LOL, more good times and break out the popcorn:

Greenville Republican Party rebukes Graham

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Republican Party has rebuked U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham for what it calls his cooperation and support of President Barack Obama and the Democrats' liberal agenda.

The party said in a resolution on Monday that the South Carolina senator has voted for a bank bailout program that will increase the national debt, in favor of two of Obama's liberal U.S. Supreme Court nominees and has promoted amnesty for illegal immigrants.

It also says Graham has "repeatedly demonstrated contempt and arrogance" to GOP members who support party beliefs.

The party says Graham will no longer be invited to attend Greenville GOP meetings and events.

Kevin Bishop, a spokesman for Graham, issued a statement early Wednesday that said Graham believes it is "time for Republicans to pull together."

This is the fourth such a call down on Graham since he was reelected in 2008. What is remarkable about this one is that this is now in his own home territory.  Too bad there is no recall provisions for Senators. I firmly believe we could recall this SOB if there were. Hoever, if there were recall provisions the SOB probably would act more like a conservative rather than a RINO squish.

Over at Fox they have a story about putting TV cameras in the Supreme Court. It is something being pushed by that asshole Arlen “Not proven” Specter.

Momentum Builds for Cameras Inside the Supreme Court

Senator Arlen Specter, D-Penn., says he's moving closer to pushing through a law that would require television coverage from inside the Supreme Court.

"They like to run their own show and staying under the radar so to speak enables them to do pretty much as they please," Specter told Fox News. He thinks the court's rulings would better mirror public opinion if the outside world is able to watch the justices on a regular basis.  Specter notes that Congress has administrative oversight over the Supreme Court but acknowledges that the justices would have the final word if they declared the camera law unconstitutional.

Specter's bill passed through the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this year and the outgoing senator says it will "soon" move to the Senate floor.

This asshole is about to disappear so he can be gone and take this shit with him. Not only do we not need cameras in the Supreme Court, we donÂ’t need them in the committee hearings either.

Cameras do NOTHING but allow the asshole politicians to get more free face time and preen for the camera. The committee hearings were already a joke before cameras come along and now they are totally worthless.

This is an idea who time has not come. Lets expedite Snarlen Arlen going out the door and tell him to take his shitty ass cameras with him.

Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Consumer spending and personal incomes in the U.S. unexpectedly stagnated in June, showing a lack of jobs is hurting the biggest part of the economy.

The little changed reading on purchases followed a 0.1 percent gain the prior month that was smaller than previously estimated, Commerce Department figures showed today in Washington. Incomes didnÂ’t increase for the first time since September and the savings rate rose to a one-year high.

Recovery Summer!!!! The only thing that is expected is the unexpected.

Barry will have to go out and create invent some more new jobs.

From that link:

Additionally, pages 264-265 require that any new construction or remodel of an existing structure must include the installation of proper hookups for charging an electric vehicle.

One wonders if the scaled back bill has the provisions in it like the House bill that requires a complete remodeling/rebuild of your house to CA "green" standards any time you do anything to it.

Time again to All Hail the Glorious Bounce from the Passage of the People's Glorious Healthcare bill.

Ace already noted that Gallup gave the Repubicans an 5 point advantage on the generic ballot. Rasmussen came out yesterday as well and gave the Republicans an plus 8 on the generic ballot. And remember, if its Rasmussen, its Hitler approved.

Rasmussen also released a poll on the South Carolina governor race showing Nikki Haley beating her Democratic opponet and Sacred Honor by 14, 49-35. No word yet on whether Lindsey Graham wanted to reach across the aisle for Sacred Honor. Survey USA released one yesterday showing Congressman Heath Schuler (D-Interception!) ahead of his Republican challenger by 1, 45-44. This congressional race has always been rated a toss-up, and the fact that Schuler is stuck around 45 is a positive. Plus, according to political savant Nancy "Botox" Pelosi (D- Botox) all the Democratic Congresscritters were supposed to get a big bounce once healthcare passed.

Once again, All Hail the Glorious Bounce from the Passage of the People's Glorious Healthcare bill.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner acknowledged that it is still a "tough economy" for most Americans, and warned it's possible the unemployment rate will go up for a couple of months before it comes down as more people enter the labor force.

"When they see a little hope that there may be jobs out there, they start to come back in again. And that can cause the measured unemployment rate to go up — temporarily,"

Six Louisiana teens die in sinkhole in river.

Unbelievably sad.  The real tragedy?  They were all holding hands.  They walked near the sinkhole and one by one they fell in.  Why did they die?  Because they could not swim.

