— Ace What a shock.
I had no idea this was coming when Obama sent troops to the border (only to check for guns and drugs, not illegal immigrant traffic).
It was unclear yesterday whether ClintonÂ’s comments were simply a prediction or mistake or whether instead she was getting ahead of a planned announcement by the administration. Now a senior administration official tells CBS News that the federal government will indeed formally challenge the law when Justice Department lawyers are finished building the case. The official said Justice is still working on building the case.
Ed wonders who Obama's constituency is:
The Obama administration informed the Ecuadorian people of this decision before the White House informed Americans.

And then the Arizona response should be even more fun.

This sort of gets to my point in the previous thread. It seems that Brewer's popularity stems from the fact that she is standing up to Barry and the lawless out- of -control federal government..

Yeah, and how about the 3500 acres that this Obama administration has ceded to Mexico basically by posting signs for US citizens saying that it is too dangerous for law enforcment to enter this huge section of the state of Arizona. Obama has decided that this 3500 acre corridor into the US is just perfect for human trafficing and such things so he has given the mexican nationals full command of the area: there are heavily armed Mexican miltias with machine guns that escort the human trafficers in and out of the US.
So rather than try to keep the people of Arizona safe from kidnapping, murder, car jacking, human trafficing, drug running, gangland gun fights, and other kinds of fun brought in by these Mexican militias Obama is going to sue Arizona for being bothered by all this criminal activity.
And liberals think it is great that we are giving up part of one of our states to the control of foreign national militias. At least they are not those nasty right wingers who foolishly think we should be safe in our homes because the Government protects us. Not according to Obama! Obama will be the first president to give states away because he is too lame to defend his own countrymen.

I assumed that the panel (charles, Juan, etc) had spoken to their contacts and gotten the word deep background that Clinton was right.
Just sayin. It often happens that you can tell the panel has more information than they are willing or able to say publicly.
Charles even said it was a good idea, which sounded like what he would say after it was a done deal, and not an argument against it

And here I thought states had the sovereign right to establish law- law that already exists at a Federal level. Fascinating. It's like smoking a hooter while prosecuting a guy for smoking a hooter. Congrats USSA. We have truly mounted a new summit of insanity.

From that WSJ article:
Customers will likely be required to pay new monthly maintenance fees on the most basic accounts that don't generate a lot of activity. To avoid a fee, customers will have to maintain certain account balances or frequently use other banking services, such as credit and debit cards, automated teller machines and online accounts.
What ever the WSJ is paying that reporter they need to reduce it by 3/4. That has been the basic policy of BOA ever since they bought out my bank here. IOW, there is no change here. You have ALWAYS had to pay fees for basic checking if you didn't maintain a minimum balance.

He has no constituency that he is working for. All The Precedent wants is to take this nation down. He will do everything and anything to foment chaos in our society. He doesn't care if everyone (except for 90% of blacks) is against him. The more heat he can generate, the better he thinks it is.
As to American blacks' large, unwavering support of him - he doesn't give a shit. He hates them like he hates everything about the West. They just haven't realized it, yet, just as Britain hadn't realized that he hates Europe as much as he hates the US, though they are finally beginning to understand that.
The Precedent is only playing to the third world. Once one realizes this, everything he does makes sense. He's still an inept retard (thank G-d) but there is some sense to his moves and attitudes. The Precedent is like Hannibal, without any of the actual talent.

Well, it will either be Jerry Brown or Meg Whitman. Brown definitely would not, and Whitman has some ads up on Spanish TV & radio pandering specifically on 187 and trying to do a mexican hat dance be against SB1070 while not specifically coming out against the law, which is very popular in CA.

