— Gabriel Malor UPDATED (3/18, 4:20EDT) Welcome Rush Fans! You can find Gabriel's most recently updated whip count here.
[DrewM.] Rush was talking about this post, so I've moved it up so newcomers can see it.
First a note on the whip count. In one sense, a public whip count is pointless. It's only as good as each congressman's publicly stated word, which we all know is worth spit. On the other hand, one way of making congressmen more accountable for their word is to share it with as many of their constituents as possible. Demanding that they publicly declare their position, like what you see going on for the past week on the left, puts pressure on them to stick to their word.
It also helps give us an idea of who to target. Folks who fail to take a public stance are, perhaps, persuadable. Obama will persuade with bribes. We can bribe with votes. One of my favorite writers wrote: "Corruption means elected officials trading votes for their own advantage; democracy means a bloc of voters doing the same thing. The electorate knows the difference." And that's exactly what we're talking about with the healthcare shenanigans going on in Congress.
Alright, and now for the whip count update.
Dan Maffei says he will be voting for the healthcare bill, so I've removed him from "Yes, but Maybe" and added him to the Dems definitely on board. Same thing for Ann Kirkpatrick. Same with Mike Doyle.
Jason Altmire announced that "deem and pass is wrong", but that doesn't mean he won't support the bill. So I'm not moving him out of the "No, But Maybe" category just yet.
On the bright side, Glenn Nye is making noises that sound like "no" via email to constituents. Unfortunately, there's no public statement and he's still waiting for a final bill before he decides. So I'm not moving him out of the "No, But Maybe" group.
Finally, Ace and some others think Dennis Kucinich is about to switch from "Not No Way" to a sure vote for the bill. I'm going to wait to put him in the "Definitely Yes" group, but I'll move him to "No, But Maybe" to reflect that he may be having second thoughts about his Sunday op-ed which blasted the Senate bill.
All told, that gives Pelosi 192 votes. She's 24 short. There are 26 "maybes" left.
Thanks to Ryan, shank, enoxo, Brian, and Shooter McGavin.
Late Edit: Gahh! I was counting as if there were still 255 Dems in the House. There aren't. There are only 253. Which means that Pelosi is two votes behind where I thought she was. Total is adjusted to match. Somebody better check my math...
Alright, the names are below the fold:
No Pretty Much Means No:
These were twenty-one "No" Democrats in November who still make noises that sound like "no". Nancy is trying to get a few of these to change their votes and the President is prepared now to offer bribes like the Louisiana Purchase. This group goes in the Definitely Not, Not No Way, Not No How category, having already announced that they will stand by their earlier votes.
John Adler (NJ-3), Dan Boren (OK-2), Bobby Bright (AL-2), Ben Chandler (KY-6), Artur Davis (AL-7), Chet Edwards (TX-17), Tim Holden (PA-17), Larry Kissell (NC-8 ), Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24), Frank Kratovil (MD-1), Jim Marshall (GA-8 ), Mike McIntyre (NC-7), Mike McMahon (NY-13), Charlie Melancon (LA-3), Walt Minnick (ID-1), Collin Peterson (MN-7), Mike Ross (AR-7), Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (SD-All) Heath Shuler (NC-11), Ike Skelton (MO-4), Gene Taylor (MS-4).
Wont Vote For A Bill That Kills Babies:
Then there's the Stupak Dozen. These are "yes" votes in November that are now "no" votes. The confirmed members are: Bart Stupak (MI-1), Marion Berry (AR-1), Joe Cao (LA-2, Republican), Jerry Costello (IL-12), Kathy Dahlkemper (PA-3), Joe Donnelly (IN-2), Steve Driehaus (OH-1), Brad Ellsworth (IN-8 ), Dan Lipinski (IL-3), Tom Perriello (VA-5). The conjectured final members include Henry Cuellar (TX-28 ), Marcy Kaptur (OH-9).
It's An Election Year:
Then there's the other "yes" votes who have publicly switched: Mike Arcuri (NY-24), Chris Carney (PA-10), and Luis Guterrez (IL-4). I wouldn't count on Gutierrez to stand by his "no" threat, though. He looks like he's trying to wring some concessions out of the leadership on the proposed comprehensive immigration piece of shit. Carney is a lock; he wants to get re-elected. Arcuri sounded pretty sure of himself, but we'll see.
Maybe:
That leaves the maybes. There are ten who voted "yes" the first time, but have refused to commit to voting the same way this time:
Tim Bishop (NY-1), Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8 ), Baron Hill (IN-9), Paul Kanjorski (PA-11), Alan Mollohan (WV-1), Solomon Ortiz (TX-27), Bill Owens (NY-23), Earl Pomeroy (ND-All), Nick Rahall (WV-3), Zack Space (OH-18 ).
And there are sixteen who voted "no" the first time who could be victims of Rahm-in-the-lockerroom-with-the-lead-pipe bullying or Cornhusker Compromise bribery because they haven't declared yet what they plan to do:
Jason Altmire (PA-4), Brian Baird (WA-3), John Barrow (GA-12), John Boccieri (OH-16), Rick Boucher (VA-9), Allen Boyd (FL-2), Travis Childers (MS-1), Lincoln Davis (TN-4), Dennis Kucinich (OH-10), Bart Gordon (TN-6), Betsy Markey (CO-4), Jim Matheson (UT-2), Scott Murphy (NY-20), Glenn Nye (VA-2), John Tanner (TN-8 ), Harry Teague (NM-2).
So Pelosi needs 24 out of 26 maybes to break her way.
NOTE: If you think I've got one of these guys in the wrong group and have a public statement from the Congresscritter demonstrating it email me at [gabriel.malor at gmail] and I will update the count.

