I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks,
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their secret deals.
I do not like this speaker Nan ,
I do not like this 'YES, WE CAN'.
I do not like this spending spree—-
I'm smart, I know that nothing's free.
I do not like your smug replies,
when I complain about your lies.
I do not like this kind of hope.
I do not like it. nope, nope, nope!
Go green - recycle Congress in 2010!

Heh. Voters are spoiled brats!
I will never forget when Peter Jennings declared that America had a temper tantrum after the republicans won in 1994. I think that is one of the first times in my life i realized the media wasn't honest. (i was only 10 at the time)
Good old Peter Jennings, he's in a better place now, hell.

Busted:
Michigan Tea Party has links to some Democrats
Probe finds organizers, candidates have close ties; official involvement denied
[ . . . ]
Michigan tea party activists, who joined in opposition to Democratic initiatives, call it the Fake Tea Party -- aimed at confusing voters and draining conservative support from Republicans in close races.
The Free Press found:
• Mike McGuinness, the recently resigned chairman of the Oakland County Democratic Party, who had denied any role in the Tea Party controversy, recruited his former stepmother to run for state representative.
• Jason Bauer, 30, of Waterford, former operations director for the Oakland Democrats and McGuinness' roommate, notarized petitions for at least four affidavits to run for office for people who now -- directly or through a relative -- say they didn't sign the affidavits. Overall, he notarized 12 of 23 Tea Party candidate affidavits.
• State Senate candidate Frantt Whitehill of Midland, who insists he's a real tea partyer, is a Democratic donor who ran for precinct delegate as a Democrat in August.
• Three Tea Party candidates recently gave money to Democrats.
Bauer and McGuinness did not answer their door this week or respond to phone calls.
State Democratic Party Chairman Mark Brewer repeated Thursday that the state party was not involved. "You really have to talk to Jason Bauer and Mike McGuinness," he said. "Both of them have resigned and the Oakland County party is moving on."

Which also means I get no surprises from this crew, having already seen how they think and act. Trust me when I say the toolset is exactly as limited as it looks. (It also means the level of competence is as bad as it seems--good enough to make a mess of things, but never good enough to keep out of their own way...)

maddog, this is why Glenn Beck's rally was A Good Thing:
Socialist revolution will never happen in a nation if its culture continually reaffirms and enshrines middle-class capitalist values. Thus, in order to pave the way for the arrival of a communist state, radicals must first insinuate themselves into and/or influence the media and educational system, and from these positions of influence change public attitudes about the status quo. To achieve political hegemony, you must first achieve cultural hegemony.

Even secular scholars have long recognized that America's Judeo-Christian heritage supplied a set of ideals and principles -- such as the Protestant work-ethic and strong commitments to honesty, integrity, and compassion -- that encouraged and reinforced the habits and qualities that tend to help democracies and free markets flourish.

@34 Damn vertigo is making me sick to my stomach...
If you're in an air conditioned space that isn't ventilated regularly, you might have an ozone buildup...ozone causes your middle ear to swell, which gives you the vertigo....it does for me, anyway.

Ha!
In the comments of Zombie's article, Martin Seligman gets quoted:
BaumeisterÂ’s work suggests that if you teach unwarrantedly high self-esteem to children, problems will ensue. A sub-group of these children will also have a mean streak in them. When these children confront the real world, and it tells them they are not as great as they have been taught, they will lash out with violence.
Of whom does that remind you?

College football season is starting out well, Utes beat #15 Pitt in overtime last night. I think I'm more interested in college football than the NFL this year. NFL doesn't seem to be as big a deal out here, I guess because of it being played on Sundays and there being no real natural team to follow.

@70: That's how my involvement with the doctors actually started, with the declining hearing. It came on gradually over 10-15 years. With mine, it's more like something is swollen and during extreme swelling in there, I get the attacks of vertigo.
I find it interesting that you are having attacks of vertigo and your daughter is having hearing trouble...I would almost certainly blame something environmental for that. If you run those 'air cleaners' that produce ozone, I'd stop that...ozone is bad, not good. The worst attack of vertigo I ever had was caused by one of those 'lightning balls' novelty lamps that make the artificial lightning...filled the room with ozone and I fell asleep with it running...I was screwed for a whole day after that.
You can email me at canadave -at- live -dot- ca if you want more details...

True, true. My kittehs were like that, too.
For some reason, I loved 'em anyway. I despise Democrats who act the same way.
But the big difference between kittehs and, say, Osama Obama is that the pusses are happy little creatures who make their malicious acts against humanity somehow appealing and enjoyable. Entertaining, too.
And kittehs don't want to destroy us. They want us to be happy, so we'll keep feeding and petting them. As a rule, they don't bring in every freekin' stray in the neighborhood to be fed, either.

I'm absolutely serious about this. It's tied into the whole identity - self-esteem thing. It's a 'handle' used to manipulate people. This is what they want in folks.
Obama is the 'prototype'. Our hope, as it were, is based on one key foundation--that they may have rushed the schedule before it was ready. (Patience, to our advantage, is not a key trait of the NSP...)

I agree with McScribbler, describing this as "a yawner" is ridiculous. Each month of 9.5% unemployment should be a f'n outrage. I understand the numbers not moving but the comparison is not with last month but what the numbers should be. That's why this report should be a siren call. It's like a freak'n air raid warning during WWII. Nobody would have said "there goes that siren again, what a yawner".
Put it this way, if 5% unemployment is full employment then its like Defcon 5. 10% unemployment would be Defcon 1. We are basically at DEFCON 1 employment wise (and ecomonically). We got the President running around acting likes things are Defcon 5 just making shit up about "recovery summer"
