4 Gabriel,

"curious" was mentioning last night that ace ignores her tip emails, i.e. probably has so many he never sees them.  Anyways, it seems like she usually has some pretty good stuff, and some of it is sort of more in your bailiwick then in ace's, e.g. the California Senate race.  I don't know enough about how tips move through the pipeline around here to suggest a specific course of action, but if you could find a way to reach out to her, I think it would be a good thing.

West Florence residents dealing with growth, overcrowding issues

FLORENCE - One area of Florence is growing at such a fast pace, that new businesses are arriving almost monthly and the area has so many new residents that school district officials are now drawing up plans for a new elementary school to help with the overpopulation.

And what caused this fast growth????

The area has also seen a large amount of growth in neighboring subdivisions, part of the impetus for the development of expanded roadways funded by Florence County's penny sales tax program.

Why it grew because of a tax increase.

So what does that call for? More Cowbell Taxes of course!

I don't blame them. I don't care for O'Donnell at all, I would have prefered a better conservative, but she won and we need to close ranks.

He is doubling and tripling down on stupid and it make no sense. He must have a close relationship with Castle or really hate O'Donnell. It is beyond me how someone as politically savvy as him can be so dumb.

Who exactly is he trying to reach with his continued put downs of our party's candidate in Delaware?  Why not show the same amount of passion for finding dirt of Coons?

I think there is a chance in a true wave election that O'd will do fine.  I also think the GOP will be better served in the long run having a good 45-48 seats in the Senate to be able to keep a true filibuster going than have a 51 seat by the skin of your teeth "hell yeah we'll pass crap'n'tax, amnesty, and card check" reach around across the aisle "majority".

Linda McMahon also has Blumenthal's military service woes.

At the very least O'Donnell seems to be able to raise money pretty well.  500K in one day is a pretty good haul.

what you need to do is take a blank of the key style of the lock and cover it in match smoke and insert it into the lock....

the smudging will show you where to gently asp file away the ridgeline to open the lock.....it takes practice and some luck but will work.  The alternative is to use a diamond sow blade on the bolt and sacrifice the lock.

Hatch, Bennett to vote no on immigrant ‘Dream Act’

Three years ago, Sens. Orrin Hatch and Bob Bennett voted to add the Dream Act to the defense authorization bill, which would have allowed the children of some immigrants here illegally to become conditional citizens if they went to college or joined the military.

That effort failed, but Democrats, led by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, plan to try the very same thing Tuesday. This time Hatch and Bennett plan to stick with their Republican colleagues and vote no.

Too late for Bennet but at least he's honest.

81 John Batchelor had a great interview with Carly Fiorina last night.  In the first hour he spoke to her and it should be up after 5 today on his podcast page.
He also makes some great comments about the interview and the process in general at the end of the show (the fourth hour).

During the interview with Carly he discovers that babs has release an ad attacking Carly as a greedy capitalist.  Carly's I'm not surprised reaction was priceless.  I sometime really think people think others are just plain stupid.

There has been a lot of talk about whether or not Carly was a successful HP CEO.  I never engaged in the talk cause I follow HP and tech and it is more than obvious that she was a great CEO for HP.   The recent events at HP prove that Carly was doing a job that others may not have been able to master.  I'm not a californian so I have no idea how an "evil capitalist" ad will be received.  Gabe? Gabe?

What I do know is that you could tell that Carly Fiorina loves California and Californians and it was impressive how well she "knows her stuff".

86 Castle took phone calls from Obama and Biden last night-which is not something I find shocking or even upsetting.  If a moderate Dem had just gotten knocked off by a Progressive, I would expect a GOP President to call and offer condolences, *wink wink*.  And Biden, he's the guy who held the seat before, both are longtime Delaware politicians-nothing really out-of-bounds on that one either.

Posted by: A Balrog of Morgoth

Obama, the guy who couldn't contact Poland properly after their president died, and screwed up the first two contacts between his Administration and the second largest country on the planet (India),and who made a point of fouling up talks with the Republican leadership in both the House AND Senate is contacting a loser in a primary from another party?

And this is nothing out of the ordinary?  I certainly hope that you're right. if it is anything more, then what has gone on here before will seem as but a dream. And a nightmare will begin.

I grasp that...I also grasp that the entire narrative of the struggle against Ogabe changes when we have Juan Queeg Ensign Grahamnesty and a Mike castle being perceived as the driving force behind programs that poll in the 25-35% range in popularity.  Better at that point to be seen fighting these hated programs than owning their passage.  I've indirectly empowered Mccain to set the power narrative once before never again.

113 There shouldn't be a moratorium on Delaware convo but it should be restricted at this point to how O'Donnell can win.

Coons favorables are two high right now and she has to get after him.  Additionally, that 76% of repubs she has right now will hopefully go up.  Rasmussen lays out a map for her to follow to hit Coons on:

While a majority of Delaware voters, for example, favor repeal of the national health care bill and passage of an immigration law like ArizonaÂ’s in their own state, that support is lower than is found nationally.

