— Open Blogger You may recall when a clean-cut Tea Party patriot brought a lawful AR-15 to an Arizona rally a couple of summers ago. The 5th columnists at MSNBC went all monkey-poop over it. The numbnutted Beltway ninnies had puppies.
In short, it was a Very Important Moment for the leftocracy, as they could demonstrate how dangerous the bitter, racist clingers of the broad center really are.
Fast-forward to this week. Same state. Another rally. This time, a whole crew of AR-15-toting, tactical-camouflage-gear-wearing, political-discourse-spewing rednecks show up. They're intimidating. Like they own the place. And they're there for the protection of the protestors against the police and other authority figures.
Practically a... militia, you might say.
Of course, the kakistocracy in academe, Washington, and the news media have been falling all over themselves to condemn this dangerous posse of radical extremists. You can't go five minutes without tripping over a blog item or newspaper article about them. Right?
Right?
Well, actually, no. You can't find this anywhere. It's been embargoed. Disappeared. Just like Stalin did it, back in the left's good old days.
If it weren't for Glenn Reynolds digging up a SayUncle story, who knows how long it would be before we got wind of this?

Jeebus, all you have to do is say you saw Sarah Palin toting a gun with them and the presstitutes would fall all over the story. Maybe Sarah should show up and talk to them?

My personal favorite part of that was chopping the guy's head off in the framing of the pictures so that you couldn't see that the guy carrying the gun was black.

I think the point is the fact that they're "protecting" the OWS crowd and there's no mention of them in the media. When a law abiding citizen took and displayed a weapon at a TEA Party rally, it was OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG........

Imagine the story if this group had shown up at a TEA party rally.
That's the bias.
Posted by: wiserbud at October 27, 2011 09:42 AM (3Okgs)
And, IIRC, that guy wasn't even at the TEA Party rally. He was at some other unrelated (or only tangentially related) rally which was some distance away, but happened to be in the same area.
You know, as opposed to being right in the middle of them and threatening to respond to the cops with violence.
Posted by: AllenG (Dedicated Tenther) says 'No' to RINO Romney at October 27, 2011 09:42 AM (8y9MW)
>>If you listen to these guys they aren't lefties. They are 2nd amendment supporters and seem to be anti-illegal immigration. There are plenty of cases of media bias out there, but this ain't one of them.
This is bias through omission. There are guys in full military gear with AR-15s, you don't think that's newsworthy?
It was when it happened at a Tea Party.
It's their right and I'm not arguing with that, but it seems like this should get a little bit of coverage, no?
So what if the guys carrying the guns aren't 100% aligned with OWS, were the Lyndon LaRouchie's with their NAZI signs at Tea Party rallies aligned with the Tea Party? No, but it was reported as such.

This guy actually makes correct and cogent points on the conservative side, for the most part. I think the important thing to note here is that the media hasn't talked about these guys because OWS is a LEFT WING movement. By showing up at a left wing movement, these guys can practice their 2nd amendment rights and not be hounded for it.
Pretty smart move, IMO.
Posted by: ICBMMan at October 27, 2011 09:45 AM (HMGTw)
Yup, anything that could possibly be painted as any sort of negative for the OWS crowd will be dutifully ignored by the MSM.
If it were a Tea Party these would be insane anti-immigrant gun toting baby eating rednecks looking to shoot the first person of color they see just to watch them die.

Don't get me wrong - the media wouldn't hesitate for a second to use non-conservative Tea Party attendees to trash the Tea Party. (as an example, Mr. Communist Manifesto who flew his plane into the buidling was built up as some sort of conservative.) And I know they would bury this story even if the gun-toters were undeniably liberal.
But I'm saying in this instance, it's not really fair to tie these guys to OWS.

J.T. (Jason Todd) Ready, a former member of the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement, specializes in bashing immigrants. After being court-martialed twice, Ready was discharged from the Marines for bad conduct in 1996.
Ready, who has run for various Arizona offices usually without success, advocates for the placement of landmines on the border and rails against Jews and nonwhites.
In June 2010, Ready led a group of armed extremists into the Arizona desert to apprehend immigrants and drug smugglers.

