Even if you are the postman (our previous chocolate lab liked to climb in the postman's truck and ride around with him on his stops. God bless the man for letting her.) And I'm not a sir, I'm a ma'am, thank you very much.

I don't think it is so cute. If you look closely you can see the dog is trying to hotwire the car.

So you can add Grand Theft Auto to his attempted Breaking and Entering charge.

I get to see my dog today - she's staying with my daughter in Phoenix. She's a terrier/lab mix. They also have an Australian Cattle Dog.

Did that lady have barbed wire on her fence that covered a yard that was probably 15-20 square feet?

is she keeping livestock back there? why the barbed wire? Maybe she was running a grow operation in her basement.   She couldn't remember the officers name after he said it several times. I think she was stoned out of her gourd.

27 This is why the dems like to let people out of prison, provide welfare, and forgive them taxes. Most of america doesn't have the brains of a lab. At least a lab will get it's own food if it were starving.

The screen name is self-deprecating - 'Zonie' is the disparaging term that Californians use for residents of Arizona. After four years in CA we are planning to move back to AZ.

33 Fox news just said that Andrew Cuomo called al sharpton to assure him that his administration would be diverse.  It is the first all white ticket of the dems in over twenty years.

I have never understood why news organizations and politicians pander to Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. As far as I know they hold no public office, have never held an elected office, and don't represent anyone but themselves.

Their only objective in life is to get in front of a camera and extort money from large corporations. if we had true justice in this country both of them would have been in jail long ago.

My dad freed the neighbor's dog who was hung up the same way. The only difference is their dog was the neighborhood nuisance, and eventually had to be put down after it took a chunk out of his owner's arm. (Maybe that's what saved my dad from being the bitten one, the pooch was ever grateful to him.)

It was a big dog. Dad was a contractor, he just ran into the garage and grabbed a pair of wire cutters, then went to work. The lab in the squad car is just too adorable.

35 I don't think that was barbed wire, I think it's chicken wire.

Not chicken wire, chicken wire has smaller octagonal shaped weaving. That appeared to be standard 4x4 cattle wire fencing.

My wife came out a store once and got into "her" car and noticed a large dog looking at her with intense curiousity from the passenger seat.  Turns out, it wasn't her car but the same color and model.

She was a bit shaken.

Well that's two major chapters in American history verboten...

Speaking of history, I am recently fascinated with the reaction to the Stamp Act.  In addition to effigies of officials hung, burned, and decapitated, mobs burned down the personal residences of officials who complied with the act.

The contemporary Tea Party is awfully tame.

As soon as I post this a new thread will come up and I will never get an answer.

Talk radio keeps talking about Obama's gulf fail. I think he is wanting it to do as much damage as possible so that he can nationalize the oil companies. No one wants to touch that. Even Rush said that he was slow rolling help to hurt Jindal. It looks obvious to me but am I wrong here?

Well, you were right on your first point! But no, I don't agree about the nationalization part. However, looks like we can kiss off any new-offshore oil drilling for the next several decades.

Kind of the 3-Mile Island effect.

59 Awwwwww. I love dogs. I have two, though one acts more like a cat (she's not my favorite, but she's cute, so...) A neighbor has a pair of german shepherds he takes around the neighborhood off-leash and they are so well-behaved and beautiful. My big dog would be OK until he saw a squirrel, then I'd need a tranquilizer gun to get him back under control. Twit.

62 58-Dagny, you have an interesting observation. I originally thought that the rig was blown in order to stop deep sea oil drilling by a group like ELF. Since there is no evidence of foul play, I presume that the length of time to correct the problem was due to A) ineptitude on BP/Admin's part or B) deliberate ineptitude on Admin's part. I never thought it would be used as an excuse to nationalize the industry. That is rather terrifying.

Way OT, sorry:

The night before last someone else was using "Cowoby" as a handle in the ONT.  Then last night, I think the same person was using "somecowboyguy" in the ONT.

I've been reading here for a long time, making comments just now and then, so it's not like I own the nic, I just didn't want others to think I had suddenly turned into a blog scold, telling everyone they need to be more serious (in the ONT!) in their anti-progressive efforts.

So, if you read a superficial, especially non-witty comment--that's probably me, the original Cowboy!  A comment essentially saying--"Hey, you over there, STOP HAVING FUN!" Well, that's the other guy.

Sorry for the interruption.

Still right after numerous scientific inquiries into this issue, cheap cell phones no conclusions have been reached. A main U.N. study released last month, for instance, discovered no clear link between cell phones along with the risk of developing brain cancer. Business representatives see that as a cause to oppose a law like this. "They're just responding to unfounded concern," said John Walls, a spokesman for market trade group CTIA-The Wireless Association. He said the law "could quite likely confuse and mislead consumers."
