so we're throwing in another 60 billion for roads and bridges?
correct me if i am wrong, but isn't that what the first trillion stimulus was supposed to be for?

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will call on Congress to pass new tx breaks that would allow businesses to write off 100 percent of their new capital investments through 2011, the latest in a series of proposals the White House is rolling out in hopes of showing action on the economy ahead of the November elections.
An administration official said the tax breaks would save businesses $200 billion over two years, allowing companies to have more cash on hand.
Why this couldn't be trying to buy votes right before an election could it?
Posted by: TheQuietMan at September 07, 2010 05:28 AM (1Jaio)
Didn't they hold back half the first stimulus to dole out at election time (at least that's my theory)?
Is this that money or a new stash that has been created?

Wow. Check this out. Turns out that the Lying Fraud of a President of the U.S. (LFPOTUS) lifted his "They treat me like a dog" remark from an actual Theodore Roosevelt speech, only without the context.
Roosevelt was more or less jokingly referring to remarks by his opposition about his real dog - and then the 'they treat me like a dog'.
Fricking Barry. What a lame excuse for a president we have.
Did anyone watch any of his speeches over the weekend? He's a travelling commedian. All he can do is make lame ass jokes about those opposed to him. Shockingly, there still seem to be those (union officials, no doubt) who still can find it within themselves to politely laugh at his weak comedy routine. The only thing that fills his suit is his disgusting ego.

Let me be clear. I am economically challenged. I take advise from Paul Krugman and Tom Friedman.
Targeted tax cuts are for some of you, but not all of you. I get to pick.
The democrat party will never stop our war on the productive private sector, the evil "rich", and non-union workers. We get a power-rush from picking life's winners and losers. der.

What they amount to is removing the cost of doing business from the supposed profits. For example, if you start a buisness selling shit to stupid Democrats (because they love eating shit and voting for it) and in starting that business you buy a new computerized cash register for $1000 under today's rules you must amortize that cost over 5 years even though you paid out the total cost this year. Let's say that in your first year of operation it cost you $100,000 to open your shit store and you grossed $50,000 in sales you will pay taxes on $30,000 "profit" even though you actually lost $50,000 of your original investment.
But the Democrats call that a "break". They didn't take all of your money.
He also discussed the 50B new stimulus scam. He said the same thing I did. It is noting more than political rhetoric. It has zero chance of passing congress.

Americans' economic struggles persisted in July, largely unchanged from the previous month, according to The Associated Press' monthly analysis of conditions around the country.
Nationally, unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcy rates didn't budge from June. Yet the economic pain varied among localities, depending on their economic bases. Stress eased in counties whose work forces lean toward areas like agriculture, mining, wholesale trade and finance.
By contrast, counties with many employees in the retail and real estate industries suffered higher distress in July, according to a statistical analysis by AP.
How can this be? We were in the middle of Recovery Summer

The day when they have run out of "other people's money" has arrived and the communists still can not see the writing on the wall.

I'm in Singapore as some of you know but I'm from a very small town in Texas and used to be on the city council when I was U.S. based. Before the 2008 election I chanced to meet the black city secretary in the taco shop and she was worried about BHO then. She surprised me by asking, "Dave, do you think he's the Antichrist?" I will go back before the midterms, in part to vote, though I could do it from here. I will look up Sue and see how she sees it now. She will shoot straight because that's her default setting. Thanks to Ace and this crowd, I can assure her the president is not the Antichrist because the Antichrist wouldn't be such a fuckup.

Finally released on DVD???? I have had this movie on DVD for years and years.
The movie that was "finally" released on DVD last week was "Once An Eagle" from 1976. Josey Wales has been on DVD since 1999.

In a speech over the weekend, Barry said that his opponents were treating him like a dog. He used those words. Problem is, they weren't his words (or his teleprompters words).
He sees himself as a reincarnation of Franklin Roosevelt (I said Teddy earlier - my mistake). He plagerized the comment directly from one of Franklin Roosevelt's speeches.

I'm in Day 5 of a vicious chest cold...I can finally feel the crap in my lungs breaking up. Got a cough that scares the cats through closed doors.
What's the best whiskey (keep in mind I'm funemployed) to slop in my tea to deal with this crap?

Audit finds Sharpton's nonprofit on brink
An accounting firm hired by Al Sharpton's National Action Network found the civil-rights group in such financial disarray that it flunked its record-keeping -- and may not even survive, The Post has learned.
But that doesn't tell the whole story.
This should:
KBL said it was "unable to form an opinion" on the accuracy of NAN's financial figures "because of inadequacies in the organization's accounting records."
IOW they are "cooking the books" and....
"The organization has suffered recurring decreases in net assets -- and has been dependent upon advances from related parties and the nonpayment of payroll tax obligations
they haven't been paying their taxes. Sounds familiar, but then again so does this:
In 2008, federal prosecutors decided to drop a criminal probe into the finances of Sharpton and NAN.
Now what happened in 2008?

Any cheap whiskey is good if you are going to put it in tea. I recommend R&R; you can get it here for $16.00 per 1.76L bottle. In a high tax State like SC that is damn cheap.
But, I can tell you that although it will make you feel better in the short run, it will not do much for the cold.

Morning. I had a dream last night I came up with an idea for a drama. People were like, "Why would anyone watch another detective show?" Because this show is going to be filmed during the day. People were going, "Oh, man, that is cool. But what are you going to do at night?" I said look up. We were in a studio, but light was bing piped-in through a system large mirrors and prisms. The light had a slightly green quality, like the tinted light that comes in through the top of your windshield, but, nevertheless, people were like, "Oh, that is genius. A detective show about a detective who works during the day. It'll be great.
So, there you go, Hollywood. Another free idea from AoSHQ.

I am continually fascinated that Obama can act like an idiot, say stupid shit, and get a free pass from those that search for and condemn inappropriate speech.
The truth is, I am surprised this pansy of president could manage to get the bowling ball to the pins. Probably used those gutter rails.

I mix together 1/4 cup each: lemon juice, honey, brandy, then put about 2 TBSP. in a cup of hot water. Works at least as well as anything over the counter. Lemon breaks up the mucus, honey soothes your throat, and the brandy reduces the coughing. Vic is right, it won't cure you, but you will feel better. Actually, get whatever is cheapest- I use the brandy I have for cooking.

We need to draft Dennis Miller to run for president. Think about it. All solutions would be practical, smart, and funny. Occasionally irreverent. Press conferences would be a blast. He could charge networks for interviews and appearances and help solve the deficit. He could waste foriegn and domestic assholes with humor.
Hey, when I get going, I'm an idea dynamo.

Which is, you know, funny on a sitcom, less funny when it's the POTUS doing it.
