Trailer: "Hobo With A Shotgun"
— Ace

The scariest horror movie premise in history.

Oh: This movie actually has a connection to a Moron. The director here will be doing a segment in a horror anthology movie, The Theater Bizarre, which features a wraparound/theme of the Grand Guignol theater in Paris. A Moron is producing that.

Now, where did he get that idea from? It's a mystery.

No, but seriously, he didn't know I had suggested that idea.

Thanks to RobertP.

No, It's Not Old: People don't know the background to this. I should have explained.

"Hobo with a Shotgun" was originally just a trailer for a non-existent movie created for a Rodriguez/Tarrantino Grindhouse competition.

People liked it so much they made the actual movie, as was the case with Machete.

This trailer is not just a trailer, but a trailer for a real movie, now completed.

Has SNL Found a Black Guy to Play Obama? Fred Amisen was okay. This guy is... also okay. Not really a trade-up, but then, they don't just hire people to do one single impression.

There are some guys out there doing great impressions.

This guy's, Jay Pharoah's, is at 6:14. He doesn't get Obama's odd manner of ending words (which Aminsen does) nor his ending sss's with a Dan-Rather-like whissssstle.

35 Checking out the synopsis from IMDb, it sounds pretty good to me:

"A vigilante homeless man pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city's crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how - with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail."

Guesses:

Hobo is also a Viet Nam vet who got a little "cooked" by the violence he saw over there while protecting most of his squad from an entire batallion of crazed gooks.

He's proficient at killing, because his squadron was Delta Force, Recon, or SEAL.

He lost his wife and son when he returned to the states--to crime.

Hell, I'll just tell the answer, since apparrently I'm the only hillbilly here today.

The shotgun bore is the same as a lead ball, with the diameter of a size that the guage size is the number of said diameter lead balls that would weigh a pound.

In other words, 20 lead balls of the diameter of a 20 ga. bore would weigh a pound.

The exception being the .410, which is actual bore diameter in inches.

In the old days of market hunting, shotguns of up to 4 guage were used.

96 Duke Nukem Forever is running on current tech, not DOS like previously thought. The game looks amazing, with no signs of being years old
Allen Blum, one of the level designers from Duke Nukem 3D is still working on the game.

The trailer for Duke Nukem Forever begins with aliens returning to Earth. They tear down a statue of Duke. They are after Earth's women.

Duke runs across a huge three-breasted demon. In classic Duke style, he says, "I'd still hit it." The game has the shrink ray gun again, as well as a rail gun, tons of alien weapons, and huge enemies.

A driving sequence is up next. Duke is driving through a canyon in a monster truck. Alien ships are shooting the canyons to drop boulders in his path. The monster truck eventually runs out of gas, and Duke has to go on foot. Luckily he has an alien sniper rifle and a pistol with a laser sight.
Next he encounters some of the pig aliens. They are incredibly agile, more boar-like in their movements: They gallop on all fours and are brutal at close quarters. One of them drops an RPG when he's killed. This area is vast and completely open, reminiscent of Borderlands. As expected the RPG makes a big mess of the pigs -- blood is everywhere.

I said the other day that I was hearing snippets of stuff like this from all over the place.  People talking about all kinds of "deals" and how to prevent her from running against him in 2012, she would accept the VP slot and then go right into the 2016 slot as president.

This video though really deserves its own thread...."

106 104 Duke Nukem Forever is running on current tech, not DOS like previously thought. The game looks amazing, with no signs of being years old.

Nice.  The graphics on God of War 3 looked damned amazing, and if Duke Nukem Forever looks even half as good as GoW3 did, then everyone should be blown away.

I love the title, Hobo With a Shotgun.

What could be more out of control, more dangerous, more unpredictable?  Worse than a loose cannon on deck, a hobo with a shotgun.  Like trying to get away from a dropped, pin-pulled grenade.  Run!

It's the answer to snakes on a plane.

122 36 Checking out the synopsis from IMDb, it sounds pretty good to me:

"A vigilante homeless man pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city's crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how - with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail."

he hasn't been on the game for a just over a year now when everything was handed off to Randy Pitchfork and his crew at Gearbox. And other than Borderlands, you can always chalk up Gearbox at being quick and efficient (and that's starting from scratch) while releasing some killer games.
