Re the South African baboon situation - rest assured that we'll see our own version of it soon enough with the damn do-gooders trying to make every animal a protected species. Simultaneously they do all they can to make hunting less enjoyable/affordable. Various pest animals will be allowed to run amok, and often will be planted in your back yard by the authorities. They did that with cougars here in Michigan - though they won't admit to it.
When it comes to pesky animals, the best policy is going to be the tried and true one - shoot, shovel, and shut up.

But with three of them all yammering at once now, it's headache-inducing. Chances are quite rare that both of them will disagree with Glenn, and usually both are in total, full circle jerk mode, especially when arguing against the MFM, and they sound like a clique of seventh-grade girls at the lunch table: "Oh, you are so much prettier than she is, did you see what she was wearing?"
He's changed a lot since I first started listening in 2004.

Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Companies in the U.S. unexpectedly cut workers in August, data from a private report based on payrolls showed.
Employment fell by 10,000, the first drop since January, according to figures today from ADP Employer Services. The median estimate of 35 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News called for a gain of 15,000. Forecasts ranged from a decline of 50,000 to a 55,000 increase.
It's Recovery Summer. Where the only thing that happens is the unexpected!

No circumstance gives one person the right to take another person's property. None, ever.
This is the central problem with leftist/liberal/socialist/Marxist theory.

Poor wefties - Soros' dirty money is fine, but we cannot have any money involved with the right. no no.

I've found the best response to gold by noted economist Moist von Lipwig
After finding there is no Gold in the vault Moist abandons the Gold Standard. (I've tried to say the same thing about situational valuation but clearly Pratchett does a better job.)
"The world is full of things worth more than gold. But we dig the damn stuff up and then bury it in a different hole. Where's the sense in that? What are we, magpies? Is it all about the gleam? Good heavens, potatoes are worth more than gold!"
"Surely not!," [said Ms. Cripslock]
"If you were shipwrecked on a desert island, what would you prefer, a bag of potatoes or a bag of gold?," [replied Moist]
"Yes, but a desert island isn't Ankh-Morpork!"
"And that proves gold is only valuable because we agree it is, right? It's just a dream. But a potato is always worth a potato, anywhere. A knob of butter and a pinch of salt and you've got a meal, anywhere . Bury gold in the ground and you'll be worrying about thieves for ever. Bury a potato and in due season you could be looking at a dividend of a thousand per cent."
"Can I assume for a moment that you don't intend to put us on the potato standard?" said Sacharissa sharply.

I am mystified by whomever is dressing this woman. The fashion consultant must be a secret uber-conservative and is doing a bang up job making her look as stupid as possible. It's getting really funny

I get a kick out of the response by Randy Barrett, the director of communications for the Center for Public Integrity:The Center for Public Integrity is not a left-wing group. We are a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on investigative journalism. The Center does receive funding from the Open Society Institute, but OSI is but one of dozens of foundations and individuals who have supported the Center's work over the last 20 years, including the Annenberg Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation and the Ford Foundation.

I can't say I've ever been curious about what sort of recreational items would fit inside a heavyset intern's hoohoo. There are some things normal people just don't care to find out. Maybe if I was a Democrat I'd think differently.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) used Twitter Monday to describe the
November midterms as a choice between those who would "build" and those
who would "kick ... down."
He said:
It takes a great man to build a barn. Any jackass can kick it down. Campaign '10: You with the builders or the asses?
He followed up a few hours later, replying to articles suggesting he meant "asses" to refer to Republicans.Posted by: Huh, We're the Asses? at September 01, 2010 08:32 AM (dr2E6)

I didn't even know the NHTSA did vertical drop tests. I'd give the Dodge Charger Five Stars on that one.
