I don't know if this is totally true or not:
But the fact that I can't get the facts from McConnell means that he doesn't get it yet, imo.
Enough of the word games already. Just tell the truth. No varnish required, even for us morons.

They show a line literally around the block which they say looks like people lining up "for halo or something"
I watch CNBC, they said nothing about this until this morning.
They claim it is a mix of people and from law schools in the area.
they claim they will be ready with questions.
I wonder how they chose the people for this event?
Amazing how the media could keep this so secret until today.
So, those who are saying the "going to church" was the start of the new presidential campaign might be right.

Utah National Guard held live fire exercises on a red flag day. Fire started at midday, they "thought" they had it out, but after 2-3 hours realized they didn't and then called for outside firefighter help as winds picked up and evening approached.
Kind of scary to think our National Guard guys don't know how to put out a friggin' fire.

As someone who has fought wildfire, I can tell you that it is far from cut and dried. They will get out of control in a heartbeat and what was a matter of a bucket of water in 5 minutes is 2 acres in flames, then 5 minutes later, 20 acres. Before you know it, you are fucked, then you realize that indeed, you are truly fucked.

the only article on the who CNBC site is written by John Carney. Have followed Carney when he was at "dealbreaker" and when he jumped to "clusterstock" and now the jump to CNBC.
A "blogger" is the only one mentioning this on the CNBC website. Yet they are all over it on air.
wonder, since the story was filed this morning, if only a few people knew about this thing.

I watched a clip on Fox and Friends this morning in which Ms. Murkowski called Joe Miller an extremist because he wants to get rid of among others the Department of Education. Either (a) she doesn't understand enumerated powers, or (b) the transformation to full blown democrat is nearly completed. After all women and children will be adversly affected most if Joe Miller is elected to fill the seat in the Senate that is her birthright.
More pork for everyone!

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama and his family attended an hourlong service Sunday morning at a church just across the street from the White House.
Accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, Obama strolled across Lafayette Square to attend St. John's Church.
I'm sure it was just a concidence that this close to the election that Barry finally showed up at a church

I'm sure it's challenging which begs the question of why they were conducting live fire exercises on a red flag day and why there was a 3 hour delay in calling for reinforcements.

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama political advisers, looking for ways to help Democrats and alter the course of the midterm elections in the final weeks, are considering a range of ideas, including national advertisements, to cast the Republican Party as all but taken over by Tea Party extremists, people involved in the discussion said.
Of course in Barry's and the NY Times' view the Tea Party people are nothing but extremists. Unlike the middle of the road folk of who occupy the looney left.

I don't know if this is totally true or not:
No, it is pure BS. The tax increase on the "rich" that Obama wants would in fact hit most small businesses. That has been stated over and over again by economists all over the country, not just Republicans.

I'm sure it's challenging which begs the question of why they were conducting live fire exercises on a red flag day and why there was a 3 hour delay in calling for reinforcements.
Guard units are often operating on very tight schedules when it comes to training. Cancelling a live fire exercise can throw everything else off in the schedule and create a lot of headaches down the line.
As for waiting for reinforcements, they may have thought that the fire was under control, and then the situation changed suddenly.

That is the new meme form the libtards in trashing the Tea Party. Mort Turdracky used in on Fox the other day. He said that was his litmus test for "fringe", if you wanted to kill the Dept of Ed then you were fringe.
Of course that has always been the Democrat's position. If you believe in the Constitution as written then you are fringe.

39 Perhaps Slublog should note that the "Obama" quote was actually lifted from a Jimi Hendrix (D)eceased song.
How can you say that? It's a common phrase and predated Hendrix by 500 years I imagine.

Well, I think their schedule is blown to hell now.
Seriously, this is ridiculous. Red flag warning. Live fire machine gun exercise. So why wasn't there a firefighting unit standing by during the exercise, if it was so essential to conduct it yesterday? And if a unit was standing by, why did it take 3 hours to determine that the fire was beyond their abilities to control?
Plus, yesterday was Sunday. I bet it was harder than normal to reach the 1500 families who had to be evacuated.

Well that's what you get when you're a Labrador Deceiver. And I have to ask, did Barry (on that stroll across Lafayette Square to the church) stop to pee on the fire hydrant like he's beem peeing on the American people.

I double checked Camp Williams' website, and it seems that units are expected to conduct any firefighting duties with the assistance of Range Control. We'll have to wait for the eventual investigation to find out if they had checked out the necessary firefighting equipment.

CA has some weird laws on the books thanks to the eco-tards that in a lot of cases prevent homeowners from clearing land around their house.
Most likely their idea is to discourage people from building in new areas whenever they were unable to get local counties to adopt the "green zones" restricvtion policies that drive property values through the roof.

BJ Lawson is running against David fkn Price in NC-4. In 2008 he put up a great challenge but lost to the overwhelming tide of idiotic Obama voters voting the straight party ticket ballot.
This year will be different. Please contribute and pass the word around.

Mr. FinemanÂ’s move from print media to the world of online news is a sign that The Huffington Post, which has so far relied heavily on younger bloggers, is maturing. And it signals that the site, which has become one of the largest news destinations on the web since it launched in 2005, is investing significantly in its growth....
Mr. Fineman, who will begin his new job this week, will become senior politics editor, overseeing and steering The Huffington PostÂ’s political coverage from its Washington bureau. He will remain a paid analyst for MSNBC, but will have to discontinue his column for MSNBC.com.

Ironically, in style and substance, Obama's flight of rhetoric echoed, of all people, Malcolm X -- or at least the one portrayed in Spike Lee's biopic, who says in a memorable speech from the film, "You've been hoodwinked. You've been had. You've been took. You've been led astray, led amok. You've been bamboozled."
No biggie, I just recalled some discussion of this during the 2008 campaign.

Surely you jest. If google maps is anything to go by, Camp Williams is clear over on the other side of the mountains from Dugway.
I've not been to Camp Williams, but I used to live at Dugway, in the early '70s. Yeah, it was sparse right in the immediate vicinity, but there were houses in the mountains to the east of Dugway and Skull Valley Indian Reservation between Dugway and I-80.

Regarding the "Jump the Shark" article...
Evidently the guy doesn't really understand what "jumping the shark" means because he talks about the ratings for "Happy Days" continuing to be strong for several seasons after the "jump the shark" episode.
"Jumping the shark" means a loss of quality and ideas, not a loss of ratings. People still watched the show after that episode, but clearly the TV show became less a show about growing up in the 50s and more about SuperFonzie.
It's unfortunate that the writer of the episode feels the need to whine a little publicly and claim the term is unjustified. He just doesn't get it and it's a little sad.

Reader darus67 points us to the the website of one Dr. Ann De Wees Allen, who makes it quite clear she has a trademark on her name, and anyone using it without permission will be in trouble:"Dr. Ann de Wees Allen's name is a Federally Registered Trademark. It is illegal to use the name (Dr. Ann de Wees Allen) on any website or document without prior written permission."
She even goes so far as to post a list of websites "illegally" using her name, as well as a copy of the cease and desist letter (pdf) her lawyers will send you. Now, it may very well be that some of the sites in question are, in fact, violating her trademark (and at least one of the pages I've found does appear pretty questionable from a trademark standpoint) but the blanket claim that "it is illegal to use the name on any website without prior written permission" is simply false. That's not how trademark law works. Dr Ann De Wees Allen does, in fact, have a trademark on her name, used in commerce related to dietary supplements, but just because you have a trademark, it does not mean you have complete control of the mark.