Folks, I'm reminded of Nov 09 where we counted electoral votes constantly and some of us thought we had a chance not to lose. Not reminded in a good way, but reminded.
I'm in the 'assume the worst, hope for the best' camp these days. It amazes me the depths we've seen our government sink to lately

This is far, far more than standard corruption. This is an intentional undermining and a purposeful scorching of the governmental earth behind them. The Dems and The Precedent are acting in a way that the US has never had to contend with before. What they are doing is using illegal, and insane, means to expand power and subvert the Constitution - and doing this all in broad daylight with total impunity. This is what people used to call a coup d'etat. You kid yourself if you think this is anything less, because things only get worse, as they've done since The Precedent came into office.

It's gonna happen. I wrote my congressman yesterday to tell him I knew he planned to vote for the shit sandwich, but to ask him to man up and not vote for the "deeming it passed" sauce. I don't expect much from the little weasel. I don't even expect him to have the balls to vote on a bill. I just wanted to let him know not everyone in his district likes it up the ass.

I seemingly heard the exact opposite yesterday. The little socialist weasals at ABC radio are good little propagandists, so 'Bishop X says he supports the notion of covering the unsinsured...' turns in to 'The Catholic Church backs Obama's...'

The Catholic church is not going for this because of the abortion part of the bill. If they would change that, the church would be all on board with it. But, they can't change that or they lose the progs. It's the only thing about this that I am enjoying.

People are focusing on Dems in red/purple districts.
Remember that Mass. is as blue as it gets. Frankly, I think they have no conception of what awaits them, both as individuals and as a party.
If this passes, Democrats will go down from dogcatcher to Senator. If it passes, it doesn't matter if they voted against it, they will go down.

Too little too late. This and they support just about everything else in the bill is why I wrote on our monthly collection envelopes -- SEND TO OBAMA.
Posted by: Barbarian at March 16, 2010 09:13 PM (EL+OC)
Many members of the 52+% that voted for Obama because they believed he was a centrist -- instead of the far left ideologue many of us knew he was -- should look in the mirror and admit that they were duped and played for dopes by Obama, who has to be laughing at them for being such rubes. Instead of examining Obama's past, his associations, his experience (or lack thereof) and his voting record, his supporters celebrated and idolized the jerk like he was some sort of teen idol simply because they wanted to act enlightened by voting for a minority to be POTUS. Now a health care system that most Americans are happy with in its current state -- though, as with any product or service, they would like to lower its costs -- is going to undergo unnecessary wholesale changes that will not only damage the quality of health care in this country but also cripple our country economically for generations. This is like a bad nightmare that I had hoped to never see during my lifetime.

