Alabama vs. Illegal Immigration [ArthurK]
— Open Blogger

Alabama just won a court battle allowing most of their new immigration law to take effect.

Here's a video and a story. I'd like to get all schadenfreudey on the illegals profiled in the video but it's sad. I have a heart. But I still want them out of the country. Sometimes you gotta do stuff that makes you sad.

On the other hand... if you are heartless this vid is a ball.

Here's a link to the video from ABC. (there's an ad in front). It's 99% one-sided on the feelings but it does get the facts out and lets you know what's going on. So it's a worthwhile watch.

"A crackdown so severe it's been described as the Arizona law on steroids..."

"We talked with one parent who pulled her nephew out of school today anyway. She's undocumented and didn't want to be identified. Tomorrow they're moving to California."

Son of a ...! I guess I'm hoist on by my own petard. Hey aliens, stop at Stuckey's and get me some pecan pie on the way.

And the news story.

"Hispanic students vanish from Alabama schools"

In Montgomery County, more than 200 Hispanic students were absent the morning after the judge's Wednesday ruling. A handful withdrew.

In tiny Albertville, 35 students withdrew in one day. And about 20 students in Shelby County, in suburban Birmingham, either withdrew or told teachers they were leaving.

The question is always asked, "How are you going to remove 12 million undocumented?" Here's an answer - cut off the reasons they come here (jobs (via that online id check) schools)and they'll remove themselves.

Also, I tweet @ComradeArthur

3 > 2 I predict the crackdown will /severely/ injure Alabama's economy. Posted by: Texan Economist That's possible. Now what effect do you think NOT cracking down will have over the next 20 years? Note that when it became difficult to hire illegal aliens to pick tomatoes, that's when picking tomatoes became automated.

5 The economic impact argument is a straw-man. This is supposed to be a civil society that is based on the RULE OF LAW. If we do not have that, then everything else falls apart and we become a tyranny, the soft or hard variety. That's when malignant little fascists like Elizabeth Warren, Bev Perdue and Peter Orszag leap in, to say nothing of what SCOAMF has been doing for the past 3 years. Time to restore the republic or forever suffer the consequences.

6 2 I predict the crackdown will /severely/ injure Alabama's economy. Posted by: Texan Economist at October 01, 2011 05:07 AM (TC/9F) I predict just the opposite; Alabama will SAVE many millions of tax payer dollars by not having to provide services to ILLEGAL NON-CITIZENS. That money, invested and put into the free market economy will pump up the Alabama economy significantly.

7 Alabama will find it's entitlement programs suddenly become more manageable. Funny how that works.

8 I read the unemployment rate in Mexico is much lower than it is here.  They can go back.  As for feeling sorry for them, there are people around the world in far worse shape than they are in, some are starving or being killed.  Some are enslaved.

It is all very sad but obviously there is only so much we can do.  We have taken on millions of people and they now have a better life here.  We also do what we can to help the needy in their home countries.  In the end the law must prevail however.  It does no good to sink the only country that is propping up civilization.

9 Isn't federal aid based on statistics regarding the cost for educating illegals in the US? It's all about the benjamins!

Posted by: Intercontinental Railroad Passenger at October 01, 2011 01:57 AM (0ba8c)

10 Why should anybody feel sorry for the illegals?  If I went to France, for example, and though "Hey, I like it here and I'm just gonna fucking stay" do you think they'd give a rat's ass when they eventually find me and send me packing?  Fuck no; and I wouldn't deserve one ounce of sympathy.  Same here; I'm tired of hearing "Well we can't send them back" which is shorthand for somebody lacking the will to send them back.  A nation that can invent the atomic bomb in the middle of a war sure as hell has the wherewithal to enforce its laws.  It's just that we have a bunch of worthless fucking quislings in our midst.

Yeah and they plan on suing us next

You see what a difference NOT being in the 9th circuit makes.

Yeah and they plan on suing us next

What really pisses me off is that we pay for them suing the States. It used to be unheard of for the federal government to sue the States in a civil action.  What we need is a new law (as soon as we get the Senate) that prohibits the DOJ or anyone in the executive department from initiating ANY civil action against the States unless it involves a contract dispute.

In the meantime the House should defund the DOJ until all the Obamanite crooks beginning at the top are fired.

