A Helpful Reminder
— Slublog

Remember this?

Today, I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America--they will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

Obama sure doesn't:

"I mean, we would be a nation of potholes, and our airports would be worse than places that we thought -- that we used to call the Third World, but who are now investing in infrastructure."

See also here.

Obama lies. Constantly. Shamelessly. If it's not too much trouble, could I ask someone in the media to ask him or his spokesman how he justifies his current rhetoric in light of his promises to end it?

Read mass transfer of federal tax funds to someone's cousin on the bus payroll split with the mayor and cronies.

The they complain that there is no money for actual roads and bridges.

But the real problem is that the Republicans, even when owning all the houses will not reverse this kind of crap.

41 UN*FUCKING*REAL:

At a fundraiser yesterday BO said this:

In response to another question, he used ThursdayÂ’s visit to the White House by the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to make a point about the need for good job opportunities.

“I had the emir of Qatar come by the Oval Office today,” Obama said. “Pretty influential guy. He is a big booster, big promoter of democracy all throughout the Middle East. Reform, reform, reform. ... Now he himself is not reforming significantly. There’s no big move toward democracy in Qatar. But you know part of the reason is that the per capita income of Qatar is $145,000 a year. That will dampen a lot of conflict.

“I make this point only because if there is opportunity, if people feel their lives can get better, then a lot of these problems get solved.”

Call back this morning, it went out this morning, will get there tomorrow.  Given tracking number and try to look it up..."There is no record of this item."

Call USPS 800 number.  We can't find that either, try the DC post office.  Call there...busy.  Call again, they pick up the phone and hang it back up.  Call back, someone answers!!! Hooray!!  Ask person on phone, "is this the branch that picks up from the passport office?"  WE DON'T PICK UP!  Oh, sorry which branch receives the mail from the passport office.  She gives me another number and hangs up.  Call there, "Oh, you need to call the carrier station."  Call the number, it rings...and rings...and rings...

I've tried 5 times with no answer.  So now my vacation hinges on the post office...I'm really excited for that.  Fuck!

The problem is if you mail it, there is no way to guarantee that you'll get it back in time.  Also, you can't apply for an expedited passport until 14 days prior to travel.  I've been traveling and haven't bee able to get to the passport office.  I called them and they assured me that I would be fine.  I paid the extra fees and was told that it would be mailed on Thursday.  If they hadn't guaranteed that, I'd have gone back to pick it up.  Why couldn't they at least have sent it FEDEX?  I'd feel a lot better.

89 Obama is a lawyer; most dem leaders are lawyers. Think about what a criminal defense lawyer does - he actually doesn't care if the serial killer he represents is guilty or not - he represents him based on "priniciple". So he twist reality to fit his claim of "innocence:. The lawyer can represent good as bad and bad as good; they can be prosecutors on Monday and defenders on Tuesday as long as payday is Friday; all in the name of ideology. Sound familiar - that is the way government is now - ideology trumps reality at the expense of truth. But remember - truth prevails over doom but doom comes first.

113 After hearing Obama's campaign speech on Weds, I've arrived at the conclusion that this mane simply CANNOT have another team.

He must be defeated.

As pissed of at the GOP as I am, and I am very pissed off, I would even vote for Romney. IMO, if Obama gets another term there will be no 'next time'. The country will collapse before 2016.

He'll likely get two more Supreme Court appointments, possibly more. If the court tips liberal, then the rule of law is gone and he can and will do anything he wants to us. We are already seeing terms like 'tax expenditures' enter the lexicon.

Further, we'll see confiscation of wealth and income, outright seizure of retirements funds, land, and anything else they can lay hands on, and destruction of the economy, resulting in the government taking it over because 'the free market failed'.

Folks, we CAN'T let this happen; he must be defeated by whatever means necessary. This is truly one of those 'ends justify the means' scenarios.

No more playing nice.

Enjoy the ride Sparky. Sooner or later the unemploymment, inflation and miasma will be credited to you. Not that unemployment is much of a deciding point with his core constituency.  My personal question is when does CA start reacting to unemployment and inflation? Dittos MI, CT, NY, etc. When that happens, then the country can move forward. As long as the press tells people that bitching about things is the norm rather than fixing something this mantra will continue. Just how stupid are Americans?

One other thing, his constant whinning that things were'nt perfect when he took office and fixing things that others broke (his worldview) is unfair. Exactly how childish is the man-boy? Did he really think presendentin was waygu beef and golf? What a child. I guess they don't talk about such things in the faculty lounge. Its all glorious collective triumph with these clowns.

Carl Cameran was saying yesterday that BO's budget palm was only 8 pages long.  Some WH budget guy defended it saying, that's all you need.  I was thinking, but every other bill in Congress right now is 1,000 -10,000 pages long.

Weird how if the WH has no clue they submit 8 pages or nothing, but when their plan is actually to change America it takes huge ass bills to hide everything in, and no one calls them out on it.

130 Maybe Ace if we had Republican leaders and a media who weren't pussy's and called Obama what he is, instead of always ' he's a good person we just have disagreements on the direction of the country"... look at Trump people like him, because he isn't allowing the media to dictate what's acceptable or not in talking about Obama.

Every conservative that goes after Obama the media targets , try's to shame and then the loser conservative and republicans  elites slowly distance themselves all the while pretending they are, not because liberals and the media has told them that person isn't acceptable in polite company.

Why is it when democrats referenced Bush they did it with contempt and mockery, and the public didn't hold it against them it was Bush's rating and respect from the public that went down, even though he always kept a respect tone with democrats, because people don't respect you if you allow others to speck bad about you and you don't defend yourself... that's why Obama goes after republicans and him and his media friends are desperate to make sure republicans don't treat him in kind, that's was why to did this no tone crap, to hold republicans in line.

Is this the hope & change they were hoping for?

Last Saturday through Tuesday, thousands of Bay Area residents flocked to the Oakland Coliseum, where they received free medical, dental, and vision services - services that they couldn't otherwise afford.

...

This was the scene every morning at the Oakland Coliseum from Saturday to Tuesday - a four-day mass free clinic put on by Remote Area Medical, a nonprofit that provides free medical care to people in isolated areas around the world and in the States. The organization usually provides care in extremely impoverished parts of the world, but it was invited to the Bay Area by the state's association of oral surgeons. With the help of thousands of medical and administrative volunteers, more than 3,000 patients are being served this week.