Just to be pedantic (and because this almost never gets mentioned) Arizona's law is not an immigration law. It's a law that identifies those illegally in the US and holds them, either in Arizona jails for breaking that law, or for ICE to deport.
Arizona has made no laws concerning naturalizing anyone, has made no law taking legal residency status away from anyone, and has made no law which Arizona uses to deport anyone. Arizona's law is far short of an "immigration" law.
This wasn't directed at you, but only to make the point of the difference between Congress' power to make uniform laws of naturalization and Arizona's law making it illegal to be in Arizona illegally, according to Congress' law.

One of the 30-second spots, aired during World Cup games and other programs, highlights Whitman's opposition both to a recent Arizona law targeting illegal immigrants and to Proposition 187, a 1994 voter initiative that would have cut illegal immigrants from state services.
At one point in the ad, Whitman is shown dining with two Latinas in a restaurant full of Latinos as an announcer says in Spanish, "She respects our community."

And by the way: Kathryn Bigelow, producer of The Hurt Locker, is working with the same writer on a movie about the jihadists working in the tri-country area where Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet.
Officials in Paraguay and Argentina feel pretty touchy about the perception of their countries, specifically as it relates to the tourist trade. Want to make a movie that might cast part of those countries in a less than flattering light? DonÂ’t expect them to cooperate. The Hurt Locker creators Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal have been working on a film called Triple Frontier, which is set in and named after a region that is formed by the intersection of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.
Now officials in the latter two countries are refusing to cooperate with the film, on the grounds that it will portray the region, and by extension, each country, in a negative light.
The New York Times quotes Argentina’s tourism minister Enrique Meyer saying that he has talked about the film with Paraguay’s tourism officials and the governor of the Misiones province in Argentina. The minister says, “We all agreed that we were deeply indignant when we discovered that this project seeks to negatively portray this region shared by three South American countries.”

in other words the voters Carter & Mondale had in 80 and 84, I argue he won't get 60% with Hispanics, they've turned on him and now he's back to normal Dem approvals w/ them, plus while Blacks voted for him w/ 95% of their vote, about 85% approve of his job if a rep gets 10% of the black vote the rep wins even the closest race (see Bush's 2000 & 2004 Black vote gains), and even jews have turned on him, jews gave Obama an incredible 75%-80% of their vote after Bush got ok numbers w/ them (still lost them big though) and yet only about 57% approve of the job he's done, an Obama loss might just be another Reagan landslide if we pick the right candidate

Joy Behar and Jeaneanne Garafalo are sad. Oh, and terrified of Sarah Palin. From Newsbusters, via Tim Blair's Daily Telegraph (AU) blog.
On WednesdayÂ’s Joy Behar Show, HLN host Behar led a discussion of President ObamaÂ’s Address to the Nation with left-wing actress Janeane Garofalo and liberal commentator Ron Reagan, all of whom had some criticisms for President Obama regarding the BP oil spill and his speech on the subject. Garofalo started off complaining that "the prayer thing he did was pandering and anti-intellectual and just sort of a waste of time." After Behar pointed out that Obama had placed some of the blame on Mineral Management Service members who were still in place from the Bush administration, Garofalo did not give Obama a pass: "Right, so why did he not take care of that when he got into office?"
Reagan complained that his speech was "too little too late," and that "he`s a corporatist like all our other Presidents have been for a long, long time. That`s what`s being revealed here. Barack Obama is just as much a corporatist as George H.W. – or George W. Bush was."
While Behar was generally more inclined to defend Obama, at one point even she asserted that President ObamaÂ’s failure to meet with the head of BP was "so Bush, Bush-like. It`s shocking that he`s behaving this way," prompting Garofalo to lament: "I don`t know who's giving him the worst advice in the world. I don`t know, I don`t know why this presidency has been as disappointing as it has been. I really feel like he`s being advised terribly."
After Behar fretted that "some Sarah Palin clone" who would be "even worse" might replace Obama, Reagan pessimistically concluded that "you get somebody worse if itÂ’s not Barack Obama":
BEHAR: And who`s going to take the place? Who are we going to get instead of him? Some Sarah Palin clone, or she herself? It`ll be even worse.
REAGAN: That`s the dilemma.
BEHAR: Isn`t that`s a scary thought?
REAGAN: That`s the dilemma for liberals. That`s the dilemma for progressives and liberals is you get somebody worse if it's not Barack Obama, even though Barack Obama isn't doing what we want him to do.

