Justin,
I was actually thinking something similar yesterday. I thought it would be hilarious if Barney Frank slipped a provision into the billl that required all men to pinch his ass when they were in the same room.

Look I agree that it is time to put a plug in all of the racial shit started, incidentally, by the Great Uniter himself, but this sappy shit is going to put people off. One – it isn’t true, and Two – it will only make things worse.
Her dammed motto my in fact be “Lets Work Together”, but it is also obvious from the other shit she has said that there are a few caveats attached to that motto.
I propose a different motto. How about “Lets Ditch the Bullshit and the Lying Making It a Hell of a Lot More Likely That We Will Be Able To Work Together”?

Wall Street Journal:
To Protest Hiring of Nonunion Help, Union Hires Nonunion Pickets
Jobless Recruits Get Minimum Wage 'To March Around and Sound Off'
WASHINGTON—Billy Raye, a 51-year-old unemployed bike courier, is looking for work.
Fortunately for him, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters is seeking paid demonstrators to march and chant in its current picket line outside the McPherson Building, an office complex here where the council says work is being done with nonunion labor.
For a lot of our members, it's really difficult to have them come out, either because of parking or something else," explains Vincente Garcia, a union representative who is supervising the picketing.
So instead, the union hires unemployed people at the minimum wage—$8.25 an hour—to walk picket lines. Mr. Raye says he's grateful for the work, even though he's not sure why he's doing it. "I could care less," he says. "I am being paid to march around and sound off."
Protest organizers and advocacy groups are reaping an unexpected benefit from continued high joblessness. With the national unemployment rate currently at 9.5%, an "endless supply" of the out-of-work, as well as retirees seeking extra income, are lining up to be paid demonstrators, says George Eisner, the union's director of organization. Extra feet help the union staff about 150 picket lines in the District of Columbia and Baltimore each day.

Now You See It, Now You Don't: An Infrared Invisibility Cloak Made of Glass
ScienceDaily (July 22, 2010) — From Tolkien's ring of power in The Lord of the Rings to Star Trek's Romulans, who could make their warships disappear from view, from Harry Potter's magical cloak to the garment that makes players vanish in the video game classic "Dungeons and Dragons", the power to turn someone or something invisible fascinates humankind. But who ever thought that a scientist at Michigan Technological University would be serious about building a working invisibility cloak?

WASHINGTON – New jobless claims jumped last week by the most since February, reversing the previous week's sharp decline. The rise is partly a result of seasonal factors but also reflects the job market's weakness.
New claims for unemployment insurance jumped by 37,000 to a seasonally adjusted 464,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.
The sharp increase comes after claims fell steeply two weeks ago to their lowest level since August 2008. But much of that drop was driven by temporary seasonal factors and not an improving job market.
Recovery Summer keeps rolling along. I thought Barry created 300 trillion new jobs

What is going on at the RNC. The democrats are hated and the RNC is hiding 7-8 million in debt?
I liked Michael Steele and I know he can't be blamed for everything that goes wrong, but come on man, how bad are things going to get over there before he steps down?
The RNC should be raising money hand over fist. If they would just support their base instead of the establishment candidates they would be rolling in the money. They can't even bring themselves to pretend to support the Tea Party groups or ideas.
The RNC and other GOP committees are going to prevent a landslide in novermber because of their incompetence

Not that it will do much good, as the people who should read his column are too busy checking out the latest swill from HuffPoo and Kos. Not that they could understand reasoned, civil opinion if they tried....

And I have another dammed thing to say:
People are looking at this whole "Journalist" mashup like the opinions voiced by the jackass members of the "Journalist" are unique to them.
These are democrat views, widely held throughout the democrat party. As embarrassing as they should be to democrats everywhere - they aren't.
Just an example; I play golf with a lefty. He's a nice guy but he sees left wing ideology in contrast to right wing ideology in a whole different way than I do, obviously. When I want to beat this guy I bring up politics. It gets him so spun up he can't play.
For months I've pushed him to admit that his views were socialist. He violently refused to admit it until last week.
It was like he had to stick his finger down his throat to vomit the admission out but once he did, he stood solidly behind the fact that he is now openly socialist.
This guy is a successful college educated professional who fairly, imo, represents leftist dems.

July 22 (Bloomberg) -- More Americans than projected filed applications for unemployment benefits last week, a sign firings remain elevated even as the economy is expanding.
Initial jobless claims jumped by 37,000 to 464,000 in the week ended July 17, exceeding the highest estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington.
A sure sign of an economy that is "expanding" is firings remaining high and unemployment being more than the highest estimate of the "experts". Gold Red star for Shobhana Chandra of Bloomberg.com for that spin

1. She WAS lynched* by Obama and the NAACP (consider it an own goal)
2. Not everyone who is lynched is innocent
3. This is immagry you will never hear from the MFM
*Lynching (wrongly synonymous with hanging) is extrajudicial punishment carried out by a mob, sometimes by hanging, but also by, tarring and feathering and being carried out of town on a rail, or other public recriminations in order to punish a transgressor.

that's not great news. all it says is 48 percent of people don't want him president, which i think is almostexact number of people who voted against him in the election. Sure he is down 12-13 percent, but it doesn't appear any of those 12-13 percent have switched sides. They just aren't openly backing him anymore. It doesn't mean they won't vote for him.

It does not excuse Sherrod and it certainly does not excuse those audience members who uttered comments of agreement with the idea of discrimination against someone of a different skin color. But the lack of the whole story shifts the focus away from the problem Breitbart was trying to highlight to making Sherrod into a martyr. If nothing else, the bomb he thought he had backfired as well as "front-fired" Just about everyone involved with this mess has mud on them... with the possible ironic exception of Sherrod.

Shirley Sherrod said she'd like President Barack Obama to reach out to her, not for an apology but for a conversation about what life is like where "the rubber meets the road."
"He hasnÂ’t lived the kind of life I've lived," she said on CNN's morning show.
"I know he's African-American or part African-American, and many of us are not totally black in our genes. I'm one of them. But when you get down to where the rubber meets the road, I think he needs to understand a little more of what life is like at that level."
So, Obama is a not "black, black"??? If she keeps talking like that, she can shift the focus back to racism and away from the missing part of the tape. Now let Obama be dumb enough to give her a "beer summit."Posted by: Leigh T at July 22, 2010 07:35 AM (UwAO5)
61 Andy McCarthy @ NRO nails it re: Sherrod.
Yes, and isn't it obvious that the reaction of the audience very nicely "refutiates" the NAACP's credibility in calling the Tea Party racist:
1. They demonstrate their own racism in reaction to the speaker's admission of her own racist motivations.
2. They demonstrate that they regard all disagreements with their agenda as racially motivated.
3. They are clearly the majority of the NAACP, not a fringe, and not agents provocateur.

Late to the post, but in before the spam.
I was reading my local fishwrap's editorial today titled "Playing Politics with the Unemployed'" or some such shit. In one paragraph, the writer opined that spending unspent stimulus money to extend unemployment benefits would be counter productive since the money is needed to create jobs. In the very next paragraph, the purveyor of this pap parroted Pelosi (alliteration!) claiming that unemployment benefits were excellent stimulus since the money gets circulated.
Yeah, I called the writer retarded. Again.
