"The November elections are like the battle of Poitiers or the seige of Vienna. If those battles had gone a different way, the entire history of the world would have been different. In the November elections, this country will be at stake."

6 Aug. 20 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama and fellow Democrats have run out of time and tools to generate growth as a historic government intervention to rescue the economy runs up against the limits of the November election calendar.

In his travels across the country, Obama has been reminding voters of problems from the Bush years, likening the economy to a car driven into a ditch by Bush and the Republican Party.

“Bush is still a very effective bogeyman for Democrats,” Lehane said. “For Republicans, this is a negative brand writ large: Democrats are going to raise your taxes.”

Blame Bush. What a brilliant strategy. After 1.5 years in office Barry is still responsible for nothing.

#8, I prefer that Obama remain incompetent, finishing his waffle, blaming Bush, playing golf, and taking his Wookie for a walk on Date Night.

The more that Obama accomplishes in the socialist remaking of America, the more work that is needed to undo it. If he'd pledge to just play 18 holes a day at Congressional or Burning Tree for the rest of his term and not sign anything, I'd actually feel somewhat relieved.

Because you've been good little morons, more Obama quotes:

"There are still passages that I read in the Bible where I say, well, this doesn't make any sense."

"I'm proud of the fact that I stood up early and unequivocally in opposition to Bush's foreign policy. That opposition hasn't changed."

"I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

"The United States should be more modest in out belief that we can impose democracy on a country through military force."

"The heightened focus on marriage is a distraction from other, attainable measures to prevent discrimination of gays and lesbians."

"Any black person in America who's successful has to be able to speak several forms of the same language. You take on different personas as you do, when you have to. There's nothing wrong with it. You're going to speak differently  on the golf course with your golf buddies than you are with your buddies around the kitchen table."

"The party has not updated its vision and its message. We haven't painted a picture of where we want to take the country."

"We should have every child speaking more than one language. It's embarrassing when Europeans come over here, they all speak English, they speak French, they speak German. And when we go over to Europe and all we can say is merci beaucoup, right?"

"This notion that's been peddled by the religious right-that they are opressed-is not true. Sometimes it's a cynical ploy to move their agenda ahead. The classic example being that somehow secularists are trying to eliminate Christmas, which strikes me as some kind of manufactured controversy."

I think Speaker Pelosi raises a valid question and it deserves an answer. My active opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque was paid for by a secessionist militia member hailing from Coventry, Connecticut, Until his untimely death, he went by the name of Nathan Hale, but since I have not seen his birth certificate, I cannot tell you if that is in fact his real name.

The price he paid to purchase my speech was astronomical, but if the Speaker's investigation finds that exchange illegal or improper, I am prepared to repay Mr Hale in kind and in full.

I should also here note that I am an un-undocumented immigrant. I am prepared to show Ms Pelosi my papers if demanded.

98 I was in Colombia at the time they took out the FARC leader and it was front page news in Colombia that they had found Democrats on the laptops of FARC leaders. As usual, nothing ever came of it. 102 Oh, and Madame Speaker: These conspirators have a larger plot to advance their extremist agenda. Not openly in  the streets, like SEIU. These little sneaks are going to hide behind curtains in little booths across America and act in concert to undermine the policies of our elected government. I believe this cowardly, unAmerican terror attack is planned for November 2. Can you find a way to stop them?

106 After years of hearing Democrats joke about people having a "personal relationship with Jesus Christ," we are now told that we should believe that Obama has an unseen "personal relationship with Jesus Christ."
What a joke.
Frankly, this man wears religion like a suit, different religions for different occasions.  Sort of a "religious camelion."  Quite cynical, if you ask me.

115 So there's gonna be yet another "jump start" to the Mideast peace talks at the same moment that an Israeli/Iranian conflict seems most likely.
Prediction:
The day Israeli finally takes action, they will be blamed for derailing these "fragile peace talks", which will justify yet another decade of Libs aiding and abetting the Palis and their terrorist heroes.

116 I like your chances of repealing Obamacare, based on my completely subjective experience on a recent roadtrip to NC.

Normally when my husband and I go to the USA, if our Canadianness is even noticed, no one really cares.  This time, we ended up staying a bit longer than planned and my husband ran out of insulin in Indiana.