Still, 62% say cutting taxes is a better way to create jobs than increasing government spending. Only 18% say increased spending is a better job-creator.

It won't be as simple as just ripping on Obama though:

Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters in the state approve of the job President Obama is doing, while 43% disapprove. This is higher job approval than the president earns nationally

122 I'm enjoying all the fuss about Rove. It's particularly amusing over at Tepid Air, where the comment-posters are acting like teenagers who have been jilted by their First Crush. Two days ago, Uncle Karl was the "Magnificent Bastard," the fount of wisdom and a Guiding Light.

Now he's this paragon of eeeeeevil who would be doing the world a favor if he simply wandered out onto an iceberg somewhere and became a polar bear snack.

What was his terrible crime? He presented an analysis, based on his knowledge, perception and prejudices. An Establishment Republican acts like one, and the fanboyz go all Rage Boy on him.

What they don't do is listen. Their love for political pinups is based only on feelings, not logic. They clasp some would-be Hero to their collective bosom, defend him/her with religious zeal, invent pet names for them.

This is why I mistrust all the adoration of Sarah Palin. From Does No Wrong  to Miserable Cur is only a short step. She is less a real politician than a living meme. The people who praise her incessantly couldn't tell you what she believes in (except as it has been passed along to them by meme-spreaders like Limbaugh).

Look at the kind of presidents the fanboyz have elected in their orgies of adulation: Kennedy, Clinton, Osama Obama.

Rove said something you don't like? Get over it. He's neither a Magnificent Bastard nor Miserable Cur. He speaks wisdom at times, idiocy at others. Just like a real human being.

Or would you rather follow a pandering cretin like Dick Morris? He's crafty enough to base all his "wisdom" on what people want to hear. That's why Hannity drools over the creases in his pants legs.

The "52" would be 40 of your purists plus 12 RINOs, right?  With that ratio, the RINOs would have to put real conservatives on commitees.  Plus, in the Senate I learned that they have term limits on their committee chairmanships, therefore if there is a RINO chairing a committee, there's a realistic prospect of him/her coming off for a conservative.

There's a good write-up in the Green Room at HotAir by Cassy Fiano.  She spells the lessons out for those not listening.  We're cleaning house...the entire house...and if the R's in power don't start realizing who is really in power, we'll keep switching them out until we get some that do.

As I said yesterday, if our side already understood this, the revolution would have never been necessary.  See Graham, Lindsey (D-bag, SC) as exhibit A.

160 a "GOP majority" that is functionally indistinguishable from a donk one thanks to Juan Mccain and friends hurts the GOP nationally period.
I'd add considering that in 2008 something like 30% of the electorate 'thought' (maybe 'believed' would be more appropriate?) that the GOP still controlled both Houses due to the MFM's reporting style, what do you think the MFM would be doing to blame the GOP if they really did control both Houses, including the Senate by 1 or 2 seats?

Still, this sort of speculation will lead nowhere. We'll see in November whether both Houses are taken or just the Reps; and 'what ifs' won't change any of that one way or the other or help formulate plans to deal with either outcome.

241 I started to look at voter turnout in Alaska after reading a "Tea Party" story that stated it was "dismally low, at about 20 percent."  Oddly, ABC showed it at "a measly 45.1 percent."  Over at the Huffington Post, they had it at "a turnout of 54.9%."

Very odd.

Sooooo, Michelle Obama supposedly said  ‘DonÂ’t ask! ItÂ’s hell. I canÂ’t stand it!Â’ when asked about her time as First Lady so far. If the comment is in context and accurately reveals her attitude (more than likely, it does), we should remind Mrs. Obama that she doesn't have to do anything in any official capacity and pressure herself as if she has a job. The position of the First Lady is not an elected one, carries no official duties, and receives no salary. Therefore, she is free to not continue the modern voluntary traditions of First Lady. If I were to ever become the First Gentleman of the United States, it'd be impossible for me to complain about it. If I started fucking things up, I'd simply remind the press that my WIFE was elected, not me. Then I'd thoroughly enjoy chasing every single "reporter" around the White House lawn from behind the wheel of my beautiful new Z Master G3 Commercial Zero-Turn Commercial Toro lawn mower.

Of course, in order to relax and decompress from all the stress and utter hell of doing that twice a week because of my utter failure as First Gentleman, I'd have to head for the Mediterranean coast line with my best buds. Hey, there's a cause I could take up! Legalizing pot (buds made me segue into that, sorry)!

Regarding the locked cabinet. First, you should apoloigize to it. Second, you need to understand why it is locked....we have not been understanding of the problems it has had. Third, engage in a dialogue with  the locked cabinet. Promise the cabinet that if it unlocks itself, you will extend an open hand to it.

yeah you'd need to go to a locksmith and get a blank...you can get a general idea based on the size of the keyhole.  In all honesty the easiest way to go unless you are keen on using the lock is to go ahead and dremel the bolt.

A locksmith would charge you maybe 30 bucks if you took the object to him probably though.
