Well, the State Department attempted to return Delaware back to England, who declined. They then went to the Dutch, who had Delaware for 10 minutes back in the 1600s, but they refused. Now, Hillary is in Libya, trying to convince them that Delaware only has 3 months to live and maybe they will take it.

A Los Angeles-based Saudi diplomat is seeking asylum, saying his life is endangered because he is gay and friends with a Jewish woman, according to a media report.
Ali Ahmad Asseri, first secretary of the Saudi consulate, told U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials that Saudi officials refused to renew his diplomatic passport and terminated his position after finding out about his sexual orientation and his Jewish friend, NBC News reported.
Asseri said he could face political persecution and even death if he returns to Saudi Arabia, according to the report.
"My life is in great danger here, and if I go back to Saudi Arabia, they will kill me openly in broad daylight," the report quoted Asseri as saying in an e-mail.
Actually, I'd imagine the Saudi's would be so pissed they'd kill him, dig him up and kill him again.

Last week we saw a Florida Pastor – with 30 members in his church – threaten to burn Korans which lead to riots and killings in Afghanistan. We also saw Democrats and Republicans alike assume that Pastor Jones had a Constitutional right to burn those Korans. But Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer told me that he's not prepared to conclude that -- in the internet age -- the First Amendment condones Koran burning.
“Holmes said it doesn’t mean you can shout 'fire' in a crowded theater,” Breyer told me. “Well, what is it? Why? Because people will be trampled to death. And what is the crowded theater today? What is the being trampled to death?”

It looks like the ransom was paid.
From to this story, Iran released an American woman on a bail of $500,000 Tuesday more than a year after she was detained, but authorities said they were not considering the immediate release of two companions arrested with her.

Yes wittle Baracky: Private industry [what you like to call "corporate"]-- has to compete in the market, and they do a fine job without incurring public debt. Meanwhile, the public run post office depends on our tax dollars for bailouts.
When the post office loses billions of dollars, just add it to the tax payer tab. We'll pay for it.
Good thing the dems shoved tax payer funded health care down our throats. Perfect timing, dude. More government control, more unfunded mandates, more unsustainable government bloat, more control over our lives, more cost, and less care. Thanks, much.

Justice Stephen Breyer: No Constitutional
Right to Burn Korans. The First Amendment can be suspended when Muslims
threaten to kill us.
I have no doubt that the Justice would reach a different conclusion if it was the burning of a Bible involved.
Posted by: Mallamutt at September 14, 2010 09:41 AM (OWjjx)
I talked about that yesterday. many States have hate speech codes that are applicable for this. The court has bounced around all over it because the liberals like Breyer like to ban hate speech for conservatives while allowing it for liberals.
Currently under a much divided ruling hate speech laws are unconstitutional if the suppress speech. UNLESS the speech is accompanied by an act of intimidation, then the law can be upheld (cross burning case)
What Breyer is referring to here is an "act of intimidation". And yes of course, if they burned the bible instead it would be OK.

Feds Spent $800,000 of Economic Stimulus on African Genital-Washing Program
September 13, 2010
CNS News.
By Matt Cover
(CNSNews.com) – The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.
The genitalia-washing program is part of a larger $12-million UCLA study examining how to better encourage Africans to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counseling – however, only the penis-washing study received money from the 2009 economic stimulus law. The washing portion of the study is set to end in 2011.
“NIH Announces the Availability of Recovery Act Funds for Competitive Revision Applications,” the grant abstract states. “We propose to evaluate the feasibility of a post-coital genital hygiene study among men unwilling to be circumcised in Orange Farm, South Africa.”
Because AIDS researchers have been unsuccessful in convincing most adult African men to undergo circumcision, the UCLA study proposes to determine whether researchers can develop an after-sex genitalia-washing regimen that they can then convince uncircumcised African men to follow.

I haven't voted yet, but I attended a school open house last night, and they were expecting a heavy turnout today, which they apparantly did not plan for. Schools here close for the general election, but not for primaries. That should lead to further muddying of the waters.
My wife is very much apolitical, is a registered Dem (from when she first registered) and deosn't like to discuss politics, especially within the family. Marrying a Pol Sci/History major challenges all of these. While preparing dinner, she asked about the primary, and noted the Castle radio ads. She formed the opinion that this was a case of "the old boys trying to keep out new people".
I know that this isn't really the case, but it is important to note once again that the Castle campaign here was more anti-O'Donnell than it was pro-Castle, and it seems to have backfired. After reading the Castle interview in the Weekly Standard yesterday, I keep finding myself asking if he really wants to win this damn primary? Or, is he looking upon this as an imposition tat he and the party elite have to tolerate?