Well now, for starters how about being fucking born here, and if not,  get in line and do all the shit you're supposed to do to become a legal citizen, like other immigrants who have done it legally. Better yet, go fuck up in some other country and try to get an American embassy to help you without proof you are an American citizen, then you'll find out what citizen means real fucking quick.

18 I live in an agricultural county in Alabama.  We always had migrant workers here during the season but about 15 years ago, suddenly, they didn't migrate.  It was a striking change from one year to the next.  I haven't yet heard whether we have lost students in the local schools but I expect it will be in the news next week if we have.

On the plus side, we now have three really good Mexican restaurants in town.

37 Well, since we have degenerated to corny Alabama redneck jokes, must be time for the "NEWS".

Primary wars are on. Don't expect to see resolution today

I have never liked the way the RNC has set primary dates but what FL has done here is BS.

SC RNC discusses moving dates AND the problems it causes.

This story is plastered all over the papers and political sites. FL did the same shit in 2008 and will likely continue doing this same shit. Perhaps it does illustrate the fact that the RNC really does need to reform the process in a meaningful way instead of the last change they made which is BS. Hell, they made the first 3 primaries “proportional” while keeping the latter ones winner take all. So what is the punishment to one of those early States for moving its primary? Oh you lose half your delegates. Gee, they are already going to be split between 7 candidates so the totals are meaningless anyway. Some punishment eh.

What the RNC needs to do is reward Republican States by having them go first in the primaries. IOW let the States with the most Republican base (based on % R win) have more say in determining who the candidate will be. Also, instead of having a few early States then massive “Super-Tuesday” BS, have it split up more and do 2 or 3 States at a time.

And put some punishment in the rules for States that violate the rules. Remove ALL their delegates and forbid candidates from campaigning in the State.

Not really, just the same ones we put up with every summer. What is funny for me on a personal note having grown up with these little bastards is that they didnÂ’t use to bother me. I could go fishing down in the creeks and swamps and have clouds of them around me with no impact. But after I returned to the South after years of travel I lost my immunity. NRO discusses the $5 debit card fee and why it is being charged

I did not know this, thank you assholes in the press who hide the actions of the communists in congress. I thought this fee was on top of what they were charging merchants and it was designed to offset fees they were losing in other areas from the Piss Dodd – Bwarney Fwank bill. It is not.

Dickhead Durbin had put in an amendment that stopped them from charging merchants the fee (which was a percentage of the purchase). So now the banks will charge the consumer. ItÂ’s the law of consequences. I will no longer call it unintended consequences. The stupid SOBs like Durbin know full well what they are doing.

Once again thank Scott Brown, Susan Collins, and Olympia Snowe for breaking that filibuster and allowing this POS to hit the floor. Of course all of you lying RINO assholes then voted against it so you could make out like you were with the Party. Fuck you all. This is why RINOs do far more damage than just the occasional crossing over and why ACU ratings donÂ’t say it all. Those 3 RINOs will get credit for voting against this POS when they actually enabled the bill and voted for it.

One of my co-workers does a lot of business in Chicago, and the plan, according to a "well to do" Mexican (who may not be legal even after all these years) living in Chicago he knows, is for well-to-do Mexican  immigrants to bring in  more family, friends and acquaintances to work here for 5-10 years and have money to send home, then go home after their families have been able to buy land, and lead a good life in Mexico. This guy has allegedly already bought four farms in Mexico, per my co-worker.

The illegals hurt the economy in two ways:

1) they depress the value of the labor market,as they work for less and frequently are paid in cash, so they don't pay into Social Security, because they don't have SS number (or phony ones at that).  They hurt native Americans at the bottom of the labor market.

2) they take money out of the economy and send it back to Mexico to buy land.  Probably better than the drug trade, which takes a lot of  money out of the economy in the US and sends it back to Mexico to fund more crime, but still a negative.

Plus, their continued long term presence undermines the Rule of Law, because is lessens the respect for law which is the glue which ties the country together.  Poor illegals - lets look the other way while they break the law, because we don't want to seem heartless. Sweet. What kind of country will our kids inherit?  Doesn't matter what happens to our kids, because we can't be mean or heartless to illegals from Mexico.

46 People can bleat and heart bleed all they want, but states have got to take steps to curb illegal immigration when the federal government won't. Do a lot of Mexicans work hard? Sure. Will they in 20-30 years if we allow them to latch on to US entitlements? Doubt it. The South has had massive amounts of illegals move in in the last 20 years. Many work in agriculture or landscaping now, but it is very possible illegal Hispanics in the South will turn out much like those in Los Angeles; gang infested and in a perpetual state of racial conflict with blacks

I suspect, that the reason for having primaries on different dates in different states came about to allow candidates to go from state to state to campaign.. A holdover from the time of slow communications... Before Computers.. Before TV.. Maybe, even before Radio.

