The White House Correspondents Association is moving Fox News up to the front row in the briefing room, according to sources familiar with the process. The WHCA board's decision was unanimous.
Since veteran journalist Helen Thomas retired, three news organizations—Fox News, Bloomberg News, and NPR-have argued that they should move to the front row. Fox News will join the broadcast networks and CNN up front.
However, Fox News will not be taking Thomas's long-held seat in the center.
The Associated Press moves to the center under the new set-up, with Fox News taking the wire service's spot in the front row.
The decision was obviously a result of racism

Pete Stark did nothing more than what Kagan did when asked about the hypothetical Vegetable Consumption Act.
Enumerated powers doctrine? Never heard of it.
As applied would be systematic violation of Fourth Amendment? Whatev.
Unless the US Constitution plans to come out of its vault with guns blazing, I'm not seeing much support for the notion of limited government in the federal government.
And to be fair to the Donks, where did GWB find the right to boner pills for seniors in that old tome? It's been a gradual erosion over the last hundred years.

An illegal alien in Polk County Florida who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop ended up ‘executing’ the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. A state-wide manhunt ensued.
The murderer was found hiding in a wooded area and as soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire on him. They hit the guy 68 times. Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor undocumented immigrant 68 times.
Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel: "Because thatÂ’s all the ammunition we had." Now, is that just about the all-time greatest answer or what!
The Coroner also reported that the illegal alien died of natural causes. When asked by a reporter how that could be since there were 68 bullet wounds in his body, he simply replied “when you are shot 68 times you are naturally gonna die.”

curious 23, I agree with the first three of his four complaints against the Republicans. He should add Phil Gramm's removal of the Glass-Steagall firewall to that list.
But honestly, the fourth of his complaints is silly. The mechanical trades are better done by robots than by men. Even if Michigan weren't run by dolts, the assembly-line guys were going to have to retrain anyway. If service jobs are in too little demand ("low-paid" and "part-time"), they are still more in demand than the job of putting together a 1981 Chrysler. This was going to happen whatever party was in charge.

Here you have a bunch of welfare leaches sucking 144,000 a year for just one girl and her 8 illegitimate brats. Multiply that by the entire city and you will see why the urban areas are all going bankrupt and need taxpayer bailout.

Collecting rainwater now illegal in many states as Big Government claims ownership over our water http://bit.ly/cOJkMz
It's illegal in Utah to divert rainwater without a valid water right, and Mark Miller of Mark Miller Toyota, found this out the hard way.
After constructing a large rainwater collection system at his new dealership to use for washing new cars, Miller found out that the project was actually an "unlawful diversion of rainwater." Even though it makes logical conservation sense to collect rainwater for this type of use since rain is scarce in Utah, it's still considered a violation of water rights which apparently belong exclusively to Utah's various government bodies.
"Utah's the second driest state in the nation. Our laws probably ought to catch up with that," explained Miller in response to the state's ridiculous rainwater collection ban.
Salt Lake City officials worked out a compromise with Miller and are now permitting him to use "their" rainwater, but the fact that individuals like Miller don't actually own the rainwater that falls on their property is a true indicator of what little freedom we actually have here in the U.S. (Access to the rainwater that falls on your own property seems to be a basic right, wouldn't you agree?)

Vic,
Police and fire departments tend to over-hire during good times. And, because they are so visible, they are easy targets.
At the risk of incurring the wrath of many, most fire departments are unbelievably bloated. Their response times are designed for bygone times, before sprinkler systems, modern construction, smoke detectors, etc. NYC could gut their department with no effect on the death rate.
Cops are a different story, because one could argue that every marginal increase will decrease some crime. But I would argue that there are too many cops in many towns, mine included.
Why is it that government bloat is a great target, except for cops and firemen?

