— Ace This certainly can't be posted on 9/11, but it must be posted.
This isn't even the first TrutherPop song. I remember another one, two or three years ago, that was very, very curious as to why a building in free fall would fall at nearly the speed of free fall.
Yeah, I don't get this myself: For some reason they find it suspicious that something you'd expect to fall at nearly g does in fact fall at nearly g. And I don't know what the suspicion is supposed to convince me of. Think about it: WTC 7 did in fact fall at nearly g, so is their claim a building can't fall at nearly g?
But I just saw it do that. So even if you think it was an "inside job" or whatever, the fact is, either way, a building does seem capable of falling at nearly g.
It's like claiming that you know Lee Harvey Oswald didn't kill Kennedy, because no man shot in the gut would double over in pain, as he did at his own jail transfer assassination.
But he did double over in pain from a gut-shot, whether he was part of a conspiracy, or just a patsy, or whatever.
This whole "free fall" theory seems to rest upon the assumption that something that plainly did happen couldn't happen, and therefore we should be suspicious that... I don't know. That the government can change the law of gravity in specific locations of the earth?
The level of derangement here is simply extraordinary.

It sounds like something that a scientist played by Jeff Goldblum might say in a bad scifi adventure flick. "We've detected a slight gravitational anomaly."
The actual science doesn't matter much to the script-writers. They just have to get it to sound technical enough so the audience can engage in suspension of disbelief and enjoy the drama.

That doesn't mean that an object will fall at that acceleration rate because there are other forces acting on them. This is usually wind resistance and it causes an object to reach terminal velocity.
Terminal velocity varies from object to object based primarily on shape and density.
Of course, a building collapsing is not in "free fall" so its terminal velocity is dependent on the resistance to collapse.

It's absolutely disgusting that the people who saved the lives of so many and who also lost family and friends were told there was simply no room for them.
"In our darkest hour, they gave us hope—the firefighters of September 11. In the chaos at the World Trade Center, the rigs pulled up, the men climbed out, retrieved their roll-up hoses and marched stalwart to the towers. Carrying nearly a hundred pounds of equipment they climbed the stairs; flight after flight after flight. A woman in the North Tower, descending from the 89th floor said, 'When I saw the firemen I knew we would be all right.'"

I think they initially claimed that a building could not fall at exactly g, as internal resistance to falling would bleed off some acceleration, so it could only fall at CLOSE to g, not g itself.
I've heard it as the towers falling faster than G, and that the only way that could happen is if there were demo charges. yeah....

Steel fails long before it melts. When it is heated it expands, when it does that it shears the connections and fails, it also loses it's strength and starts deflecting. Commercial floors are only designed at 100 lbs. per sq. ft. live load. A building full of people, equipment and furniture gets close but within a safety factor of that. It doesn't take much weakness to cause a failure and parking a 757 on one of the floors adds quite a bit of weight in itself.
The fire can't melt steel bs is crazier than the rest of these idiots claims.

Steel fails long before it melts. When it is heated it expands, when it does that it shears the connections and fails,
Uh....what about elastic deformation? The coefficient of thermal expansion for steel is almost never enough to shear ductile fasteners. The heat will reduce the yeild stregnth to the point of elastic failure of the beams, but it should not cause shearing of the fasteners via thermal expansion.

I think the premise they don't state directly, but they actually believe (or are willing to entertain), is that it was ALL faked, the plane footage too, the witness reports, etc.
When they say things couldn't have happened that obviously did (like WTC 7 collapsing), it does begin to shade into the idea that the video (and witness reports) are simply concocted.
They don't say that, but that's there.
What is their answer for the people inside the Towers who saw the planes crash into the buildings, including the survivors who saw the pieces of the plane?

nice summary
the mind of a person prone to trust/rely on the state grows even more prone because after all if the state did not do this then it means the state is not perfect at maintaining stability and safety when things go right as well.
Troofer and Katrina conspiracy theorists have a simultaneous love/hate relationship with the agent that protects them from the force that is just beyond their ability to reason.
Thus you get people who have blind faith that there has to be a nefarious action by a bad faith actor to undo the work that has held so long, because at the end of the day they don't understand risk analysis well enough to grasp that a 99.97% safe deviation from maximum safety construction or system is still eventually going to fail. Therefore the substandard levee that held back 97% of the water it should for so long must be completely up to specs. Not understanding that even with the flaw it may well have been at 100% safety at 97% load but been at risk for catastrophic failure based on material strength flaws at 98.5% load because the flaws may not result in a linear impact on failure potential. I always respect engineers more than theoretical scientists because engineers have a legal duty to be correct within a certain % of accuracy or face professional doom.
anyway what do we expect we have a generation of kids who know how to deploy a condom...that the science is settled and can't make change for a buck.
Thanks NEA

Since listening or reading detailed reports isn't a trait of leftists or conspiracy nuts, they missed the analysis by structural engineers as to how the buildings collapsed
Being nutjobs, they just assumed that BOOSH was claiming that the structural steel melted. No investigator ever claimed that it did, what the analysts said that the heat warped the steel trusses and the connections to the outer support beams broke.
But why listen to structual engineers, they're in on the conspiracy, right? Only film school dropouts like Dylan Avery have the true answers to what brought the towers down