I spent the better part of the evening drafting a letter/email that a conservative friend can send out to his contacts in one of the 10 "maybe's" district. Perhaps some of this can be useful to my fellow morons and you can craft your own email.
There is a Winston Churchill quote that is applicable to this fight. This is the attitude we must have:
"We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
(Dear Congressman,)
I write to encourage you to oppose government-run health care and any legislation which might broaden the federal government's control over my health care.
Current health care legislation will result in lost health insurance and lost jobs for the American people and will push us deeper into recession.
Nobody has ever attempted this level of centralized planning. The federal government does not have my trust to run a program as big as the economy of France. I disagree with how this whole thing has been handled, behind closed doors, with favors or outright bribes. The way this is being done feels wrong, especially this Slaughter shenanigan. I agree with the WSJ, who said yesterday, this “gambit is a brazen affront to the plain language of the Constitution.”
If this "reform" is truly about "controlling costs," why did the democrats rig the estimate on the first decade of costs by delaying the programÂ’s start by five years? Why hasnÂ’t tort reform be front and center? Why hasnÂ’t opening up competition across state lines be part of the proposal?
The federal government should NOT be funding abortions or health care for illegal immigrants. No matter what the democrat leadership says about this, I donÂ’t trust them. And I donÂ’t trust the government to interfere with the doctor/patient relationship.
Lastly, how the heck are we going to pay for this monstrosity? The country can’t afford another huge program; you saw how Moody’s warned yesterday about “preserving debt affordability,” right? Last week S&P warned our triple A credit rating was at risk. The only way the U.S. will rise to the financial challenges we face is if we stop spending money we don't have, and that means voting no on this healthcare bill.I hope that you fight against health care legislation that would drive up costs, diminish quality and limit access.
It is just not right, especially not in a republic, to cram this down our throats. There’s a reason the congressional switchboard was nearing overload Tuesday – people don’t want this!
The Washington Post reported Nancy Pelosi suggested Monday that she might attempt to pass the measure without having members vote on it. Are you kidding me? So you want to go from passing bills without reading them to passing bills without voting on them? Are the democrats crazy?
Please listen to us and vote no.
Sincerely,

Good point. Obama probably would have won anyway, especially since the GOP's candidate was so weak, but Powell sealed the deal and gave the man-child the credibility he obviously didn't deserve. Personally, I never was terribly fond of Powell, even back in the '80s and '90s, and I don't see why he's still a registered Republican. If he can't vote for the GOP's candidate when it's a moderate veteran like McCain, then who is left the GOP for him to vote for anyway? Does he think that the late Nelson Rockefeller is coming back to run for higher office?

Obama was elected because he was black. That's the only reason. The Dems and the Media (BIRM) wanted him in the White House so they could assuage their liberal guilt.
If he was white, with the same background, achievements, etc, he'd be Dennis Kucinich, in other words, nowhere and staying there.

yes, you are an eeyore. You've seen this tactic again and again-give the illusion of success despite the reality. it ain't over til its over. The tougher it is to get the votes, the more they crow that they already have them. It's called give the impression of inevitability and deject the opposition. It is doing the opposite though-making more people even more determined to stop this.
This thing is so far beyond toxic and they all know it. Worse yet, THEY will not be the ones to hold the power if this thing gets through. I'm thinking when the repubs take office after the wipedout of Dems, first law made is any elected politician loses their cushy special healthcare and gets the same crap the rest of us do

No one will ever know the final count, only that it was the NoPublican's fault health care failed.
This allows all Obamacrat weasels to be flexible about how to campaign in the fall on this issue, unifies Obamacrats instead of fractures it, and, mostly, it puts the NoPublican leaders on the defensive trying to explain how it's not their fault Obamacare didn't pass. We all know the NoPublican leadership can't figure their way out of a wet paper bag, so the Dem's will easily carry Congress in 2010.
Perhaps they'll even say holding Congress is a mandate and double down with a bigger and better public option rerun in 2011.

#45, I mostly agree...having faith in the Pub leadership to properly exploit this exclusively Dem-made mess is still a tall order. But, I think that the Dem power-grab has been so breathtakingly ham-handed and toxic that they still have no hope of holding the majority...at best for them, it gets pared to a bare minimum. This sham has gone on for so long that the Dems really can't count on the voters to just forget it ever happened. And hell, opposing this legislation is a badge of honor and the Pubs should do nothing but explain why they opposed it.
Lastly, the Dems seem to be prepared to move on to other deeply unpopular things like amnesty and cap-n-tax, however this health-care thing turns out....stand back and watch them implode.
Posted by: Damn Sockpuppet at March 16, 2010 11:47 PM (1B/ID)
Here's the scenario. Pass ObamaCare. Then, amnesty for illegals--10 to 20 million brand new Dem voters to keep them in office. They will do all they can, legal or not, to keep themselves in.
There's only one thing more powerful to Dems than their incredible, incindiary hatred of all non-Dems; their love of power. They're kind of like the Daleks only not as entertaining and way more dangerous.
Posted by: BeckoningChasm at March 16, 2010 11:56 PM (eNxMU)
She just might get that 24. In Congress-speak "maybe" means "how much you got?" She'll probably get the votes if she can dole out enough party favors.
On the other hand, she's not likely to be speaker in a few months, so the value of her good isn't what it was a year ago.