54 My best question about illegals is if they come to this country to work, then why are they entitled to food stamps, section 8, aide to children, etc?  If they're not working, it's back to Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Zamunda, etc.

Actually in most States they are not because federal law prohibits welfare to illegals. Where they get around it is that law does not apply to children. And after all those welfare reforms during the Gingrich congress that "eliminated welfare as we know it", the liberals simply moved it all into children services.

So we have welfare out the kazoo, while saying we don't, we prohibit welfare to illegals, while giving it to their "children".

Everything they do in Washington is a huge lie.

Read the story earlier.  If the MSM was really about getting to the bottom of this story, they would ask some questions of wailing liberals that would highlight the contradictions of the liberal positions.

1)  Why are we concerned about jobs for illegals when lots of Americans are out of work?

2)  You want more money for education, so why is it a problem when money spent on children that shouldn't be here is freed up for actual American children?  Also, doesn't this reduce the teacher to student ratio that you are always yammering about?

3)  You clammer for a living wage with benefits, yet are silent when illegals are paid below minimum wage without any benefits.  Why isn't it a good thing that these jobs are now being opened up for people that have to be paid a living wage with benefits?

4)  Wouldn't it hurt all these illegals to make them American citizens or legal aliens because then they would be entitled to minimum wage and benefits and the corporations would turn around and lay them all off so they could hire new illegal aliens that could be paid substandard wages without benefits?

5)  Would you be willing to lose your job so that an illegal alien could do it for less without any benefits? (NYT and many other liberal publications might actually become readable and intelligent with this one)

Right there, you raise liberal incoherence on three of their major issues:  Jobs, living wage, and money for public education

First, multiply each of those kids by roughly $10k.. the amount state and local governments pay to educate them. Then add in all the Medicaid services.. unpaid visits to the ER's around the state, and all the other social services used up by these folks.

People will end up paying more for their lawn service and maybe more for restaurant food, and maybe a lot of other services/products.. but I would take that trade-off any day!

75 It would at least slow down the unlawful traffic in some of the vast, unmonitored areas.

Fences are worthless in unmonitored areas. A fence serves two purposes with regard to security:

1. It keeps honest people out (or in)
2. It acts as a force multiplier for all the rest.

IOW you will need fewer security personnel to enforce a boundary with a fence than without a fence.  However, you STILL will need security personnel.

A fence does make sense in some areas that have high populations on both sides of the border where it would take a LOT of security people, but in the remote areas they cost more than they are worth.

Pretty good... or looking up, anyway.  Hubby had his first doctor appt (for his depression) yesterday and I think it went decently.  He's pretty introverted, so doing this sort of thing is a huge step for him.

Also... and amazingly to me... we are refinancing our mortgage only three months after the first one.  It's zero cost but we're still dropping almost half a percentage point and... miraculously... the house appreciated so we'll lose the PMI.

Make sure to check into yours after you pass the 120 day mark and see if it would make sense for you to refinance.

How's the semester going?

82 I saw this. Cain actually likes a VAT tax. Ugh!

If I understand his plan correctly it is not a VAT. It is a one point sales tax.

But,. I am not for that either. If we are going to screw with the tax system I say repeal all taxes and then institute a flat tax on all income regardless of amount or source.

AND absolutely no deductions or exemptions.

Posted by: Vic at October 01, 2011 04:51 AM (M9Ie6)

83 When you supplement the fence with electronic sensors in the ground, the security people know exactly where to go, right now. I know of two military bases that have this now (and those are just the ones I know about).  If you get too close to the fence a helicopter flies over and has a look. Whatever that costs is cheap in comparison to, oh say, five hundred ER visits in a day in a San Diego hospital.

More propaganda in the link in my name for Vic and anyone else looking for a new bank.

2010, USAA Bank returned the majority of the money it collected from merchants to its members in the form of benefits, such as free checking, ATM fee refunds and debit rewards.

Because the new law will reduce these interchange fees, USAA Bank had to re-evaluate the value of offering debit card rewards and other checking account benefits. ...