53 This.
Not every person who "supports" the 1st and 2nd is a "good guy" -- or at least not everyone who says the correct talking points in regards to these is. At any rate, it would be a plus in their eyes to see the 2nd overturned so that only the "proper people" were allowed to possess firearms (and they would work towards that just as assuredly as any hippie). Same goes for the 1st -- only the "proper people" as defined by them.
Not all lefties are hippies and hipsters, not all of them are commies -- but they are all enemies of America, and it is a mistake to think that they aren't just because they appear (emphasis on "appear") to have some similar beliefs to those who would uphold the Constitution (good work on the part of the interviewer to hand him a copy, and to bring up the Oath Keepers -- did you notice this JT's reaction to both? -- mark it well).

Yeah, there was no violence. Just dumbassery. There's no talking sense into people like that.
I did talk to one kid for an extended period of time. He claimed to be an independent (he wasn't). He instantly popped off with easily refuted liberal talking points which I shot down. He said a lot of "are you sure that's right?" and "I didn't know about that" to certain economic points I brought up. He was an agnostic but was raised Jewish and I told him he might want to go to youtube and look at some of the anti-Semitic comments that were said in NYC (even in the early stages those elements were there).
I felt really bad for the kid. He had a cleft palate and you could tell he'd gone through extensive surgery in his life. He was very soft spoken and very polite. I don't think he's really even a liberal. I think he just has been told that they were the party of caring or something so he glommed onto the people that will speak for him. I gently tried to tell him that people are pawns to progressives. They're all expendable. That's how we ended our conversation.
I guess the day wasn't all bad as I wondered if he went back and looked up anything we discussed.

"Ready has been a vocal and highly visible figure among Arizonans opposed to illegal immigration. Flake co-sponsored immigration reform legislation that failed last year in Congress.
Ready said immigration is the real reason the congressmen are calling for his ouster.
"It just shows that the same open-border lobby, they're showing their hand," Ready told The Republic. "They've sold out to the Zionists and the international bankers." "
When talking about "they", he's talking about Jeff Flake and other AZ Republicans who called for him to be removed from office. This should be a huge story. The Neo-Nazi, anti-Jew "Zionist bankers", socialist thugs are out with weapons protecting their Zionist banker hating OWS brethren. JT Ready is scum who uses what is convenient from the Constitution to try and validate his right to be a militant racist Mexican and Jew hater. He's one of those weird mixes of Left (anti-Zionism/hate the rich), Right (2nd Ammendment rights) and Paulnut (fiat money).

Fucking Nazi. And isn't it illegal for someone with a BCD/dishonorable discharge to buy or possess a firearm? The dishonorable discharge question comes up when I fill out the paperwork when I buy a gun, so I assumed non-hanging lowlife dirtbags like Ready couldn't own one.
I hope Democratic Party leadership's plan to embrace and identify with these OWS protests exceeds their wildest expectations. Nazis, communists, and anarchists all coming together as one. Kinda makes me feel all warm and glowy inside.

I love the video of the cop chucking a flash bang smack in the middle of some protesters trying to help an injured marine who got shot in the head with a rubber bullet. The police said they never used either of those.
I saw the same video. It's a tear gas canister. You can tell because it smokes a while after the detonator goes off (that's the flash). A stun grenade or flash bang will not smoke at all.

Arizona has an anti-militia law:
26-123. Maintenance of private troops prohibited; violation; classification
A. No person, partnership or corporation shall maintain troops under arms, but this section shall not be deemed to prohibit a business, plant or firm from maintaining armed guards for protection of their property from damage or loss, or formation of a state police or highway patrol, or the existence of county and municipal police forces and sheriff's posses.
B. Any person violating this section is guilty of a class 5 felony.

I agree to a point. The initial explosion is nothing more than a pop. I used to handle this stuff routinely and I really do know what I am doing with it.
Having said that, you absolutely do not toss one AT people or in the middle of a group. You toss it to the edge of the group, or depending on wind direction to the back of the group. I got that.
But it wasn't a flash bang and everytime I see someone say that it just gets my blood up.

