I got nothing after the Boehner story....

Well one little thing...

Ichiro made history last night by getting 200 hits in 10 straight seasons.  Pretty impressive.  He seems like a good guy, and I personally like him, but why can't he learn to speak english?

He's been here 10 years and still speaks through an interpreter.

15 Taxpayers to Buffett - Shut up, you doddering old fool!  Take your billions, buy an island somewhere, and shut the fuck up.  And quit donating to Democrats while you're at it - you how how bad they are for business.

Buffett to taxpayers: Get over your anger

Taxpayer anger against President Barack Obama and Congress is counterproductive because policy makers took measures including deficit spending to stimulate the economy (which didn't farking work! -ed) , billionaire investor Warren Buffett told CNBC.

“Sentiment has turned very sour in the last three or four or five months,”  (well, duh, I wonder why?! -ed) the chairman and CEO of Omaha-based Berkshire Hathaway Inc. said in an interview broadcast Thursday.

"An Angle and Reid supporter exchanged angry remarks which drew in others and led to a punch being thrown." Union thugs again?

Well, I guess people are really starting to get interested in the democratic process again.  I sometimes wish our congress was as hard core as those of some other nations, where fights break out over contentious issues.  No room for squishes in a fight like that!  Of course, once punching gets to be common, how much longer is it before more radical measures are taken?

It will be interesting to see what happens in the face of all the illegality that the Dems will be engaged in this year.  Will there be fights at the polls?  What will happen when news of the (no doubt) epic level of Democrat voter fraud leaks?  The last cycle was, I suspect, just a warm up for this year's ballot box stuffing.  They know they've got to pull out all the stops this year or be thrown out of power.

26 These politicians remind me a lot of actors.  Actors have a minimal personality which can be filled by the role they are playing.  You don't get to know most actors, cuz there is nothing there.  This is one of the reasons hollywierd is so f'd up.  They are all playing the green/progressive role at the moment.  During WWII they all played the patriotic/brave role and were very effective.

Politicians have no strong opinions about anything except getting elected.  Their opinions are whatever their base fills them with at the moment.  You never know what you are getting during run-ups to elections because their opinions are those of 51% of the electorate - whether or not they believe or agree with them.  Once in office, their opinions are those of 51% of the political class.

Goddamn stink bugs everywhere.

What the hell is the story with those things? I read somewhere they came from China and that the epicenter of the infestation is somewhere around Allentown, Pa. Don't they have any predators? I walked outside yesterday and there were about 100 of them all around the deck, on every window, all over the siding, hanging from the eaves.

I think we need a stink bug czar.

yeah they are from china. i don't know about predators, but i do know that you shouldn't swat them or crush them inside your home because they..welll..stink.

What I have been doing is gingerly wrapping them in a piece of tissue paper, then taking them outside and crushing them and putting them in the garbage can.

Also apparently soapy water being sprayed on them works too.

They are coming in down my chimney.

Bill Ayers asked to be made a professor emeritus at University of Illinois. RFK, Jr. is on the board of trustees. RFK, Jr. leads the charge to deny Ayers emeritus status on the grounds that Ayers had dedicated a book to, among others, Sirhan Sirhan, the guy who killed RKF.  Ayers did not get emeritus status.

Amen.  Buffett made his initial fortune by buying up good small businesses that had to be liquidated by the heirs in order to pay the inheritance tax.  He got rich off the death tax, and grew his fortune from there.  Then has the gall to come out and tell us all that it's for the greater good that the "rich" (meaning people with money, but WAY less than him) have to surrender their life's work to the Fed.  Piss on him.  And frankly, I distrust any man who would short change his own heirs.  There is, in my opinion, a moral responsibility to try to leave the fruit of your labor (the excess of what you need for your own well being/happiness) for the next generation of your own family (assuming they're not pricks).

There is another way of looking at that.

I believe Ayn Rand said something along the lines of:

If you are concerned that leaving a fortune to a child would create a parasite, would you rather it be taken by government and given out to create thousands of parasites.

39 In another time, I might actually care if it could be proven that Boehner's boner got him in trouble. I didn't like it when Newt got caught with his pants down (the mental images was awful enough there).

But when the alternatives are having some clown in authority who can't keep it zipped up or continue with treasonous, America-hating felons trying to destroy us, it just don't mean a thing.

I don't even trust the weather forecast in the NY Slimes. Whatever shred of integrity that rag may once have had is long-gone. Supposition, rumor and unnamed sources, all twisted to favor a political agenda, do not equate to news reporting.

Have no fear comrades, AP has a poll that shows that Republicans are even more unpopular than Democrats. I'm sure no one at AP knows anyone who votes Republican

WASHINGTON – If anyone is scorned as much as Democrats these days, it's Republicans — the party that may recapture the House and perhaps the Senate in November's elections.