First a note on the whip count. In one sense, a public whip count is pointless. It's only as good as each congressman's publicly stated word, which we all know is worth spit.
That is the key right there. How many of those who have said no to protect themselves from voter anger will vote yes and likewise, how many have said yes to protect themselves from being poked in the shower will vote no?
We have heard so many outright lies on this issue you can't believe anything anymore. Especially if it is coming from a Dem.

LOL, you guys arguing about which State is worse, CA or NY. I have lived in both, although NY was only a short time. At the time I lived in NY (Winter of 71-72) in Saratoga the area was fairly conservative. Not so much in CA in the Bay Area. That probably colors my thinking somewhat but I feel like it would be easier to turn NY around than CA. The hardest part about turning NY around would be “the city”. People in upstate at the time wanted to disown “the city”.

Everyone always thinks that if an area is completely blue that there are no republicans or conservatives. I think that isn't true. The problem is they are socially neutered if they say they are a republican or conservative so they end up sort of being in an ideological closet. If you don't hold the politically correct beliefs then it is "open season" on you so you just keep your mouth shut. My friend said "you can say you are LGBT and no one says a word but if you say you are a conservative everyone is in your face." Oddly enough he can say he's gay but he can't say he is a gay conservative.

On the other hand, I went to Romney's book signing a few weeks ago, and sort of got the vibe I got virtually from listening to Boston radio prior to the Brown election. It is true there are a lot of non-affluent strivers in NY (as everywhere); the whole set of recent immigrants comes to mind, who could be swayed by someone who spoke to the nuts and bolts of an opportunity society.
So both places, at least when it comes to Presidential politics, can probably be turned around. The problem is Congressional Districts and gerrymandering
(Dennis Prager has proposed that Districts be drawn/redrawn by computer---DREAM ON.

Isn't it strange that the libtards when in the majority will get all in your face if you say you are a conservative, but when the opposite is true the "hating" conservatives don't do that when someone says they are a liberal.
Speaking generalities of course.

Boy you got that right. Look at that district that Slaughter comes from! CA is also bad which is why Repubs simply do not have a chance there.
I wonder why the courts have never struck down gerrymandering the way they struct down "at large" elections in the South? They seem to have zero problem interfeering in the political process if they are seeking some kind of affirmative action goal, but leave it alone for other things.
No I don't wonder I know. "Gerrymandering" started out as a liberal thing in MA. "At large" elections were in the evil South. Liberal court, liberal outcomes.
In a sane world with a real court gerrymandering would have been found unconsitutional long ago.

From Michelle Malkin:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is asking all female Democratic Members to attend a hastily called meeting Wednesday morning but isnÂ’t saying what the meeting is about.
PelosiÂ’s office sent an e-mail out Tuesday evening requesting that all female Democrats come to the Members-only meeting at 10 a.m.
An aide to one Democratic Member said Pelosi’s office said the topic of the meeting was “to be determined.”
At a guess, it may be the meeting where she admits that she doesnÂ’t have the votes for the bill without an abortion ban to lure in Bart StupakÂ’s coalition.

With due respect, I don't think Kucinich is the canary in the coal mine here.
If the Dems think they have the votes to pass this thing, they'll call a vote, and not before. Its that simple, and Pelosi has indirectly said as much.
So the time to conclude that Obamacare is likely to pass is when the vote is announced.
Note that even then that's still not an absolute guarantee it will pass. . .it just indicates a strong likelihood. You never know until the actual vote happens who may flip unexpectedly, or who many not show up at all.
Presumably Pelosi is trying to whip together a few spare votes "just in case", but the way it looks now, she's still short.
Calling a meeting of all female House members to talk about a topic that hasn't been decided yet? (Rolls eyes). . .yeah. . .I believe that one.

I think it got buried on the wrong thread, but that's my take, too.
The big factor now is TIME, not votes. If Obama's March 21 "deadline" fails, it's time for Dems to pray. Congressional Spring Recess begins March 29; if there's no vote by then, it's dead.

Along those lines, any talk along the lines of "we might not get it done by. . .[this weekend, Easter, whenever"] is that much more indirect admission that it probably isn't going to get done at all.
Its already late Wednesday.
If the Dems want to meet Obama's deadline and get this thing passed before the end of the week, they're going to have to announce a vote pretty soon.
If they want to meet the 72 hour full-text-to the public notification requirement (which they sure as f@$k don't care about, and probably won't meet), they're going to have to announce the vote almost immediately.

