There's the political class, then there's everyone else.

...An overwhelming majority (88%) of the Political Class are confident in members of Congress to handle current economic problems. Nine-two percent (92%) of Mainstream voters don't share that confidence...

Ever wonder who THEY are? The ones who are always out to get us - the dark shadowy cabals plotting to keep their jackboot heels on the necks of the common man? I'm starting to get a sense of who THEY are.

13 Sweasel posted an interesting question the other day; why is it that most ordinary people are quite happy to retire from their jobs when they get older, but certain professions, politicians especially, are loathe to leave office even as they become old and decrepit?

An innate need for power and status, right? That's the type of person who is drawn to such an occupation in the first place.

26 Interesting in reading the report that the two groups that are Confident are (a) those making under $20K/ and (b) the Political Class.

Assuming there's not a lot of overlap between the two groups, I'd suggest that maybe that 'safety net' is working a little too well.

I've often found that people like that tend to be in very secure positions where they're either on a pension, or they

couldn't be fired unless they were in jail, or they had a nice trust fund or other backstop.
