Not that I wouldn't be thrilled to see the backsides of Barry and his buddies leaving DC, but Beck had some sobering news on yesterday.  You know how he's always saying it's not Repubs or Dems?  I just ignored it, 'cause I knew damn well it was the dems.  He gave the example of Elizabeth Warren and the Consumer Protection Agency.  The agency was approved by congress during W's admin, and can never be defunded because it's operating $$ comes from the Fed.  We need to oust all the anti-American malcontents if we're going to get back to any semblance of normal and elect a conservative president.  The next prez would have to fire everyone and start from the get-go.

An analysis by the Maricopa County Office of Management and Budget, completed in September, 2010, found Arpaio has misspent at least $50 million in taxpayer dollars over the previous 4 years.

The analysis showed that money from a restricted detention fund which could only legally be used to pay for jail items, such as food, detention officers' salaries and equipment, was used to pay employees to patrol Maricopa County. The analysis also showed that many Sheriff's Office employees, whose salaries were paid from the restricted detention fund, were working job assignments different than those recorded in their personnel records. Arpaio used the detention fund to pay for investigations of political rivals, and activities involving his human-smuggling unit.

The analysis also showed a number of inappropriate spending items, including a trip to Alaska where deputies stayed at a fishing resort, and trips to Disneyland.

Separate investigations by The Arizona Republic uncovered widespread abuse of public funds and county policies by Arpaio's office, including high-ranking employees routinely charging expensive meals and stays at luxury hotels on their county credit cards. The Repulic also found that a restricted jail enhancement fund was improperly used to pay for out-of-state training, a staff party at a local amusement park, and a $456,000 bus, which was purchased by Arpaio in violation of county procurement rules.

There are 3 types of irony. Verbal irony, dramatic irony, and cosmic irony. Cosmic irony suggests that some unknown force brings about dire and dreadful events. This is a common theme in literature, e.g. Greek dramas and Shakespearean tragedies.

I said that I found the accident  ironic because it is obviously an example of cosmic irony.

Polynikes, I did not use it incorrectly, I just assumed that there was a better understanding of irony.  However, if you still disagree, I can write the professors who approved my master's english thesis and oral boards and let them know that I don't know the definition of irony.

That's why I refuse to use bike lanes, I don't trust drivers at all.

Deb, didn't know you were in the Old Dominion.  Did you know Agenda 21 is on the march in the majority of counties/cities in the commonwealth because the VA legislature said that all localities had to come with sustainable devt. plans?  This leads said localities to hire outside urban planners who are in league with the dreaded UN's Agenda 21, which exists to ultimately outlaw private property.  Some of the Tea Party/Patriot groups are having presentations on it.

Yes, I am in Northen Virgnia about 20 miles south of DC. No, I didn't know that about Agenda 21. I'm going to check it out now though. Honestly, my mind and money have been focused on the national scene so much lately. No excuse though. I'll check into it. I'm a Tea Party membr but I can't say I remember hearing anyhing about this. Fair points. But the Dem primary picture may be different in 2012. That includes the possibility that it may go even farther left. if so, then Bayh wouldn't even make a sound. or a dark horse enters late after much of the blood has been spilled.