"The House Republican whip team just held a conference call in which they said that the Democrats have 206 yes votes for the health care bill. They need 216 to pass it. There are currently 51 Democrats who are said to be undecided and the leadership can afford to lose 37 Democrats in all, which sounds like a pretty tough road for opponents of the bill (without the Stupak language on abortion, all Republicans are expected to vote no).
Chief Deputy Republican Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) nevertheless said he felt this week had hurt Democratic vote-getting efforts somewhat. He argued that the Slaughter rule did not sit well with some wobbling Democrats and "will make the American people very angry" if the leadership actually tries to go through with it (McCarthy seemed to suggest they won't). McCarthy said that usually when you talk about process, you lose but "this year, I think process does matter." He said that the Scott Brown victory suggested that voters wanted the Democratic leadership to be more responsive than they have been during the health care debate.
Rep. Parker Griffith (R-Ala.), a recent party-switcher from the Democratic Party, talked about some of the things the Democrats will do to whip their members. Griffith said they will "know your demographics," "know how much cash you have on hand," "know how popular Obama is and Pelosi is in your district," and know if you want a "road project," "medical school," or "have a severe Medicaid shortage that needs to be shored up." Griffith said that as a physician and former Democrat, "I saw firsthand that the Republicans had many good ideas that were ignored." "
From Phil Klein at Amspec blog. Don't know if the "yes" votes are all committed or include "leaning."

I can't name any specific examples, but I'm sure its happened. . .more than once. I also can't name any specific examples, but I know for damn sure that there have been instances where Congressweasels have made PRIVATE assurances that they would vote a certain way, but then cast their votes in the opposite way.

If Pelosi were SURE she had the votes, she'd announce a vote. The problem is that she may be fairly close, or even believe that she likely has them, but not be absolutely sure.
The WORST thing she can do, from her perspective is to call a vote and then lose the vote, because then the bill and all her hard work go down the tubes, and she'll get a big chunk of the blame for it personally.
Her seat is safe, and she knows she isn't going to be Speaker come next year. So no rush for her. . .she can afford to wait on a vote until the end of this Congressional session if she has to.
I think right now she is still seeing whose arms can be twisted, and waiting to see who comes out of the "undecided" category after the proposed "Fix" texts come out.

I didn't see this mentioned. It's from the National Republican Congressional Committee web site:
Is this Another Backroom Deal to Force Obama’s Bill Down the American People’s Throats? As a vote approaches on Obama and Pelosi’s government takeover of healthcare, Code Red is now considering two supposedly “undecided” California Democrats, Dennis Cardoza and Jim Costa, to now be “yes” votes.
The U.S. Department of Interior announced yesterday that it is increasing water allocations for the Central Valley of California, a region that depends on these water allocations to support local agriculture and jobs. The region has recently been starved for water and as a result unemployment has soared. Not surprisingly, Cardoza and Costa had a hand in the announcement:

That happens all the time...then what the sleazy fuckers will do is "change" their vote after the fact in the congressional record. You see, the floor vote, which is what matters, isn't the same thing as what's recorded for posterity later on in the record.
This after the vote vote changing shit is something else that needs to be eliminated too. Its only purpose is to deceive the electorate.

Would not be surprised if they were inundated with cards, letters, emails and faxes since his last mention. However have you noticed how he get what he wants no matter what, even if he has to bypass the legislators.

The people in that district are majority Hispanic, so it's a safe bet it's solid blue. Some Hispanic comic was out there helping them protest the government-induced drought, and if I'm not mistaken some Republicans were jumping in. Silly. Those are people who see the government as giveth-ing and taketh-ing away, and the minute the government gives them what they want, they'll be back on the government's side.

Her seat is safe, and she knows she isn't going to be Speaker come next year. So no rush for her. . .she can afford to wait on a vote until the end of this Congressional session if she has to.
Pelosi personally has nothing to lose. She will not only not be Speaker, she won't be minority leader. I'll bet she resigns her seat in January. (Former Speakers either become minority leaders or quit the House altogether.)