Headline:
Florence taxpayers will see 1.8 millage increase
A tax increase in middle of a recession. Also, keep in mind this is for the city alone, not counting county property taxes.
But lo and behold, this 1.8 mils is a "good" thing per the Dem PR rag.
FLORENCE — Florence taxpayers will not see the 4-mill tax increase city officials had anticipated.
Sounds like the Dems in congress right? We save you money because we aren't going to spend as much as we wanted. And how about this next little gem of brilliance:
“The first piece of good news is property values in Florence County went up, which didn’t happen everywhere,” Florence Mayor Stephen J. Wukela said after the meeting. “The second piece of good news is that we’re able to return that value to the taxpayers.”
So what happened is they planned on a 4 mil increase but since they reassessed the property values and INCREASED them despite home prices falling everywhere, they will only raise you 1.8 mils in addition to the increase in assessed value.
They save you money by raising your taxes. Do they think everyone is stupid?
Judging from one of the comments, yes some of them are.

She's letting it blow over, which is causing me to think this might have been a minor publicity stunt.
Ines Sainz has repeatedly downplayed the extent to which she was bothered by the New York Jets' practice antics. If she's telling the truth, then she really has done nothing but win as a result of the incident.
Sainz spoke out on Monday, saying that she was not offended, felt safe, and that Jets owner Woody Johnson's apology was enough for her.
She also added that she definitely will not be toning down her sexy sideline style. She's been doing it for nine years -- why change just because it is getting her more attention than ever?
Well played, Sainz.

Breyer made the amazingly common idiotic mistake when talking about Holmes and "shouting fire in a crowded theater."
Hey, superlegalgenius, Holmes said you can do it IF THERE IS A FIRE.
And I can't wait to hear his reasoning around Texas v. Johnson. That case includes dicta which preempts his argument.

My favorite political trick was the guy who had printed up 5,000 of his opponents bumper stickers, and then hired 'underemployed freelance types' to paste them. And they were told that they had to be displayed conspicuously in their assigned areas to be paid. This crap went everywhere, and the candidate whose name was on it was hated.

DEFEAT OBAMA POEMS
America's truths he plans to change
To suit his own world view
Our hopes and dreams he'll rearrange
A country like we never knew
Backs imam's trophy at ground zero
While America says no!
For all this he's not our hero
In 12 he's really gotta go
Spent a year on Obamacare
While bribes secured the vote
Few trillion can you spare?
Bankruptcy does this promote
Day one began his quest
2012 in his sughts
While not giving us his best
For this job he's just not right
Arizona does he sue
His oath doesn't seem to matter
He wants votes as his due
While our borders are in tatters
Frequent flier miles he does log
Beats working in the Oval Office
"Bush at fault" - his monologue
Results show he's a novice
Oh, he's sush an idealog
And he treats us like a dog
1st 6 out of 25
See ya later w/my lantern

Mr. Y-not and I have had to hide our political beliefs most of our professional lives. His last boss soured on him when she figured out that he was a conservative. And, basically, that only happened because he didn't volunteer a bunch of moonbat opinions all the time. That's the real kicker with the Left. It's not enough to be quiet - you have to vocally spout the party line.

Day 8 of Republican House budget bills. WH Buget = zero dollars for President's wife, zero dollars for President's wife staff, zero dollars for offices. In other words zero dollars for ANYTHING.
The last time I looked she was not elected, she was not appointed, and most of all she has zero authority over anything at all.

That population new increase @ 35K tendency to exploit the tax base isn't monopolized by Democrats.
In Central Texas Republican counties, the same thing happens. Our city council members (newer arrivals in town who became career local politicians involved in real estate development) boasted during the '08 campaign of our city's bond rating, that our city tax base has a whopping 3-month ability to provide city services to stay in operation given a catastrophe.
Wow, a 3 month limit before no more police, fire dept., water, sewage, garbage. All the while, the city's new "infrastructure" activity center and recreational center must both be paid for, providing informal concert venues charging $200. tickets to attend a country western George Strait "concert", and a new 3-story structure with exercise equipment for citizens who "join" that instead of the local "Y" centers. Both centers on the outskirts of the mayor's neighborhood. They are also building a waterpark that's not located on a river, creek or lake to compete with waterparks that ARE on rivers and lakes. And our counties regularly go on drought alert mandated watering schedules already with increased water fees. Protests at council meetings fall on deaf ears. The council goes against findings of the community committees research. The insanity: Off with their heads.

TheÂ… you get that, rightÂ… ? The. As it turns out there is only one. Who knew?
But I digress.
The Elder of Zion, simplifies Middle East peacein a way even your idiot friends on the left can understand. I mean, if you can pull their focus away from their navel for likeÂ… whatÂ… two minutes? ItÂ’s like three paragraphs.
But anywayÂ…
And IÂ’m wondering, for cripes sake, why the hell do they constantly refer to this as the Middle East peach process anyway? ItÂ’s like 1/100th of the entire Middle East. Why the hell donÂ’t they refer to it logically anyway? Something that makes sense, for crying out loud. Something that actually reflects what is actually going on? Like for example:
Negotiations to give up half or more of the current area of a tiny sliver of land that the Arabs never even wanted until is was set aside, because of an indisputable historic connection and because frankly, no body else wanted it, for the Jews.
Now that is an appropriate title. I think IÂ’ll suggest it.
Watch the vid. Tongue in cheek funny, imo.