I denounce myself preemptively, but why are there still black kids that don't know how to swim.  It's 2010.  Are schools really that fucking useless, and summer vacations really so mind-numbing and indoor-focused that the old "blacks can't swim" stereotype is allowed to live on?

I know the answer.

But why are our "education" dollars being spent for the featherbedding of public servants' retirement accounts instead of teaching basic drownproofing and water treading.

18 feet.  I could swim down 18 feet by age 10.  There were "teens"

You are so right, when I went to college you were required to learn how to swim to graduate.  My roommate, a country boy, had to take swimming 3 times to pass and graduate.  The first day they made everyone jump in the pool and swim a lap, the poor guy begged them to just put in the class.  Nope he had to jump in, sank like a rock.  I think he was prouder of learning how to swim that getting a BS in Mech Engineering.

Can not do this now, Handicap law or something.  A kid actually drowned at a Frat initiation, he was a Junior, so everyone knew he had passed swimming.  They threw him in a pond and he drowned.

71 I denounce myself preemptively, but why are there still black kids that don't know how to swim.

I read that article because they have recently formed a group here to concentrate on teaching black children how to swim. It seems that the statistics are really bad for black children drowning because they do not know how to swim.

What I found astounding about that article was that both families parents were there with their children.  To me taking your children to play in the RIVER when they do not know how to swim is the veritable height of stupidity!  Could this be the major contributor to the higher rate of drowning or is it this:

When I was a kid there were 3 public swimming pools in the town of about 5K people.  In that same town now with a population of 20K there are ZERO public swimming pools.  The lawyers have shut them down.

I am not saying this to bash lawyers, but the ease at which people can sue AND collect has made it impossible to open a public swimming pool anymore.

So people who can not afford the cost of a private pool, or who live in apartments are forced to swim in places like the river. Swimming in the river is inherently dangerous compared to a pool and it is the height of insanity when you can not swim at all.

Any new mosque becomes a "waqf" or "holy" Islamic land which suggests every Muslim must wage jihad to defend it per sharia law.  This motivates jihadis globally, from Jerusalem or Thailand to Malmo or London.  Any land captured by Islam is theirs forever.  This is why HAMAS leaders occasionally talk about moving the jihad to Spain if Israel is destroyed.

In addition, letting Muslims convert (da'wa) others while they threaten and actually kill apostates (again, per sharia law) is not very 'tolerant' as it turns out.  It's like setting up a giant Human (See: Roach) Motel and suggesting everyone needs to support it to prove their tolerance.

Moreover, nobody seems to care about the source of the hundred million or so dollars required to fund the mega-monstrosity mosque.  Let me guess: starts with "Saudi" and ends with "Arabia".

I denounce myself preemptively, but why are there still black kids that don't know how to swim.

aside from the context which you gave this in which was extremely sad, i will admit, that it is one of the funniest stereotypes in America and we have a lot to choose from.

Its just so freaking absurd. I have no idea how it came about. Is there something in African American culture that shuns large bodies of water or the ability to traverse them without a boat?

82 The only option now is $100 a month for the Y.

That is the same here. I don't know what they are doing in my old home town. The Y gives swimming lessons but it costs. They do have a program for "underprivileged" children but even that still costs something.

That is why they have formed a "volunteer" group to teach black children to try to get the numbers down. I would have preferred they make it an "economic" group instead of by race but I guess you can't have everything.

My husband (Frog-Wop) can't swim.

'Not sure teaching kids to swim is a school issue.  For one thing, I doubt that the majority of schools have swimming pools.  Mine certainly didn't.

Can you imagine the liability schools would incur if they put kids near water?  As it stands I'm amazed they still have kids climbing ropes and doing balance beams in standard gym classes.

Morning all!  We get a real bed delivered in a couple of days... which is good news as sleeping on these air mattress thingies is getting pretty old!

87 83 I am not saying this to bash lawyers, but the ease at which people can sue AND collect has made it impossible to open a public swimming pool anymore.

Same here.  There was a "private club" in town that anybody could afford to join.  My wife and I spent about every day there during the summers.  Gone now.  Big olympic pool and a 12 foot deep diving pool.  Heaven for a kid.  The only option now is $100 a month for the Y.

Seems like the only "companies" that can afford to advertise on TV are Lawyers suing drug companies, companies advising people how to avoid paying all their taxes and companies hawking gold.

All of them are a sad commentary on where this country is and where Barry is taking it.  No tort reform so the vultures are circling the carcass, people making money telling people it's ok not to pay their fair share, and people basically admitting that the dollar is worthless.

