This is a descent article with the exception of the condescending tone it takes toward the military in general and military leaders specifically.
The title could have just as easily been, “They Can Tie Their Shoes. Who knew?”
With the coherence of leftist thought brought clearly into question since BarryÂ’s election, one would think that those on the left would attempt to moderate their demonstrably bogus superior tone.
These people are blinded by their own flawed grandiose impressions of their shortsided intellects.
And that's just imo ( I can't seem to get unpissed.)

It just floors me that the left won't even acknowledge that this guy exists, and if they ever did, they wouldn't lower themselves to admit that he is black. Arguably one of the most brilliant men on the planet and the left totally ignores him because he is a one man testament to the flaw in their underlyingly racist ideology that blacks must be sustained by the more superior left because they, blacks, are inherently inferior and therefore incapable of the achievement necessary to sustain themselves.

My mother called me yesterday over the Washpo article. I explained to her that it is an effort to draw attention away from Obama's disasters and money pouring into entitlements et al and to refocus the argument on "waste" in "homeland security" and the military and then pointing that toward "bush" with an added dose of "racism". In the process of trying to reframe the argument-----yeah, they just noticed that they was redundancy in security (which there is supposed to be) while Obama's numbers and performance are hitting rock bottom.

Recovery Summer!!!!
July 20 (Bloomberg) -- Housing starts fell in June to the lowest level since October as a slump in sales following the expiration of a government tax incentive caused U.S. builders to cut back.
The retreat following the end of government support shows it will be difficult for the industry that precipitated the recession to sustain a recovery. Mounting foreclosures will swell the supply of houses on the market and pressure prices, while prospective buyers shy away as a lack of jobs shakes confidence in the worldÂ’s largest economy.
This must be because Barry has created 30 trillion new jobs in this wonderful recovery

Here is a link to an article from IBD about the gulf oil spill and Crap and Tax. (Link via Big Government.)
Gulf Oil Spill 'Crisis' May Revive Growth-Killing Cap-And-Trade Bill
There are a number of things wrong with this article at IBD and sometimes I wonder why reputed “conservative organizations” link to this sort of thing.
First off the headline itself; “Growth Killing Cap and Trade Bill”. That headline implies that the only bad thing about this bill (or the worst bad thing) is that it will kill growth. The worst thing about the bill is that it is based on nothing more than outright fraud. The so-called science, which real scientists had been calling out as bad for years, has all been debunked and shown to be a huge false scheme. Also, “growth killing” implies that it will slow growth (if we actually had any).In fact, this bill will cost the average middle class person a veritable fortune that few have the ability to pay. It will bankrupt tens of thousands of small businesses, and it will kill hundreds of big businesses and drive more and more out of the country to places that openly refuse to participate in the fraud or who say they will participate but who ignore the requirement s with a wink and a nod.
Second off the article is full of little distortions and untruths.
“The problem is that there is no real link between cap-and-trade regulations and the crisis in the Gulf. As President Obama himself admitted in a speech at Andrews Air Force Base in March of this year:”
Why is that worded with a “qualifier”?How about “there is no link” period.Of course you could also add in there “there is no link between cap and trade regulations and ANY real problem”.In Washington you have to look at the proposed solution to determine what the “real problem” is.If you take the so-called crap and tax bill the real problem is, by Democrat standards, the taxes are too low and the common man has too much freedom to do what he wants through evil capitalism.
And then there is this, which I find odious:
All that would change if cap-and-trade legislation were passed is that President Obama and Congress would have chosen the worst possible time to impose job-killing legislation on the economy.
The U.S. economy has been growing thus far in 2010, but not at the robust pace one would expect at this phase of an economic recovery, and the joblessness rate remains unacceptably highÂ…..(and the subsequent paragraphs)
The economy really isn’t growing now unless you believe Obama’s numbers. But I will forgive them that as I haven’t even seen any “conservative” shills call out the lies in these numbers. But the real killer here is the “worst possible time” quote. The IBD writer is effectively saying that at some later date we could implement this POS legislation.
And this final paragraph:
Depending on how the regulations are implemented, most studies find cap-and-trade regulations will cause a significant reduction in our rate of economic growth.
“Most studies”?How about the ones done by people like Heritage who said that the House bill (which is the only one available) would increase the price of electricity by a factor of between 2 and 5 based on the government’s own numbers which are ridiculously low. That is only one factor. If the House bill were enacted, as written, the United States would be effectively eliminated from the world economy and we would be reduced to 1930s era poverty and misery. Again, it will not “slow growth”. It will destroy the economy and plunge us into the worst mess we have ever seen.
I say not only no, but HELL NO.This lying scam of a bill needs to be totally killed, a stake driven through its heart, and all the so-called “scientists” who ginned up the data that the communists used to promote this scam need to be prosecuted and jailed. Any politician who promotes any aspect of this bill should be called out as a communist or a fool, treated with distain, and ridiculed at every opportunity. “He supports cap and trade” should be made to be an epitaph for criminality and stupidity. It should also be a “go no go” for any Republican politician. You can NOT support this legislation and be a Republican period. It is at the DIABLO level regardless of any other voting qualifications. There is NOTHING in the House bill that has any redeeming value what-so-ever!
And “conservatives” need to quit giving magazine articles like this any credit. I know we like to latch on to anything that fights the Obamanite communists but we don’t need to do it in the Lindsey Graham “meet them halfway” suck up and bend over strategy.