In an Associated Press-GfK Poll this month, 60 percent disapprove of the job congressional Democrats are doing — yet 68 percent frown on how Republicans are performing. While 59 percent are unhappy with how Democrats are handling the economy, 64 percent are upset by the GOP's work on the country's top issue. Just over half have unfavorable views of each party.

Most say President Barack Obama isn't cooperating enough on the economy; yet even more accuse Republicans of the same thing.

Sept. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Democrats delayed a congressional vote on extending Bush-era tax cuts until after the Nov. 2 elections, setting up a showdown with Republicans as the reductions near expiration at yearÂ’s end.

“I suspect the Democratic leadership thinks that wavering members will feel freer” after the election to support legislation that allowed the tax cuts to lapse for higher income brackets, said Henry Aaron, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington who studies congressional tax, health, and economic policy. “The risk in that strategy is that the Democrats will emerge from the election shell-shocked and running for the hills.”

I forgot that "human factors" to the Chinese means a male above the age of 30 who sells 14 year old girls as slaves to people like Mao.

Taking a break for some Pepsi now.

75 And yeah, we have swarms of stink bugs here as well. If they did come from China it was long ago because we have had them as long as I can remember.

76 Vic, I recently bought a cheapo charcoal grill at my local Home Depot. The only problem was that it came pre-assembled, so it took some effort to get it home. It was amazingly inexpensive (and cheaply built) -- $35.

77 The NY Times has a pattern of publishing innuendos of affairs with Republicans close to victory- Bush 41 and Mccain both received this treatment. I am surprised that they are going after a Representative- how many of the voters in his Ohio district are paying attention to that rag?

78 The delay in the Bush tax cuts is being done so they can attach them to other poison pill legislation they think a few of the RINOs will come across to support.

What the stupids haven't taken into account is that the Republican House will take over in a short period of time and they will sit them out (if they have any sense).

This is a gas grill so it was a little more expensive; $85.00. I used to buy the expensive ones for around $300 - $500. I found that they rusted out just as fast as the cheap ones. I even bought an very expensive one touted as "stainless steel". The burners rusted out so they obviously lied.

LOL, and the last thing I bought from the local Home Depot and had them assemble. It took a week for them to "get around to it" and when I got it they had put it together wrong. So the money I paid them to assemble it was wasted. I had to take it apart and put it back together correctly.

So I don't go that route anymore.

The man responsible for the abomination known as HLN (Joy Behar/Nancy Grace) will be taking over CNN.

Another channel I will be deleting - God knows why I haven't done it already.

Yes, I'm familiar with that problem. I have one of those expensive built-in gas grills that originally had cast iron burners. I had to remove the burners to prep them for every season. They finally got so bad I replaced them. The manufacturer's replacement burners are now stainless. So far -- two seasons now -- they're holding up pretty well.

The charcoal grill was for an annual fly fishing/cooking outing, so its overall cheapness wasn't a real issue.

What pisses me off is that every cable/satellite company in the country carries it as part of the "basic" package. If you want Fox if you have to go to "mid" tier. If you want FBC you have to go to the top tier.

If people could pick their channels "cafeteria style" CNN would go out of business.

Vic, they probably got the "assemblers" from the guys standing around out front. You know, the ESL crowd.

The fact that Ted Turner started CNN wasn't reason enough?

After I got my first propane grill I gave my old charcoal one away and I have never looked back. The charcoal one actually made marginally better steaks but it was a whole lot easier to use the propane.

Anyway, time to get back at it. Back later.

87 Coates is nervous, but is building up a strong case for himself. Well, really, against the management of the DoJ. I haven't checked the Colbert performance, but this is good TV. I wonder who Holder will have take the fall?

92 What the hell is this about Stephen Colbert testifying in front of Congress in character? Methinks this will piss off people even more... adding fuel to the fire. Thanks Nancy! I can tell you this. It has nothing to do with the fact that the DOJ Attorney testifying about the Black Panther case is also taking place this morning. which do you think will get tv coverage? Posted by: Ben I guess I don't give them Libtards enough credit for thinking of ways to deflect attention from their, ahem, less stellar achievements. But that makes perfect sense-using Colbert, with his VAST knowledge of agriculture and immigration policy, to keep cameras away from the Black Panther hearing. I'd almost golf clap for them, except I hate them so much.

95 It's worth going over to the Washington Examiner site to read how Colbert's appearance went.  Conyers asked him to leave, without checking with the committee chairwoman, and after some stalling, Conyers withdrew that request.  The excerpts from Colbert's testimony were painful to read.

Clowns.

Oh, Coates is still testifying. What I jast saw is totally indicitive of our government. The question was, "What questions aren't you allowed to ask of career employees?"

Excuse Me? Career???

I guess that's just the difference between my working history and the government. I don't go into a job assuming its going to be my whole life.

Guess I'm wrong about government jobs.

And why is that?