"USAA's survey found that members favored free checking and ATM fee refunds over debit card rewards. Based on this feedback, we decided to stop the debit card rewards to maintain the other benefits," Bohne says.

That is great news about your husband.  Yeah I'm an introverted guy myself (can't you tell? ) so yeah it is a huge deal that he is going to get help.

Semester is going okay, it is a lot more work than I had planned on.  I might have structured my courses differently if I had actually thought ahead a little bit.  But I am slowly getting caught up on everything.  Next week they have an exam, which is good for me (one less lecture to prepare for).

That is a great idea about refinancing.  I don't think my house will have appreciated any by that point but I might have enough saved up & paid down to eliminate the PMI by that point.  I am close.  Plus rates are lower now, amazingly.  I got 3.875% on 15 yr fixed and I thought that was a sweet deal.  But then again that was before the downgrade.

94 IRT migrant workers and farming, when I was growing up my parents both worked, so I spent my summers with my grandparents who lived on a farm.  They did not speak much English, but were hard workers.  To supplement their income we worked on other farms picking crops.  Grapes were not bad, but strawberries, cucumbers and potatoes were hard.  They were called "stoop labor", so they paid a little better.  Same with sugar beets and carrots.  We were American, and so were all the other people working the fields.  My only point is that farmers used to be able to manage without foreign workers (my grandparents felt like they were Americans), but I think now farms a lot of time are owned by large conglomerates, rather than families, so that changes the structure of things.  The area where our farm was, for instance, is now owned by Welch's and Vlassic and wineries.

96 I listened to a goddamned discussion of this law on the goddamned public radio news show "Tell Me More." The goddamned host bimbo had a goddamned ACLU lawyer lady and a goddamned Alabama NPR bimbo to talk about it. Some things I noticed:

1.) At no point during the goddamned half hour I listened was the word "illegal" used. They talked about "immigrants" and "hispanics" and "the immigrant community" but a listen from goddamned Mars might think this law was somehow intended to expel foreign-born Americans who have worked hard to become citizens, instead of a bunch of goddamned criminals who are here in violation of Federal law.

2.) I noticed a new dog whistle code word. The goddamned local reporter mentioned that a lot of the support came from the northern part of Alabama, where there are "cultural issues." Apparently that's the new goddamned code phrase for "they're all racists, but I can't actually say that because it's not actually true, but this way my goddamned liberal listeners can nod their heads knowingly and picture a pack of Klansmen attacking poor Mexican kids."

The sheer goddamned dishonesty of this alledged news report galls my goddamned soul. It shows a startling combination of ignorance, arrogance, and contempt.

We need to shut down "public" broadcasting and bury all the equipment and documents at a crossroads with a stake pounded through them.

Actually no, they don't. It's called a manufacturer's exemption and it's present in most state tax codes. And that's as it should be. You want to encourage manufacturing in your state and taxing product at each stage of production would be confiscatory and unnecessarily inflationary, which means a national VAT will probably become law.  DC needs a good marching on.

Cain was for the un-"fair" tax before proposing 9-9-9 rate(s).

Who's done the homework to figure similarities/differences and how the 9-9-9 would be added upon later by Congress, despite the proposal "promises" to prevent add-on tax baggage? And what to make of Cain's evolution from "fair tax" to 9-9-9? He saw the light, and came up with a functional and realistic solution?

Given Bachmann's expertise in the current tax law, the voter would have thought she'd have come up with the "best" new tax rate proposal/platform from her staged campaign.

Any one can say they'll lower taxes in order to improve the economy. Promising to "lower taxes" is meaningless without specifics and without Congressional backing. It isn't as if any candidate alone should be making promises if voters are supposed to "trust" fruition. There should be a Republican Party Leadership platform that all elected officials agree to uphold, a specifically outlined bill that they'll pass given voter '12 turn-out. I'm surprised Newt hasn't already arranged it with the necessary Congressional coalition of voters in his promised "new" contract with America. "Mandate" from the people wasn't the dirty word "mandate" from government or authoritarian is.

If you mean the federal government it was initially financed through tariffs and excise taxes. (see whiskey rebellion)

States did it via property tax and excise taxes. States also raised money via lotteries.

170 Vic, why don't you like the FairTax idea?

It is a HUGE tax increase for most people and it maintains the same defects with regard to "special exemptions" that the old system has.

In additon, for me personally (and all other retirees) it would be a screwing of "epic" proportions. It would literally drive me into bankruptcy on nothing but taxes.

