2 Morning homies!

I was looking around the Utah political scene and found a Blue Dog in Utah's 2nd district who has an R opponent.  The Dem (Matheson) seems to be a environut, but unfortunately the Rep (Philpot) isn't that impressive.  He looks like a career politician (sporadic work history outside of gubmint).

It'd still be nice to get the Dem out, though.

5 WI-07 Duffy(R): 52% Lassa(D): 38% For our resident ewok. My map of the midwest? Becoming a reality. Latest polling puts us up markedly in WI 7 , WI 8, MI 1, IN 8, and barely in IL 17 (which was likely Dem just five weeks ago) Perhaps even more damning is IL-9, a longshot race where Jan in the Pan is spending an awful lot of time and resources trying to undercut and attack Joel Pollak. Methinks its a sleeper since no one expects a D+20 race to flip. But fuck, if MD1 could flip in 2008...

I still can't figure out why my district isn't competative. We've got a 3rd term Dem, we are an R +6, we vote for R in Senate, Gov, and President, and state house and senate.

He was one of the few Dems who voted against obamacare and other unpopular bills, but he was one of the people who helped write hillarycare back in the 1990s, so those of us who follow politics knows where his try beliefs lie

And the Republican is this conservative who beat our a very well known establishment republican in the primaries.

I really am hoping for a suprise come election night.

On the news this morning they said that Mormons did the best (of the religious folks), which would make sense based on the number of missions overseas they do.  I confess, I was surprised Evangelicals did "well" (relatively speaking), perhaps because lots of the ones I've encountered spread a lot of disinformation about dirty papists (like self) and Mormons.  My bias.  *hangs head in shame*

he does. Politico has a election tracker that shows the contents peoples campaign chests. Its something like 1.3 million to 300k.

However, this district is conservative, so it should be closer. I don't see my district in any of the potential republican gains. And the republicans aren't giving any money to the Republican candidate, Keith Rothfus.

It's odd. I would think the Republicans would target this district for a pick up. i know they are targeting PA-3 which is just north of here.

36 RE- PA-4 is LEAN Dem hold. Well at least according to me. The Dem has a big cash advantage, and the GOP guy does have some baggage. What keeps it close is internal polling releases say it is. There are 8 seats at least somewhat in play in PA. New York now leads the pack clearly with 10 seats that have come at least partially online for us to shoot for- some like NY-22 and NY-4 , the newest ones, are longshots, but demographically not really.

President Barack ObamaÂ’s lecture to his supporters to snap out of their lethargy is getting a frosty reception from some on the left side of the Democratic coalition.

Here's a weird story:

Onorato's pronunciation helps cut Corbett lead; Toomey still in front

Critics who scoffed at Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato's decision to use television commercials to tell voters how to pronounce his name might want to hold their tongues.

While a poll released by Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster on Tuesday still shows Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett leading, it indicates Onorato has made up some ground over the past week.

In the race for U.S. Senate, however, GOP candidate Pat Toomey has a solid lead over Democratic candidate Joe Sestak, according to the poll.

[ . . . ]

"What's going on is that Dan Onorato has raised his name recognition by 10 percentage points, which is significant," Madonna said. "Dan has been greatly helped by those commercials, and the Democrats are starting to get their voters motivated."

79 HotAir is linking to a TMZ article hit piece on Meg Whitman.  Supposedly Gloria Allred has some bombshell to drop vis a vis Meg's (Latina) maid.  It doesn't sound like it's an illegal alien issue -- something to do with working conditions.

Cry me a river, Chiquita or whatever the hell your name is.  You don't like your employer?  Find another job.

I hope with the unemployment rate as bad as it is in CA, the voters turn a deaf ear to this maid.

80 I think a scandal might help Whitman.  She's such a doughy non-entity.  A little splash of Leona Helmsley might make things interesting.

81 Show of hands, how many of you morons needed a "lottery simulator" to comprehend the simple statistics?  Yeah I know, math is hard.

82 76-sorry-had to step out and take my lab to get stitches out. She knows more about western civilization than most Americans, I think. I used Burns, Lerner, Meachem Western Civilizations, 10th edition. (1984) published by Norton. Granted it is dated, and naturally, liberal, but I think there are few textbooks these days that can make it through editing without being primarily liberal, unless they are self published, or through Regnary, which doesn't do textbooks, to my knowledge. For my daughter, we combined this text with a church history study, and she AND I learned soo much! By doing both, you could see the parallels between events in the faith and how they affected or were affected by the political situation of the times. Very interesting!

Not one comment on the Rutgers sext tape suicide?  I don't get it.  If my roomates had taped me having sex on multiple occassions in my room, I'd have posted it myself on the interweb.  Yet this dude is so ashamed he leaps of the George Washington.  Something isn't adding up.  I am guessing the guy brought home something he wasn't proud of.

Remember, it doesn't matter when it's Arcturian, baby! [rdbrewer] "

Now if we can just bundle up all of our insurance salesmen, interior decorators, telephone sanitizers, and Democrats up and send them there.....before we're attacked by a giant space goat.....