95 For a semester, I had to teach incoming freshman who failed the test to swim, almost exclusively black kids. It wasn't a lack of access to resources - I had to teach kids that went to pools all the time - but a real fear of deep water. I chalked it up to their lower body fat index - meaning they needed more basic instruction.

I think the break point started around 1965 with the Great Society and the welfare State. It started a generation of people who were raised with the mindset of "you are not responsible for your own actions" and "the government owes me a living".

Also, it was about this time that the liberals really began taking over the State legislatures and getting all these "make work for Lawyers" bills passed.

As that generation came of age in the 70s and 80s we can not see the huge impact.

Now, on the "it only happens to Morgenholz front", I just found my wedding ring with a metal detector.  Yesterday morning the chickens were out and picking at bugs by the garden as Frau was weeding, etc.  When I went out to say bye before heading to work, I picked up one of said chickens, who got pissed and started kicking, thereby hooking a claw under the wedding ring and stripping it from my finger, flinging it into a stand of tall weeds.  Took me 45 minutes to find it in a 3X3 area.

Watch turnout in the Michigan Republican and Democratic primaries (today).

Both parties have highly competitive governor's primaries (Hoekstra vs. Cox vs. Snyder, GOP;  Bernero vs. Dillon, DEM).

It'll be interesting to see how many vote in both primaries.  A Hoekstra win will tell you that the West side of the state (conservative) turned out big time.

Watch the Democratic turnout closely.  If Dems have a strong turnout, that could signal that the union-base of the Democratic party is going to be motivated to show up in November.

A recent info email:

Joys of Muslim Women
by Nonie Darwish

In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child. Consummating the marriage by 9. The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy.
Even though a woman is abused she cannot obtain a divorce. To prove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses.  Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an honour killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives 'at will' and he does not have to say why he has beaten her.
The husband is permitted to have (4 wives) and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion. The Shariah Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman.

In the West World ( America ) Muslim men are starting to demand Shariah Law so the wife can not obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her.  It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Shariah law.

56 Both of my teenagers are life guards. They cannot figure out why the african-americans can't swim. They have never had to jump in for anyone else. What they find most weird is that not only can they not swim, they go ahead and get in water over their heads and then "expect" to be saved. Then they do it again. Now the club has a wrist band policy for anyone under 18 where they have to pass a swim test to go past 4 feet. Only the adults who can't swim now get "saved". Why would you go off a diving board when you know you can't swim? It's like the "government" is responsible for your respiration.

It's not going to get any better until we get smart and start deporting them (at least), and banning their BS religion.  Amend the constitution - single out Islam and all variants and define them as criminal organizations.  No more muzzies in, and all current muzzies out.  By whatever means necessary.  Every mosque should be seized with eminent domain, razed, and the land turned over for useful purposes.  Short of that, we're just waiting for them to finally figure out how to beat us.

201 Speaking of floating etc. back when my daughter was young and we had the pool she was always on me about allowing her to go to the pool and swim without either one of us parents being there.

I told her she first had to pass the Navy swim test I had in boot camp. Go off the diving board into the water feet first while fully clothed (long pants). Float on her back for 5 minutes. Then remove her pants and make flotation devices from them and float using them for another 5 minutes, then swim the length of the pool back and forth 3 times.

She never did take me up on that.

For a summer camp in high school, in order to be allowed to do any of the water-based activities, you had to pass a swim test that included three laps of the cordoned-off swim area of the lake, and also treading water in your clothes for five minutes.

The laps wouldn't have been so bad if that test hadn't been after the five minutes of active treading.  Floating was not permitted, you had to tread.  That was way harder than I thought it would be.

I must be thinking wrong, because I can't imagine that pants would make a very good flotation device.  Assuming you got an air pocket in the legs and tied them off, aren't they still going to leak the air through the fabric?  Drop me some knowledge plz, Vic.

Sadly you're right.  Like almost every real improvement to America, it's a do-it-yourself project for the normal citizens.  It will be a challenge to get this done within the law.  But the consequences of failure are so extreme as to be unthinkable.  I feel well justified in my belief that nobody should be having kids these days - if we don't fix this mess, and quick, there will be no future worth living in.

Personally I suspect that the Left is, unwittingly, pushing us to civil war.  If so, a lot of clean up work can be done during the time of chaos.  I doubt that there will be well defined borders to the next fratricidal conflict, which means that opportunities for local action will aboud.  Those who are motivated to clean up their neighborhoods may be able to take effective action with nothing more than quality small arms and some basic organization.  After all, in occupied Iraq the muslims were able to do just that - killing off or driving out every Christian and Jew, while the soldiers were tied down elsewhere.

