I work with a total Obama zombie. If Barry murdered this guy's wife he'd still love Barry. He's also a huge St. Cardinals fan. It has been pure joy to send him articles and video of Tony LaRussa and Albert Pujols at the Beck rally. He's just baffled as to why they would go to something like that

Aug. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Home prices in 20 U.S. cities rose more than forecast in June from a year earlier, reflecting the influence of a government tax incentive and a sign the market was stabilizing before sales plunged in July.
So if that was a sign of a stabilizing market why did it plunge when the tax incentive went away? The stupidity of the people at bloomberg is astounding

The reason they were getting paid in the first place was to offset the losses they suffered through their business/farm/occupation being left unattended while those elected slogged through the unpleasant tasks of having to leave friends and family far behind.

I've got one for you.
The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is the last of the city's movie palaces standing. The Paramount where Oliver Hardy & DeForest Kelley both worked had been razed in 1960. Loew's Grand, where Gone With The Wind premiered, was mysteriously burned to the ground in 1978 during a preservation dispute.
So Joe Patten, the now 83 year old man, spearheaded the committee to save the Fox from a similar fate back in 1974. He reconditioned the pipe organ for free in addition to being the theatre's techincal director for many years. After the Fox received historical status, he was granted an apartment inside the theatre rent free for the rest of his life. He has been living there quietly under the conditions of his lease signed back in 1979.
Anyway, now that he's elderly, the theatre's board of directors want him gone. Yesterday, they kicked both him & his attorney out of the meeting to revoke his lease.
You can read the story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution here: http://tinyurl.com/26vcdk2
You can also contact the Fox Theatre directly here to make your opinions known. http://www.foxtheatre.org
I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.

Hottest summer ever for Columbia
In the hottest summer in Columbia history, not a single daily maximum temperature was broken.
The low temperatures were higher than normal. The records for highest minimum daily temperature were broken or tied for 10 days this summer at Columbia Metropolitan Airport.
You can't make this shit up people. Though they admit the high is due to high humidity.

The experts say many statistics still need to be crunched to come up with an answer. They also agree it’s too early — and the Columbia data is too specific to Columbia — to chalk up this summer as further proof of climate change.

This guy, and every other striped-pants Osama Obama/Hitlery Clinton toady in State should be fired immediately.
In fact, the State Department should be shut down. It's a branch of government that has a long and sordid history of playing up to enemies so the world's namby-pamby "diplomats" can sit sipping tea and nibbling cookies at taxpayer expense while the world burns around them. These people makes the drug-addled peackeniks of the 1960s sound like sensible, patriotic Americans.
I have always despised the games State plays, but under the Traitor-in-Chief they have achieved new lows. They finally have a "leader" who hates America as much as they do.

AK election officials say that Miller claim of Murk observer accessing the election database is not true. They say he tried but was not allowed.
http://tinyurl.com/2dxqhry
The Alaska Division of Elections said there was no evidence to support the Miller campaign's claim that a Murkowski ballot observer accessed the state's computerized election management system. Lt. Gov. Craig Campbell, who oversees Alaska elections, said there was no security breach but that he would keep looking into the matter because the "actions of the observer are a little frustrating." He said the observer broke the rules by texting in the ballot room and tried to bring in a bag.
Elections officials said Roman did request access to the computer with the state's voter registration system but was not allowed.
They do say that he did violate a bunch of the rules. This article is worth a read people.
Meanwhile the Miller people still say he did access the voter records computer and they have a witness. So someone IS lying.

It doesn't matter. Dubya will keep his mouth shut publicly because, like McCain, he's an old-school pol who is not used to facing opposition that crosses the line from disagreement to treason.
I'm guessing Osama Obama will ask Dubya to appear in a video with him supporting the GZ mosque. Dubya will do it.
Despite a brief appearance of strength after 9/11, Dubya is still a wimp, just like Daddy Bush. He means well, and always did, but comes up short when decisive, direct action is necessary.

This was posted on the Atalanta Fox's Facebook page last night....
Atlanta Landmarks Inc has offered Joe a new occupancy agreement to remain in his apartment. The full board has authorized the Executive Committee to negotiate a new occupancy agreement. The Fox's generosity is consistent in this agreement & he will continue to be able to live at the Fox rent free and the Fox will continue to pay the majority of his utilities. Joe is allowed to live here as long as he is able.Smart move by the theater management!

i was so horrified by that that i sent it out on my lsitserv to my buds....i mean really, that was something even a lib/dem could get behind. Nice to see the board came to their senses. Yeah, they didn't really want hundreds of phone calls form all over the country. The press picking it up. outraged public...yeah it's better to just fix it fix it...before it got out of hand.....seems someone there has half a brain.

Smart move by the theater management!
Not quite. They're trying to run the guy out. It's one thing if the guy can't take care of himself & he's too far gone for in home nursing care, but I really don't think that's the case here. This is prime real estate, folks. The Atlanta way is second only to the Chicago way (see the post above about Loew's Grand mysteriously being burned right after it made the National Historical Register).
Anyway, this is the latest from Channel 46, the CBS affiliate in Atlanta
Patten's lease from 1979 stated he could live in his apartment rent free for the rest of his life until he got a letter from the board this summer, questioning his health and claiming the theater needed to expand.
During a closed door meeting Monday night the board decided Patten could continue to live at the Fox Theater but with a new lease and new conditions.
"He can live there as long as he’s able but we are not equipped to deal with 24/7 elderly care. We are a theater first and foremost,” said Fox spokeswoman Kristen Delaney.
Patten's attorney, Emmet Bondurant...added under the new lease Patten cannot have any visitors and can be kicked out any time.
“What they offered they knew would never be accepted. It's a face saving effort, well we are not really throwing him out on the street. Yeah, they are,” said Bondurant.
“It’s really upsetting,” said Patten.
During a news conference, the board said Patten can continue to live there as long as he is physically able but the theater will have the final say so on whether Patten is healthy enough to live there.