In order to get a prescription we had to find a doctor, which we did within an hour (that has never happened at home.  I've never had less than 3 week's wait for an appointment with my own doc).  When we talked to the doc we spent about 3 minutes getting the prescription, and 45 minutes answering questions about Canada's health care system.  Three of the clinic's doctors came in to talk to us, and they were extremely focused and grim.

Of random citizens we met along the way, nearly every one wanted to talk about health care as soon as they found out where we were from.  It was surreal, and unlike anything I've experienced on prior trips.  Nearly everyone we talked to was worried and upset, even before we told them about what they had to look forward to.

Of course, our sample pretty much consisted of middle class folks and medical staff, so not quite a complete cross-section of the nation.  But I did not meet one person who was happy about the change.  Good luck, friends.

Posted by: Mallamutt at August 20, 2010 09:38 AM (OWjjx)

THE DEMS BROUGHT IT ON THEMSELVES, SO FUCK IT. The party that contemplated DEMON PASS to shove a massive takeover of healthcare, a bill they hadn't even read and passed on Christmas Eve, has proven they are interested only in power, not transparency. Nobody trusts that they properly vetted Obama, who has passed an executive order immediately upon taking office (after botching an oath) that his records are off limit, who has spent an exorbitant amount on legal fees to challenge the standing of any cases, who has given conflicting accounts of his birth and upbringing, who produced an actual forged birth certificate, who sprang a mysterious trip to Pakistan while he was in college on a surprised journalist (forget which one) during the 2008 campaign... obviously he is lying about something, and the Dems and their media allies will keep mum on it, if they even know. Pelosi should know something. DO YOU TRUST HER? DO YOU TRUST OBAMA? FUCK NO. That's what this is about. People are willing to assume the worst, because the Democrats go into race card battle mode whenever even legitimate questions about this administration come up. The Democrats gave czar positions to Maoists and Truthers, admitted enemies of our government who believe in far nuttier conspiracies than the possibility that Obama's scamming whore mother lied about his nationality to get all the perks of American citizenship for her Third World baby boy. WHY DO YOU ATTACK YOUR OWN SIDE FOR DOING NOTHING WORSE THAN WHAT YOUR OPPONENTS DID SUCCESSFULLY? If polling shows that significant portions of both parties believe Obama might be a closeted Muslim or a foreigner, shut up. Don't defend a Democrat and make their argument for them. The burden of proof is on their party and their nominal leader.

118 We put McCain through the ringer about Panama. It's hardly racist to ask that states do the same for every candidate before putting them on the ballot, but Democrats have a problem with even that much. "Yeah we remember how the GOP went after Roosevelt's third term."

Posted by: Tattoo De Plane at August 20, 2010 08:13 AM (mHQ7T)

119 103 Is this what church is like in some of these Christain sects....you sit there and the preacher screams at you and tells you you have to give everything up cause you are responsible for what went on in your generations and you need to give reparations.   When did Jesus say this?

You must understand, Pfleger was not really talking to the congregation when he talked about "you" have to give up things.  His audience considered themselves the recipients.

It was funny to see him talk about all of the stuff these evil rich people got, like trust funds, etc.  Yeah, we're all sitting on a fat trust fund, rev.

124 So this Canadian guy is trying to explain to Rush why Walmart organizes, just like labor.  I get so frustrated when Rush or Hannity or any of the talkers misses (to me, at least) the biggest difference between Walmart's organization and a labor union's:  Walmart organizes to offer the best product for the best price that they can in the hope that the customer will give them money.  Labor unions organize in order to coerce Walmart to give them money with the threat of physical action if they don't.  Unions threaten to harm Walmart's business if their demands are not met.

I feel that a coerced transaction, made under threat of physical, financial, whatever sort, but made under threat of harm is not a legitimate transaction between two consenting parties.  Unions threaten, Walmart entices.  There is your difference.  If unions got together and had meetings on how to be better employees and produce more for the company so the company could make more and pay more to the union, then they would be more like Walmart.

Anyway, sorry to rant, but when leftists want to defend their threatened use of force by using free market terminology it gets my blood boiling.