It also depends heavily on a lot of assumptions that are nothing more than wishful thinking regarding "birds in the bush". Things like manufactured prices are going to come down by 25 to 30% because of elimination of corporate taxes and all employees will immediately get a "raise" of 8 to 9% when the withholding taxes are removed on companies.

They also lie about the tax rate. It is actually about 31%. Imagine going to buy a new $400K house and paying a 31% sales tax on it.

There were a whole lot of other things that I don't remember all of the specifics to it, but when I worked out test cases using the current taxes and standard deductions for a family of 4 they did not break even on the system until incomes exceeded 500K.

No, each "poor" person using the gov number for poverty based on number of people in household would receive a monthly check adding into the thousands per year (don't remember the exact number)

I predict higher wages and costs for construction jobs as a labor shortage lowers the unemployment rate in the state. I also predict fewer drugs, drunk driving deaths and that crime rates related to illegals will fall dramatically thereby lowering law enforcement costs in our court and jail systems. It will also be nicer to have less waiting time in ER's as well as having more classroom space available.

At least they are leaving here in droves now.

187 Actually in most States they are not because federal law prohibits welfare to illegals. Where they get around it is that law does not apply to children. And after all those welfare reforms during the Gingrich congress that "eliminated welfare as we know it", the liberals simply moved it all into children services.

I fully expect a massive influx of undocumented immigrants into my home state of Massachusetts where they will discover that they are the undocumented owners of other people's property, undocumented drivers, undocumented sexual partners, undocumented loan holders, undocumented mortgage holders, undocumented firearms carriers, undocumented students, and undocumented voters for the Democrat machine just in time for Red Queen Bitch Warren's election vs. Senator Brown. Springfield, Fitchburg, Lawrence, Lynn, Fall River, New Bedford, Framingham, Boston, Somerville, Revere, Chelsea, Lowell, will all suddenly find themselves with tens of thousand of new 'residents' to break the backs of their police, school, and social service budgets.

Thanks Deval & Coakley!

Supreme court ruled in the 80's that schools must educate the children of illegals (Plyer v. Doe).  Not sure how the Alabama law is squaring with this if they are not allowing illegal children to attend.

Or is it just a fear of identification is causing the parents to withdrawl the children voluntarily?

Not syaing Plyer v. Dow was correct, but i figured it would act as a barrier to the denial of public school benefits to children of illegal immigrants.

195 I'm a public school teacher. I just teach without worrying about who's legal or not. I'm certain I have students here illegally, and if you count "citizens" who were born here to illegal parents the count is higher. Many of these kids are wonderful human beings; however...

Once these illegal students leave, school overcrowding will decrease. Test scores will improve. The need for special services, from tutors, to bilingual/ESL programs, free and reduced lunches, will decrease. The need to write bilingual notices, school bulletins, newsletters, and have translators phone home or make home visits will be lessened. I predict that attendance will improve and truancy will decrease.

Unlike Rick Perry, I must look beyond my feelings for these kids, many of whom are genuinely likable, and consider what is best for my state and the country.

Oregon gives its drivers license examination in 5 languages.

When Oregon finally adopted the REAL ID standards 3 years ago, the number of examinations in all languages remained the same except for the number given in Spanish.  That number dropped by 83%.  As a byproduct, what used to take an hour or more at the DMV now takes 10 to 20 minutes.

197 Ok, I've been tumbling this around in my housewifey brain for quite some time and I figure you folks are just the people to help me settle it. Let's call him Taco. His g'parents brought him up and over to Carolina when he was 2. He was raised as an American and had no idea that he wasn't til he started middle school. He's quite bright and is making his way up the JROTC hierarchy, hoping for BC his senior (next) year. He dreams of being a Ranger. Now, if I round up about 35 thug-wannabe's from that school, can I trade them in for Taco's citizenship and deport them? They are of dubious background, most have been hauled outta class by our city's finest, not a few on several occasions. They are a multi-color, multi-race bunch and are just biding time til they can become even more of a drain on society. Can anybody but me see how such a trade-in could be a good thing? Also, how does one go about implementing such a procedure?

Posted by: middleagedhousewife at October 01, 2011 08:18 AM (2FR7y)

198 @210.... that is what makes the just deport them argument tough.  There are probably a lot of kids like the one you mention.  I think that was the argument behind what our Texas Legislature came up with.  It's not at all easy.  Ideally, the kid will get a chance to prove his worth to the country and someday earn some sort of US citizenship and will prosper.

