A Democrat President, on Taxes, 1962
— Dave in Texas

Heard this one on Levin this afternoon on my way home from the airport, but I had heard it before, just seems timely and all.

What was the plan here, to encourage economic recovery, and growth? For the national interest? I think he was saying we should cut taxes, call me crazy and dip my nuts, did I hear that right?

So how badly did Kennedy's tax cuts impair federal revenues? "Tax revenues climbed from $94 billion in 1961 to $153 billion in 1968, an increase of 62 percent (33 percent after adjusting for inflation)."

Well darndy darn. It's almost as if a healthy economy is better than punishing a badly damaged one with tax increases.

Stupid math.

OH! Also, the Giants, they're goin down. You know why? Because I picked em to win against the points that's why.

Kiss of death. Davepick.

41 Mika and Joe Scarborough last week briefly alluded to Jackie O's opinion of Saint Martin Luther King. They giggled a little, asked if they really wanted to go there, and very quickly moved on to the next topic of discussion. I wonder if it occurred to them that their little act of self-censorship eroded their precious First Amendment rights. Did thousands of American boys from places like Iowa and Minnesota die on the beaches of Normandy so that chickenshits like Mika and Joe could so casually subject themselves to PC censorship? It's really obscene.

Yes, somehow Fair became the Weak, preying on the strong...

The not successful, taking from the successful, because of their weakness...

Sadly, the weak feel SAFE in bullying the strong... because society has given them leave to do so... and then often even celebrates it...

I for one, am tired of it... I will no longer be bullied by Political Correctness... I will no longer allow myself to remain silent, while lesser intellects yell and scream about how THEY think I should live my life.

I will no longer allow an all BLACK or HISPANIC group, whose membership is based ONLY on Race, to call me a Racist.

I will no longer allow Womens groups, who wish to defy physics, dictate how strong I can be as a Man.

I will no longer allow Environmentalists, who liter and pollute, to tell me how I must live.

I will no longer allow people to tell ME what I should eat, when I am more healthy, and stronger, than them (pet peeve right now, got three out of shape women all telling me, who at 52 runs, lifts, skis, swims and Fences, how I should excercise and eat...)...

THURGOOD MARSHALL.

Just checked Wikipedia (yeah, yeah). No mention of military service. Kennedy appointed Marshall to the Court of Appeals. Johnson appointed him to SCOTUS.

Marshall was counsel for the NAACP up until 1961 and was famous for arguing Brown vs Board of Education.

137 Some bastard keeps putting a Washington Post newspaper in the middle of my building's floor.  We tenants then have to kick it out of our way and into the way of someone else's door.  How annoying!  Every day for a week now, this miscreant has been leaving his WaPos around like trash, in their little plastic bags!  Finally the maintenance man takes it away every evening, but the kicking every morning is getting on my nerves...and then kicking it out of the way again when I come home?  Ugh.

That worked well in a time when the Soviet Union kept jobs in the United States. No one with half a brain would outsource to a foreign factory when the threat of a communist insurrection put their capital investment at risk.

Now the globalists own the world. You could cut the tax rate to zero and they still won't invest in jobs here. Not at higher salaries they won't.

Do the research, unless it's been scrubbed. Posted by: J.J. Sefton at September 19, 2011 09:25 PM (UlUS4) I stand corrected. It was Justice Byron White whom Kennedy appointed to SCOTUS. He wrote the naval intelligence report on the sinking of the PT-109 and it was Joe Kennedy who bought him off. I believe there's a book entitled "Reckless Youth" that gives the details. In any case, JFK may not have been a SCOAMF, but after losing Cuba, derailing civil rights, getting us embroiled in Vietnam and nearly stumbling into World War 3 (not to mention the dalliances that make Clinton look like an amateur and his daddy's miserable megalomania), he definitely was a COAF and a total media fabrication. Camelot was a myth that really needs explosion.
