared and removed from the beach.

Officials say a gator turns up on the beach about once a month during the summer.

121 re 111

The thing that interests me is where he got the $30,000 to buy that many guns in the first place. Aww my bad, that might lead to a conspiracy, which would even further reinforce my racist stereotype that peace loving Muslims mean us ill.

Speaking of  peace loving Muslims - how many of you remember the young rebel Iman in Iraq who was trapped in a mosque by US forces who killed a bunch of women and children to make it look like the US troops did it - only the US troops never fired a shot and he was ordered to surrender by a more senior cleric - awkwardly leaving behind all those bodies. That evidently is not even an oopsy moment for Liberals. In the peace loving Muslim community it didn't even raise so much as any: "Oh that wacky guy!" comments.  Implicitly condoning the mass murder of women and children so that you can blame on your enemies - that is the very essence of a peace loving religion isn't it?

Here is a suggestion to NASA in its outreach to Islam program: How about we drop several medium size asteroids on the the Islamic world so that they can all become intimately involved in space travel. Hey some of them might wind up on the Moon or even Mars as a result!

Any of you Philly morons know where the 700 block of Earp St. is?  Apparently 100 animals were rescued from a home there.  Here are some of the gory details:

According to eyewitnesses, the floors of the home were covered in nearly two feet of animal feces.

Bengal described the woman who lived at the home as a hoarder who kept the animals inside the home.

The investigation into the home began a year ago when neighbors began complaining of an overwhelming stench coming from the house.

Kind of reminds me of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.....

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A U.S. judge handed a 12-year prison sentence on Thursday to Hassan Nemazee, a former fundraiser for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton who admitted to a $292 million fraud of three major banks.

Nemazee had pleaded guilty on March 18 to charges of bank fraud and wire fraud over loan transactions involving Bank of America Corp, Citigroup Inc and HSBC Holdings Plc.

Nemazee was one of the top "bundlers" of contributions to Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics' OpenSecrets.org.

Recognizing that Democrats would be reluctant to record “yes” votes for a budget that would augment the deficit, the House leadership opted to deem as passed a “budget enforcement resolution” instead, just before the July 4 recess. While the distinction between an enforcement resolution and a full budget is largely technical, there is one crucial difference: Under the enforcement resolution, Democrats can no longer use a parliamentary tactic known as budget reconciliation next year — a process Democrats had hoped might allow them to pass key pieces of legislation, such as a jobs bill, with 51 votes in the Senate, as opposed to the usual 60 needed to overcome a filibuster.

I’ve reread this a couple of times and I’m not sure what the exact meaning of “next year”. I’m presuming fiscal year.
This could be a fatal error for hopes of using reconciliation in the lame duck session to add “cap-and-tax’ to a stripped down energy bill that Reid is now introducing.