Posted by: Yip in Texas at October 01, 2011 08:23 AM (Sh+fu)

199 Yip, be kind and tell me what the Tx folks came up with? My sons are either enlisted or military bound (hence the JROTC) and this kid is one they would prefer to work with rather than some kid just milking the system. What did Tx propose?

Posted by: middleagedhousewife at October 01, 2011 08:33 AM (2FR7y)

200 Oh I don't think Texas came up with anything except the college rule, where kids here illegally, but have been here for more than 3 or 4 years and in school, performing in the top % of their class ( good grades) and otherwise qualify for college acceptance, will be eligible for in-state tuition rates at Texas Universities regardless of illegal status.  Everything is the same as far as qualifying except citizenship.

Now, I think there is a program (Federally) that allows for something where an illegal alien kid, like the one you mentioned, can enlist and serve in the Armed forces and after a set amount of service, qualify for citizenship or a green card or something.  I don't know about serving as an officer or anything, (probably not) but I would assume if he could hack it, the Rangers would take him.  It's tough though and the better the kids grades, etc, the better as far as getting in the Army.  Also, no issues with bad checks, debt, or law enforcement encounters beyond misdemeanor traffic tickets, etc.  He probably has to be squeaky-clean.

The problem too is, the Army is trying to downsize.  They always have room for grunts at the bottom, but with the economy like it is, getting in will not be as easy as typing it.  All of the services are fairly tough to get into unless you are squared away.

Posted by: Yip in Texas at October 01, 2011 08:52 AM (Sh+fu)

201 Thx Yip. I'm a;; for throwing back the bad ones but there are some decent kids in the mix, too. I guess the trouble is there's so many that we just have to do something. There's no time to pick and choose and, if there was, who'd write up the criteria? We don't like moochers here at our house, regardless of there color/country of origin and, thru the years, we've come across many who needed to be deported. Only thing, they were born here. There are no easy answers and I'm glad I'm not in charge of coming up with them.

Posted by: middleagedhousewife at October 01, 2011 09:16 AM (2FR7y)

202 It's a tough situation that a generalized policy doesn't address as well as most of us would like.  Now there are thousands of illegals in country who are probably good folks who will contribute to society and their kids, but there are thousands or millions? more who want to milk the system and are encouraged to.

Someday, Mexico should have to get their country working and this would not be near the problem it is and too, we need to stop them at the border from getting here.  Also, stop the welfare state from throwing money at them in the hope that they'll not starve or steal to maintain themselves in the US.

Not a debate that really fits on TV very well.  I wish the kid you mentioned the best... ( also, if he's in ROTC, maybe they can help give him info on serving).

The question is always asked, "How are you going to remove 12 million undocumented?" Here's an answer - cut off the reasons they come here (jobs (via that online id check) schools)and they'll remove themselves.

Too right. What Rick Perry doesn't get, but most real conservatives do, is that subsidizing the schooling of illegal's kids incentivises illegal immigration. The issue has nothing to do with "heart".

Posted by: Speller at October 01, 2011 11:33 AM (J74Py)

210 Why am I supposed to feel sorry for people who brought their kids to this country illegally, live off my tax subsidies and then whine about how "they're humans too."

If I were to cross illegally into Mexico tomorrow, I would not be allowed to register my kids at school, I could not obtain a job and I would be denied even the most basic government services before being deported.

I am sick to death of wealthy, insulated, out-of-touch liberals telling me I have to put up with the increased crime, the lower property values and the overall suckification of my country (especially my home state of California, where I can no longer live and where my parents continue to just barely get by thanks to the stifling taxes) for the sake of "humanity". Mexicans don't come to this country because they are refugees, they come because they know they will get services their own country won't give them...paid for in part by me.

Ah yes, Albertville, Alabama.  Why would 35 students leave school in one day?  Well, one of Albertville's employers is Tyson, as in Tyson chicken.  Chicken processing plants hire a great many illegal immigrants.  Companies like Tyson should be fined for employing these people.  And the fine should be so much that they would never think about hiring illegals again.  I'm sure Tyson is politically connected which is why they get away with such things in the first place.  The people who run companies like Tyson don't care about working conditions or fair wages.  All they care about is their bottom line, more money for them, fuck everybody else.  Well, fuck you Tyson and anyone who thinks like you do.