I don't think that is the case for E. St. Loius. They have some of the highest crime rates in the country and they are talking about laying off 30% of the actual police force.
Here is the original story
Layoffs to gut East St. Louis police force
EAST ST. LOUIS • The Rev. Joseph Tracy said he’s tired of going to funerals. And now, he suspects he’ll be going to more of them.
"ItÂ’s open field day now," said Tracy, the pastor of Straightway Baptist Church here. "The criminals are going to run wild."
St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks announced that the city will layoff 37 employees, including 19 of its 62 police officers, 11 firefighters, four public works employees, and three administrators. The layoffs take effect on Sunday.

Kings only come about through merit (reaching the far side of the board).
And best of all, the object of the game is to KILL ALL OF YOUR OPPONENT'S PIECES.

State and Local Debt Bombs Ticking Throughout US Heartland
The 50 states have racked up a record $2.4 trillion in bond debt during the economic downturn — the highest level of state and local indebtedness in history, economic analysts warn.
State and local bond debts now consume 22 percent of the nation’s annual gross domestic product (GDP) — a bigger slice of the economic pie than ever before, according to Manhattan Institute senior fellow and City Journal senior editor Steven Malanga.
Based on an analysis of federal data on state indebtedness, Malanga calculates that state and local debt has skyrocketed from 12 percent of GDP in 1980, to 15 percent of GDP in 2000, to an estimated 22 percent in 2010. ThatÂ’s the highest it has ever been, and those figures do not include the estimated $3 trillion in state and local pension obligations.

Finally some people are hearing the alarm clock:
For the first since President Obama took office, voters see his policies as equally to blame with those of President George W. Bush for the countryÂ’s current economic problems.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters now think ObamaÂ’s policies are to blame for the continuing bad economy, up three points from last month. Forty-seven percent (47%) say the recession that began under Bush is at fault.

Police chiefs are in favor of gun control because they long ago ceased to be policemen, and are now politicians with a uniform they wear to press conferences and a rusted gun in the bottom drawer of their desk.

Those organizations are dominated by the big city police chiefs. The big city police chiefs are all products of the Democrat Machine Party structure.
Democrats ALL support gun control. They are just not pushing it lately because it is a loser at the voting booth. But they will never pass up an opportunity to stick it to gun owners when they get a chance. They just try to do it via stealth now.

he is allowing the suit against the U.S. government to proceed, saying
no court has ever ruled on whether it's constitutional to require
Americans to purchase a product.

But if there is some kind of "disparate impact", then it is easily explained as thus: it is my understanding that history has reliably shown that after a ethnic group finally gains political power in America with an electorate that is often of an educational and economic level below that which could be called middle class for the time, it is not unusual for the first one or two political generations to have enhanced levels of corruption compared to what the levels will be later (e.g., Irish and Italian-Americans in large cities). Rural environments may offer a counter to this (Germans in Pennsylvania, Jacksonian Anglo-Americans), perhaps more because of lack of opportunity for graft/corruption than anything else.
Naturally, saying this in America today gets one burned at the stake.

Letter from last week: (Cuccinelli is a libtard's worst nightmare)
Dear Friends,
I know it's been a while since I've written each of you - but I wanted to send out a note to stay tuned and be a expecting a major announcement in the healthcare case. The judge in the case is expected to announce his decision on the motion to dismiss within the next week.
Obviously this decision has huge ramifications - and as an early supporter of this cause, rest assured that we'll let you know as soon as the decision has been made.
If Virginia's case survives this hurdle, a summary judgment hearing is scheduled for October 18th to decide if the federal health care law is unconstitutional.

Let's see what the repubs do after Labor Day. Most people do not pay attention to politics in the summer. Too much else going on with vacations and kids out of school, etc. Same with the polls taken now. The anger is building on its own so the money would be better spent when you combine anger and attention. But yes, they better be coming up with ideas to be ready for the Fall campaigns when they really start.

That definitely sounds extreme, particularly in SLC where there's plenty of mountain snow run off for the state to "capture and release" water through traditional methods of dams, reservoirs and irrigation canals.
This Utah law certainly makes the point that of all states finding the "righteous" sort of fascism acceptable, Utah manages to with flying colors. If this is an old 19th century state law, it would show how easily a community could evict an undesirable farmer from their midst, denying water but what the earth absorbs upon impact of rain. Irrigation verboten.