Absolutely. I also brine my Thanksgiving turkey.

That's happened before to Mika - on air. That was back when I used to watch Morning Joe every now and again, in Feb or March 2009. I think it had to do with the Porkulus.

A lot of places you have to hunt for them. With all of the rib-eyes and boneless rib roasts out there you wonder what they do with them.

"If we're talking about pot, I'm not for the legalization of pot,” Palin said. “I think that would just encourage our young people to think that it was OK to go ahead and use it.”
“However, I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts,” Palin added. “If somebody's gonna smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society.”

The Counter suit against the WH would be worse... I would love to take the case...BUT... Keep in mind that this was well calculated prior to taking oath... They knew that their term would (basically) neuter (by synchronization and integration) State's defenses... See section 1822 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2008 (Public Law 10-181) i.e. Council of Governors...http://bit.ly/aYvoOf

@168: "Ever see The Kentucky Fried Movie? It had the "Daredevils!" segment, where the World's Greatest Daredevil was suiting up and putting on his helmet for his most death-defying stunt ever: walking into a biker bar and shouting, "Hey! All you pussy bikers SUCK!" And then running like hell."
Uh, no it didn't, not in the theatrical release, at least. In the theatrical version, he walked up to a group of black guys shooting craps, stood in the middle of the game, and yelled a word that can't be printed here.

1.) "Ed wonders who Obama's constituency is:" Huh? Who is Ed? Ed who? Relevancy?
2.) Predictably, Holder's lawsuit against Arizona will be 50% chickenshit and 50% bullshit.

My Senator is Bill Nelson. He blindly follows Reid in EVERYTHING! Just saying so no one thinks that I'm seeing blue birds of happiness every where. I've written - forcefully - about the law suit and the announcement of it in a foreign contry. I think every one needs to do this even though it probably won't make a difference but ... and this is as big BUT ... we need to keep hammering at the 'elitists' in DC that we ARE watching them and we are NOT happy about what they are doing.
After the Novemeber elections (assuming that control of the House changes party) I'm going to start hammering my Representative about Constitutional Amendments. A lot.

That was basically how Alaska law used to be. People were allowed to grow something like 4 plants in their homes, and they weren't allowed to transport, sell, or smoke outside. What they did in their homes, however, was their business.

You know what? I believe you are right! I think my memory edited itself to take a National Lampoon joke and transpose it with that scene in the movie. I accuse myself of subconscious political correctness.

I wonder if the Indonesian Imbecile is going to ask Arizona to stop arresting bank robbers. Bank robbery is a federal rap, after all, and we can't have local cops showing up at bonk robberies and possibly arresting the perps. That's the feds' job.
Who thinks this bank robbery part will be added to the suit - to get those bothersome Arizona cops out of cases of federal jurisdiction? (I guess the FBI will have to have beat "cops" start patrolling Arizona to be there for bank robberies that will take place ...)

Late as usual, but my quick gut reaction is that, while a disgrace, this is not a bad thing in pure political terms.
There appears to be a pretty substantial majority of Americans that support efforts to increase border security and to curtail illegal imigration. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't sense this will be any kind of slam dunk for the administration. If AZ fights back hard both legally and politically, this could be another situation like Obamacare where the administration, the Democrats and the media showcase their true colors and vision of where the country should go. That is a debate we should be licking our chops to have.

I have been driven by fashion and return to using this type of moccasin, which has not done since the 10 or 11 years. However, in aged skin that gives a much more current. If I'm correct this issue "used" is achieved by waxing the skin and then brushing the wax burns and, to be darker than the skin makes a patina reminiscent of the shoes and other leather goods that have been used for long