I sent the following to John Tanner (D) of the 8th Tennessee district.
The Honorable Congressman John Tanner,
I understand that you have taken a position that is listed as "undecided" on the healthcare proposal before the legislature. I also understand that you have stated that you will read the bill prior to voting for or against it. I am curious how you can know what is in the bill, when Speaker Pelosi has declared that it will be pushed through so that "...we can find out what is in it".
If the House votes on the so-called "reconcilliation" measure, I am asking that you vote against that measure, as it will certainly be a vote for something that none of the members know what it has in it.
The CBO cannot properly grade this bill, as to its cost, because they cannot know what is in it either. As one that calls himself a fiscal conservative, I don't see how you can go along with this measure.
Also, I asked you several years ago, "Why would you be a part of a party that endorses things that you have declared that you are against?", and your reply was that you could not be a part of a party (The Republicans) that try to force people to side with them on an issue. It appears that now that when the Democrats had the super majority, that is exactly what they were doing to their members.
I hope you are considering your legacy in the issue of healthcare. You can leave office with the legacy of being a "YES MAN" to Speaker Pelosi, or you can leave with a good conscience. If you leave with that good conscience, your voice may be heard by the voters when you endorse a candidate to replace you.
Sincerely,
Phillip Senn
Troy, TN

Bills need to be wholly related to their purpose. No riders. no pork. If an item cant stand on its own then maybe it should not pass. There is a heavy opinion of corruption around these things that get "slipped in" I don't think the American people should be held hostage because someone will vote no unless you "slip this in" If a good bill needs help then you rally and explain the bill get we the people behind it. Lies and deceit, or the appearance of lies and deceit hide in complication.
If a bill is too big for people to understand how can it be defended by the common person to a detractor or effectively promoted.
When this Obama care bill is promoted to me I always ask what is so good about it. People come back with vague generalities unable to communicate any specifics to support a viewpoint. They leave me feeling worse than when they arrived. I don't resort to telling anyone they are stupid as that does not promote active, thinking, or meaningful conversation. Most people know they need something but cant articulate the benefits.
This is true for bills from both side of the aisle. The bills are too big and the people think correctly so that its a big bait and switch at times. For example if you call a bill the "Save the little puppies bill" and it has little if anything to do with saving puppies. Thats dishonest. If you "slide in" something that provides money for orphans, thats dishonest and shady. Money for orphans may be good but it should pass or fail on its own.
This is of course my opinion

House leadership always wins close votes. She won't bring it to the floor unless she is very near 216, and a few no votes can always be flipped to yes on the floor. Remember Medicare part D? Hastert held the vote open for 3 hours until they could flip someone. Imagine that you are a "no" Congressman, the vote is open, and you forgot your empty water bottles in the car. The Seargant at Arms is standing in front of the doors, and you are not allowed to leave the House chamber until the vote is closed. Your bladder pressure is rising and you need to go now. Madame Speaker makes clear that the vote will stay open until she gets to 216 ayes, even if it takes all weekend. She is offering special deals to flippers. You either change your vote or you wet your pants. Most Congressmen will change their votes.
The best way for Obama to flip reluctant Congressmen is to guarantee them good, long term employment after they lose their congressional seats. Unfortunately, Judgeships require Senate confirmation. The most Obama can truly guarantee is 2 years of employment, after which it will be legal for a Congressman to become a lobbyist.
There is zero chance that any meaningful part of Obamacare will be overturned by the Supreme Court, and repeal won't be possible until 2013 at the earliest. It is best to stop this pig now.

Kucinich has only not supported this legislation because it did not have a "public (government) option". Obama finally has let Kucinich in on the truth that the "public option" (along with other governmental controls) will be added later, once this is passed or assumed to have passed. So now Kucinich supports the legislation that he vowed not to support if there were no "public option". Make sure you contact Kucinich and let him know his political career will be over if he votes for this.
It is amazing how many people in the US want a free ride. Such as Unclefacts who said this would be the first time he had health insurance that couldn't be yanked away at any time. Really ??? So you are one of the large majority of people who do have healthcare insurance. Now you want it decreed a right and have others pay for it. Why would you want to destroy the best medical system in the world when all that is needed is an adjustment of medical coverage ? Opening up the free market by allowing us to purchase insurance from any insurance company in the nation would be a good first step along with Tort reform. I am sure there are other tweaks to the system that would help lower the costs, but I'll leave that to the experts and not some community organizer who doesn't like the way capitalism works.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job,

The beauty of these blogging engines and CMS platforms is the lack of limitations and ease of manipulation that allows developers to implement rich content and 'skin' the site in such a way that with very little effort one would never notice what it is making the site tick all without limiting content and effectiveness.

What youre saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I also love the images you put in here. They fit so well with what youre trying to say. Im sure youll reach so many people with what youve got to say.