You take the pants off. Tie the legs in knots. Make sure all the water is out of them, hold them open at the waste behind your back and then while holding them open, swing them over your head into the water in front of you trap air inside. Close them off at the waste and hold them closed next to the front of your body. They will slowly deflate but you can repeat the process and endless number of times.

It does work.  And believe it or not, the floating with that for 5 minutes gives you a chance to rest for the lap portion of the test.

229 While at Ft Story at Va beach I watched the army teach some newbies how to do this. My sons learned it in boyscouts when they were 9. One of the army water safety instructors said that she found out that some of the guys jumping into the water from helicoptors couldn't swim and had always depended on the life vest. It was her job to teach grown men who jumped into the sea with guns how to tread. Unreal.

Every week my lifeguard sons have to swim 500 yards without stopping. Sit on the bottom of the pool for a while and be able to pick up a 10 pound weight from the bottom of the 11 feet and then swim 50 meters with the weight. It's not the picking up that's hard, it's the swimming with one arm and the weight.

What the hell is wrong with us, that we haven't rebuilt the towers, ten stories taller and more fire resistant?

225 I should write to Cohen and suggest that he write a book on American judism and its rejection of Israel. He obviously has a personal story he could relate and his perspective would certainly help those that don't understand how the American jew, hated by the Islamists, could hold so much affection for them.

I just picked up a book for my 10th graders honors english class in an expensive Catholic High School. "In search of Fatima" which I thought was about, you know, Fatima.

Instead the front of the book says, "It enables the reader to understand and to empathise with the psychological dislocation of exile that continues to fuel the Palestinian cause..."

WTF?? Oh, and the reviewer doesn't know the difference between empathise and sympathize. Idiot.

Now I'm going to have to launch into that bullshit to counteract the school's bullshit before it happens. It's a full time job to circumvent the indoctrination.

An Arab-English Hybrid, December 10, 2002

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: In Search of Fatima: A Palestinian Story (Hardcover)

Ghada Karmi's book tells the dramatic story of her search for personal and political identity. Her family was forced out of their comfortable West Jerusalem home by Jewish attacks meant to rid the area of Palestinians beginning in January 1948. Finally the infamous Deir Yassin massacre of April 9, 1948 made them realize months and weeks after most of their neighbors that their personal safety was at risk. Since the author was a girl of 9 at the time she was young enough to be strongly influenced by English culture when their family finally landed in London about a year later.

Much of Ms. Karmi's book is devoted to the story of her bumpy and courageous journey to discover whether she is English, Arab or "some kind of hybrid." As devoutly as she wished to become English, events intrude on her in both personal and political ways. She loses out in a school speaking contest not on the merits but because the judges refuse to reward a prize to the "little dark girl," instead of to an English girl. The 1956 Suez War highlights for the teenage Karmi English discrimination and hatred toward Arabs and makes her an outcast at school. Another key turning point was the smashing Israeli victory in the 1967 war which plays a role in breaking up her marriage to an Englishman. The war once again makes her an outcast and forces her to recognize that she can no longer escape her Arab identity.

Among the treasures of this book are the glimpses we get along the way of buried historical events of special concern to Palestinians. For example we learn that it was the Iraqi contingent in the war of 1948 which saved Tulkarm, a town on the West Bank, from attacking Jewish forces; and she quotes an Israeli soldier who wonders why the Iraqis didn't proceed along the road to Tel Aviv which might have turned the tide of the war. We learn that the Israeli Knesset is built on the Palestinian town of Lifta and that the Holocaust museum also is built on confiscated Palestinian land.

Finally, surveying the wreckage that is the patrimony of Palestinians today, the author has the courage to raise the question of whether the Palestinian people will remain adrift as mere "flotsam and jetsam...the detritus of history...doomed to be fragmented and dispersed." Readers will have to decide such questions for themselves and Karmi's book provides them with a unique and marvelously told Palestinian story on which to base their judgment.

Do the NYC blind clean up their service-dog poop in public or get tickets if not?

Disabled shopper banned from store after service dog poops in the aisle. That banning protocol had better apply to anyone who gets sick in the aisle or has a baby mess in the aisle.

It wasn't exactly the service dog that's banned. That dog is trained and ashamed to have made the mess. The disabled owner didn't give the dog its regular scheduled time to properly do his business, and didn't attempt to pick up after the accident.