@UGrev at 206, who wrote, "These guys want to make sure that if there happen to be any of those types of cops among the police presence, then they would protect the protesters in they themselves started breaking the law."
It's hard to parse what you're saying. Are you saying the Nazis are there to protect OWS protesters from bad cops (as opposed to good cops, I guess) who break the law by using flash-bangs and rubber bullets? First, I don't think it's illegal or wrong for police to employ flash-bangs or rubber bullets if escalating violence calls for an escalating response even if I agreed with the goals of a given protest.
In any event, the violence will escalate at all of these protests. Those bankrolling and organizing these Occupy gatherings desperately need dramatic soundbites and footage. More than that, they need martyrs. Someone, somewhere needs to be killed in order to lend greater significance to what would otherwise be a bunch of spoiled white kids milling around beating drums and bitching about student loans.
As an aside, it would be really cool if one of the Nazis became a martyr to the OWS movement. Imagine the fun video possibilities when his Neo-nazi stormtrooper buddies show up in full-dress uniforms at his memorial rally and sing the Horst Wessel song.

unless JT is legally defined an idiot/lunatic and convicted of infamous crimes, he along with nearly every adult citizen and legal resident in AZ are the militia of AZ.
26-121. Composition of militia; persons exempt
The militia of the state of Arizona consists of all able bodied citizens of the state between the ages of eighteen and forty-five years and all residents of the state between such ages who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, except:
1. Persons exempted by the laws of the state or the United States.
2. Idiots, lunatics, totally blind persons and persons convicted of infamous crimes.

"neo-Nazi" v. NAZI Hitler's German Nationalist Party of Fascists
Do note well that today, "neo-Nazi" and "Nazi" are terms nearly always abused/misused, such as Sarah Sarandon's reference to the Nazi Pope, not the "other" one.
About the only thing one can appropriately assume about a white supremacist is that the subject is fighting for "white"-ness. White Supremacists are not necessarily National Socialist Fascists. Just as "not neo just conservative" is not necessarily a constitutional conservative or is not necessarily any other brand of conservative at face value. To determine whatever it is being conserved would require more research than blanket assumptions.
Whatever JT Ready represents at any point so far, it's his "rights". It would take more effort than I'm interested/willing to exert to research indepth the thorough chronology of JT's political evolution. Suffice it to say that he didn't fit into the Marine program, though he's been a "conservative" grassroots Republican activist (Mesa Community College, campaign for Mesa City Council), drawing unfortunate attention to what has been a juvenile absorption, even while trying to grow up.
It would be a foolish mistake to assume that everyone at the Occupy protests are stupid idiots. Watch this Vet's interview to correct any such mistake, as Will Hopkins of New Hampshire is an honorable veteran having served two tours of duty in Iraq. It has nothing to do with "white" and everything to do with demanding responsible governance.

A couple of points.
First, it is proven beyond doubt that JT is some sort of National Socialist. Scroll through the comments or Google it yourself. There's no lack of information. As a matter of fact, there's no lack of pictures of him in a Nazi uniform.
Second, I don't know Will Hopkins, but your position that he cannot be an idiot because he served in Iraq is misguided. I served with plenty of idiots. The military is full of them. It's no different from any other large group of people. I should point out that Tim McVeigh was a decorated war veteran. Didn't make him any less of an idiot.

So JT Ready 'didn't fit into the Marine Program'? The deuce you say!

Bullshit. The fact that that guy is wearing a pseudouniform is clue #1. That means he has no argument and he's relying on some non-existent "street cred." I watched the video, he's a dumbass.
I served some places and did some stuff but I would NEVER use my service as a shoehorn. Despicable fucker, this one. just one more that proves that not everyone who has served is worth a fuck.

211 A guy can live and learn. It would seem from his PHX Occupy appearance that JT's had his Saul of Tarsus epiphany and seen the light.

Gee, you sound like you're getting a little worked up. That didn't take long... You're also getting a little incoherent, and tiresome.

You make that judgment against Hopkins after listening to him. That's a poor reflection on you.
Do explain what it is that you conserve.

