Please discuss the Steelers-Jets game here.

Oh, and no cheerleaders, the Steelers don't have any.

Update

It's the Steelers and Packers in the Superbowl.

Both teams backed into the Superbowl and put up poor performances in the second half of their games.

Whew!

Sounds like a good plan to me.  I'm still a bit afraid Bammy might decide to come to the Superbowl, once he started thinking about it.  He said he'd come if the Bears won, but he didn't say he wouldn't come otherwise.

The only, and I mean only, redeeming possibility I can think of in him coming to the DFW metroplex would be the photo op of mister "at some point, you've made enough money"/"I think we need to spread it around" along with "money makes the monkey dance" uber-capitalist Jerry Jones.  Would love to be a fly on the wall if some industrious reporter got the two of them discussing their economic theories.

One of these teams has cheerleaders. Y'all just Google "New York Jets Flight Crew". Now they're not up to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders standard, but they do try. Lots of perky blonde goodness there.

Selfish bitch.  In HS, we had a girl (barely, she was a serious bulldyke) who demanded to play on the freshman team.  Even though they went easy on her, of course she got the crap beat out of her.  Flag football is one thing, but full contact in pads is just not for women.  If that sounds sexist, sorry, but I don't want to see women get beat up.

134 OT, but one of my fluorescent light bulbs with the 7 year guaranteed life burned out after only 14 months. 277 The coach had put together the perfect team for the Steelers. The only thing that was missing was a good quarterback. He had scouted all the colleges and even the Canadian and European Leagues, but he couldn't find a ringer who could ensure a Super Bowl win.  Then one night while watching CNN he saw a war-zone scene in Afghanistan . In one corner of the background, he spotted a young Afghan soldier with a truly incredible arm. He threw a hand-grenade straight into a 15th story window 100 yards away.

KABOOM!

He threw another hand-grenade 75 yards away, right into a chimney.

KA-BLOOEY!

Then he threw another at a passing car going 90 mph.

BULLS-EYE!

"I've got to get this guy!" Coach said to himself. "He has the perfect arm!"  So, he brings him to the States and teaches him the great game of football. And the Steelers go on to win the Super Bowl.  The young Afghan is hailed as the great hero of football, and when the coach asks him what he wants, all the young man wants is to call his mother.

"Mom," he says into the phone, "I just won the Super Bowl!"  "I don't want to talk to you, the old woman says."You are not my son!"  "I don't think you understand, Mother," the young man pleads. "I've won the greatest sporting event in the world. I'm here among thousands of my adoring fans."  "No! Let me tell you!" his mother retorts. "At this very moment, there are gunshots all around us. The neighborhood is a pile of rubble. Your two brothers were beaten within an inch of their lives last week, and I have to keep your sister in the house so she doesnÂ’t get raped!" The old lady pauses, and then tearfully says,

"I will never forgive you for making us move to Pittsburgh!!”

Posted by: Buffalo Bill at January 23, 2011 05:00 PM (yRrAd)

396 Y-not, I would play golf every day if I could.  But I would not spend 5 seconds watching it.

The problem is that I would need a partner and really that would need to be my husband, 'cause I just can't envision finding anyone else I'd want to spend that much time with.  But I am sure I'd be a lousy driver.  So even with the handicap on scoring (and the different tee positions) it would probably wind up being very frustrating to have to hit the ball so many more times than he'd have to.

I wish they made a "real" golf course that was pitching and putting so physically different players could really play together.  I don't know why the PGA hasn't figured out there's a market for that.  They seem to be trying to get more people to golf, including women, but they don't seem to get that for a lot of us the driving is intimidating.  I mentioned it to Billy, but I could tell he didn't know what I was talking about. I think he mostly works with men and all they want to do is drive.

We will probably still try going to one of those week-long golf classes sometime and see if we can get good enough to enjoy it casually.

Watching it is still fun.  The courses are beautiful, the announcers tend to not be annoying (except for that McCord guy and that one Australian who can be kind of a snit), the players are almost all nice, and it's fun to watch the different strategies and strengths and weaknesses of the players.  I like Phil, even though I know he's not the most disciplined player.
