— Ace Your government at waste. Washington is spending the equivalent of an additional low-ish income on every single household in America.
Taxpayers filing their 1040s are likely wondering just where all their hard-earned tax dollars are going, anyway.• Washington will spend $31,406 per household in 2010 — the highest level in American history (adjusted for inflation). It will collect $18,276 per household in taxes. The remaining $13,130 represents this year's staggering budget deficit per household, which, along with all prior government debt, will be dumped in the laps of our children.
• Government spending has increased by $5,000 per household since 2008, and nearly $10,000 per household over the past decade.
Yet there is no free lunch: If spending is not reined in, then eventually taxes must also rise by $10,000 per household.
Social Security and Medicare cost just under $10,000 per household and then follows defense at $6,700. And then come the more cuttable costs.

Don't worry everyone, I have a plan. According to Malia's algebra book, if I multiply the deficit by minus one, then the amount becomes positive. Math is normally above my pay grade, but Axelrod told me that if that amount were a positive number, then we'd have a surplus!
Therefore, I will issue an executive order that we shall multiply the deficit by minus one!
...What? Don't look at me like that. I'm smart. I went to Harvard. Yokel.

Hey remember when Obama promised to cut the bdget deficit in half by the end of his first term? Remember that farce?
Everyone except the 'journalists' in the media figured out Obama was just gonna jack up the budget by trillions in his first 3 years and then simply cut it in half in his 4th year.

If you have any skills that contract workers are used for get in touch with the firms that place people as contract workers. That's where all the action is. my wife, with mucho skills and degrees, was out of work for almost a year; finally broadened her search to contract work and was placed almost immediately. The kicker; she gets paid time-and-a-half to work over 40 hours a week, which she did regularly on salary (for no extra dough, of course) Both government and private firms are relying on contract workers to get stuff done without the pain that goes with actually hiring people.

Screw a "means test." The gubmint held a gun to my head during my entire working life and expropriated funds that I could have invested for retirement at a much higher rate, and would have allowed me to leave something to my kid if I died early. This was all on a promise that I would get a return of some kind on those funds when I retire, as long as I lived. Now that feds have totally mismanaged the program (shocka!), and I'm supposed sit quietly when they tell me that my net worth makes me ineligible to collect on the promise that they made to me??
In the big picture, this is a great illustration of why the feds should NEVER have gone into the annuity business in the first place. In the smaller picture, FUCK 'EM, IT'S MY MONEY AND I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE IT UP BECAUSE I HAVE OTHER MONEY!!!!

Hey, I'm a smoker. Not only do I have to pay for everyone else's health care through the worst taxes in memory, and that insane suti against the tobacco companies where $250 billion was frittered away and is now gone (though I had to pay for it in cigarette prics), but they keep taking SS from me when the government tells me that I won't even live to collect anything. They want to hit me with higher health insurance prices, even though smokers die earlier and more quickly and, consequently, cost less than others.
We smokers have seen, for a long time, what insanity resides in the governments (federal, state and local) and what they will destroy in their insanity - both with collecting money (from people they say are as addicted as heroin junkies - not something I agree with, but the official position of the federal government) and with stomping all over the most precious of rights - private property - in order to try and demonize us.
There are not even words for the absolute torture and pain I wish on these people. Brazen bulls are too good for them. They deserve far, far worse.

I'm starting to think we need a department thats sole job is to look into govt spending. We need them to pour over from city all the way to d.c. spending. I'm willing to bet there are tons of programs that aren't needed anymore yet get money funneled into them. There are likely duplicate programs and offices that exist yet all get money funneled into them. There are also likely many programs that require an inordinary amount of steps that could be streamlined to get rid of unneeded forms, steps and maybe even some departments that all cost money but do nothing but get in the way and duplicate effort. No department should be immune (not even the military as this is probably a place where a lot of these unneeded steps and programs exist.)
There are also so many stupid loopholes and deductions that need to go as well. Unless we look at some of this stuff and try to get rid of the unneeded, anything that is done will only be a temporary solution and we'll be right back where we started.
