 A fair point. But two other outfits that have some reputation were showing far worse. The University of Delaware poll was a fraud; they sampled random adults less than a month before an election.

This will probably come down to turnout; and that's why all the Dems have been here. They need urban Wilmington and the suburban liberals to bother to vote.  Republican enthusiasm here was almost 2 to 1 over Dems. We need to keep that.

A) included Castle
B) was nearly a month ago - which was before the media witch hunt, literally.

Last week a FOX/Por-Ras poll - which uses the smae methodology as Rasmussen, showed OD down by 16 points. The debate helped her a lot, and she has enough money to swamp the airwaves.

She has momentum and if she gets to at least within 5 points, she will win.

A little support by the Republican Party would be nice. Both Obama and Biden were in downtown Wilmington today at a $100 per plate affair (the downtrodden who they represent, no doubt) to support Coons. Traffic was a pain in the neck BTW.

Also, my reading of the Wilmington News Journal - the local Pravda - was that the coverage of the debate was spun in favor of Coons. There were a number of quotes from local pundits of sorts along the lines of how if you start your commercials with the "I'm not a witch" meme, you're in trouble. It was implied that Coons was smoother, and they harped on O' Donnell's punt of the Supreme Court "gotcha" question. They also ran a "fact check". At some point O'Donnell made an example of how Obama's $250K tax hike "threshhold" would hurt the pizza shop owner who grosses $300K but has to pay 4 employees and all his expenses before he sees a cent. The paper said this was so much malarkey, totally false. There were a few quotes from people who supported O'Donnell, but IMO just enough to provide the media worms with plausible deniability. But maybe I'm just paranoid.

It is not just that. I heard that woman lie on a radio interview about how many counties she won in 2008, she just plain lied. She was not tricked, it was not a mistake..it was a lie...and yet we are supposed to just ignore it because Hannity and Rush say she is a true conservative and because Palin backed her. My thought has always been to vote for the conservative, but with a line in the sand: if you are unethical or unqualified, I can't support you. I won't support your opponent if he or she is liberal, but I will not help you.

I will vote for O'Donnell even though I voted for Castle in the primary for pragmatic reasons, and even though I think O'Donnell is a very weak candidate and have serious concerns about her. Coons is far, far worse, pretty much the prototype liberal Democrat. A shorter John Kerry with no war resume, a little less money, more arrogance, and less hair. beyond that, the situation is too grim and too important to vote for ANY Democrat, no matter what, in any race, and no matter who they are, for the foreseeable future. Going even further, abstaining from voting under current circumstances is not enough, the situation demands a positive vote against the Democrat in all cases. I hate choosing the lesser of two evils and wish there was a conservative candidate to be enthusiastic about here in Delaware, but there is no other answer. Sometimes that's just the way it has to be.