You are unable and unwilling to explain "just conservative"?
Not rhetorical, not neo.
Someone calling YOU a fucking Nazi Stormtrooper for due diligence as a constitutional conservative?

Dude, I'm sorry you're fat and bald and you have to pay for women. I'm sorry the gun you hold at protests and rallies holds nothing but little yellow Airsoft balls. I'm sorry the Marines didn't realize the awesomeness that is you, and that deep inside where it counts you're a greater strategist than Clauswitz, a finer mind that Mozart, a greater Soul than Gautama Buddha. If only people could see you as you see yourself...

THIS. is what probably irks me the most about JT Lipshits. I've never met a Vet. who used his service record as a prop for anything other than recruiting or charitable means. I'm not a military man, but I imagine this turd's behavior is pretty repulsive to many who have served with honor.
Posted by: dananjcon at October 27, 2011 12:26 PM (8ieXv)
Amen brother. I served some places and did some stuff, too. My conservatism is based on "I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." I didn't lay that oath aside when I left the Service.
JT looks more than a little like a domestic type enemy.

I'm thinking that "doesn't take long" is having a hard time following the conversation. You say something about JT and he thinks you're talking about Hopkins or whoever. I think he's lost his train of thought.
Posted by: not neo just conservative at October 27, 2011 12:42 PM (01RS2)
I'm not sure where you came from, you're obviously new here. That could be some diabolical plant from the left-wing commie soros-funded army of idiocy, OR, it could be you're a long wolf dumbass, but the fact remains that you're out of your depth.
You're defending the indefensible and because you chose that fight it's a clue that you're not that bright. As trolls go, you get a C-. Only reason you don't get a D is your persistent, but even that wears thin.
Pack your shit and leave.

Failing to respond with anything but "stupid" is what Gen. Honore referenced, "Don't stay stuck on stupid."
You want to elucidate why you denounce Will Hopkins, fine.
You want to detail on another's behalf what rationale not neo just conservative pronounces as worth conserving, if indeed you know him so well, fine.
Otherwise, stupid is as stupid does. You can shit all you want, it's still yours. And I'll have none of it.

I think the part you're missing is that we denounce wannabes and people that use their service to forward their personal agendas. Those run at right angles to one another. The fact that you don't understand that is why we're kicking you in your ass. Because: anyone who has served, honorably, KNOWS BETTER.

Evidently, you profess to know JT Ready intimately as "the awesomeness" yourself, Troy Riser.
Putting it politely, JT produced a jarring illustration spouting Tea Party rhetoric. Given JT's past effort to unsuccessfully join the Marines, and given the astroturf grassroots PAID "volunteers" whom I first pointed out here before ace's post or others commented, you'd surmise that any/all US Military Veterans who protest specific corrupt US Government policy are obviously douchebags. You'd be brain dead to call that "logic".

repeating: so, "didn't take long" what branch of the military did you serve in and from when-when? Since you're apparently so cued in to our code of conduct, tell us why you're so qualified to offer an opinion?

"You want to detail on another's behalf what rationale not neo just conservative pronounces as worth conserving"
I assume that you're using "rationale" as an unnecessarily obtuse way of asking for a list of principles.
What rationale I pronounce worth conserving? Try this. Put the thesaurus down.
I never responded to you because "Do explain what it is that you conserve." is a stupid and pointless question. I know you're trying your heart out to make a play on my nic, but that's barely coherent and you just keep going back to it like it's some kind of sparkling gem of prose and I must have been blinded by its brilliance and missed it. I didn't miss it. I saw it the very first time. I just don't waste my time on someone (unless your name happens to be Bill Buckley) who uses the word "elucidate" rather than "state" or "speak" when the manner of writing is for the express purpose of attempting to show your overwhelming intellectualism to us dimwits.

Still a Nazi? No way! But 'didn't take long' swears that JT had an epiphany and saw the light and became a noble defender of downtrodden stinky hippie persons. A Paladin adorned in the purest white, if you will. Nay one of the six great Amesha Spenta of Ahura Mazda, even.