Yeah, that's what we need; lets all go site on the couch with the NAACP, one of the most racist organizations in the country.
Newt need a big jar of "STFU and Go Away Pills".

ON the "selling New York" program on HGTV, the obnoxious woman who is almost impossible to watch (she has a grating voice and a horse face and her daughters have the same affliction, it's a family real estate firm that no one ever heard of) anyways, she was crowing at how the NY real estate market has taken off again and there are even bidding wars. Have asked around, people reaction to that was "are you sure you heard right?"

"The NAACP acted too fast."
If we give Shirley Sherrod the benefit of the doubt, it just goes to show, the NAACP shoots first, asks questions afterward.
"Shirley Sherrod" becomes ancillary to the real issue.
The NAACP still owes the TEA Movement an apology.

I used to say the same thing but one of the site lawyers who is more familiar with the Senate rules pointed out that the only committee that that rule is applicable to is the judiciary committee. (At least one minority party must vote to allow it out).
In all the other committees all it takes is a majority vote to get it out.

SJP is pretty in comparison. This woman and her daughters would be the wicked step mother and step daughter and SJP would be cinderella. They are so obnoxious and they really aren't NYer's....they portray NY as the home of uber rich people who are over educated, over absorbed in themselves and stressing about stupid unimportant things. The show can make you hate NYC and it portrays the city unfairly and the people of NYC aren't like these people. These people I would bet are not NYC born and bred. They seem like transplants trying to capitalize

I don't like any of these assholes who sale their political careers as "service". "When I served as speaker...", yada, yada.
None of these jackasses "served" or we wouldn't be in this mess. They were served - period.
Newt had some good pragmatic political ideas that did some good but ultimately they did nothing to change the course the country was on, and is still on that will probably mean the end of America as a power in the world.
If he gets nominated, I'm going to do my best Alec Baldwin impression and leave this country. (full disclosure - have been planning for some time anyway. This would merely accelerate the move.)

Dr. Savage spent quite a bit of time on this last night. He also suggested the recession was just something cooked up by Republicans to get elected.

Any republican that can sit on the same couch as Nazi Pelosi, isn't one worth taking seriously on any subject. Much less one having anything to do with what the TEA party should, or shouldn't do.

How to put pressure or publicity on Holder to prosecute Sherrod? If theses statements had been made by a white person they would already be in jail. Holder? Hello? Doing it again?
Ok, got a plan. First, we dress Hannah Giles like a hooker. Then we get a hidden camera.
After this of course the details get a bit fuzzy, but so far I'm liking the first part of the plan.

In the beginning she was amazing. Finding out stuff and really trying to fix things, then, all of a sudden, she just got really quiet. No more visits to CNBC no more op ed, no more press conferences and I wondered where she went. The fact that THEY want her in this job makes me think that WE don't.

I was just stunned. If I call them "commuists"...they will literally discipline me and I will be ostracized. So I have to watch what I say. As it is, I'm merely being tolerated now and only because I am an independent and they think I can be swayed in their direction.

What cracks me up is that Shirley Sherrod is pulling the old, "I was taken out of context card". Makes one wonder just what context you could put remarks like that in and make them sound even somewhat acceptable. Unless her claim is she was doing stand up comedy, I think that one is pretty much dead in the water.
Sorry Shirley, but if we want jokes that really aren't meant to be jokes and simply aren't funny at all, we can always get Kathy Griffin.

Seems like everything that used to have a purpose is now just a tool for the racist Democratic party.

I've read and spoken to so many people who apparently weren't satisfied with the GS settlement. If she brings more cases but they have a similar outcome then you can assume people will be doing a lot of grumbling. I think she thinks that anything she does is better than what was done before, which appears from the outside to be, nothing. However, I don't think Americans will agree with her assessment. they aren't going to be satisfied with "just something more than before", they actually want to see the agency working and being effective 24/7, 7 days a week and producing suits and solutions.