First, what are the effects of a multi-ton object tearing a hole in a building? Then, what is the heat of ALL of the objects that were burning for some time? Eg: carpeting, drywall, books, computers, flooring, cabling, acoustical tiling, tables, chairs, humans. Don't forget that wind is blowing with great force at the height those planes hit those towers. That wind would stoke the fires to even greater temperatures.
Further, there is a great deal of stress from floors above bearing down on the now weakened building via both gravity and wind blowing against those same floors. Engineers design buildings to stand as a complete unit. Remove large sections and they don't do very well.

well and conspiracies that are real are not often 6,000 man productions with perfect security...
and as you point out the failures are far more mundane....
for example
http://preview.tinyurl.com/dk2cn
Before Hurricane Katrina breached a levee on the New Orleans Industrial Canal, the Army Corps of Engineers had already launched a $748 million construction project at that very location. But the project had nothing to do with flood control. The Corps was building a huge new lock for the canal, an effort to accommodate steadily increasing barge traffic. Except that barge traffic on the canal has been steadily decreasing.
In KatrinaÂ’s wake, Louisiana politicians and other critics have complained about paltry funding for the Army Corps in general and Louisiana projects in particular. But over the five years of President BushÂ’s administration, Louisiana has received far more money for Corps civil works projects than any other state, about $1.9 billion; California was a distant second with less than $1.4 billion, even though its population is more than seven times as large.
Much of that Louisiana money was spent to try to keep low-lying New Orleans dry. But hundreds of millions of dollars have gone to unrelated water projects demanded by the stateÂ’s congressional delegation and approved by the Corps, often after economic analyses that turned out to be inaccurate. Despite a series of independent investigations criticizing Army Corps construction projects as wasteful pork-barrel spending, LouisianaÂ’s representatives have kept bringing home the bacon.
now asking a citizen of the 9th ward to believe that Mary Landrieu the Senator he has been told by his preacher and the TV to vote for to help him keep his apartment that is subsidized may have diverted 175 million dollars to develop a water project for a condo in the 11th ward makes the person nervous....
undermines faith in the system y'see
so of course the answer has to be george bush and Seal team-Omega used UDTs to purposefully turn the 9th ward into a superfund site.
one of the neat qualities about paranoid hysterics is that when there is something that can reasonably be called a "conspiracy" they refuse to see it.
The rumor mill at Fort Polk's base town said forcefully that "everyone knows Mary's daddy sold condos made from money dat was supposed to build dem levees after Camille anyhow"......
Who knows?
I try not to base my sanity on any of the nut theories.

I haven't seen that any of the buildings fell in free fall. You could watch stuff peel off of the buildings and fall faster. If the building was in free fall, the stuff would peel off and just move outwards, but that isn't what happened.
Also, the building 7 troofers are especially moronic since they insist that the building wasn't damaged at all. Sure -- it was missing almost the entire front of the building, but it was not damaged.

Thermite is a composition found in explosives. Well, fireworks, really.

Any building made of steel and aluminum that burns to the ground will result in lots of thermite.

The real issue was that the fire retardant foam on the beams was blown off by the explosion caused by the jet crash. The buildings would not have collapsed as fast if it was a "normal" fire.
Also, escape stairways were blocked by the explosion.

Is the claim that sure, the Twin Towers went down from damage and fire caused by the planes, but the government decided that (in addition to flight 93 and the Pentagon) wasn't quite enough to outrage the public so they felt they had to blow up WTC bldg 7? A building which almost nobody outside of NYC even knew existed before the attacks and didn't result in mass casualties?
One stupid claim I've seen them make is that the FBI had an office there, so they had to destroy the evidence. Really? They had the ability to rig the building with explosives without anyone noticing, but wiping some government hard drives and stealing some files was beyond the capability of the government conspirators?
Understanding their delusions is like trying to comprehend the size of the universe if the universe were made of stupid.

How does a Truther answer this? He wasn't the only one, either, as the story goes on to say:
9:02: South Tower, 81st Floor, Fuji Bank, 57 minutes to collapse
Yes, Stanley Praimnath told the caller from Chicago, he was fine. He had actually evacuated to the lobby of the south tower, but a security guard told him to go back. Now, he was again at his desk at Fuji Bank. "I'm fine," he repeated.
As he would later tell his story, those were his final words before he spotted it.
A gray shape on the horizon. An airplane, flying past the Statue of Liberty. The body of the United Airlines jet grew larger until he could see a red stripe on the fuselage. Then it banked and headed directly toward him.
Another one.
"Lord, you take over!" he remembers yelling, dropping under his
metal desk.
...However the stairway survived, it made all the difference to Stanley Praimnath, who, huddled under his desk, could see a shiny aluminum piece of the plane, lodged in the remains of his door.

The Twin Towers didn't immediately collapse, either. That it took longer for a building that wasn't as badly damaged to collapse isn't "odd".

Posted by: Typical Liberal at September 09, 2011 03:37 PM (FkKjr)
--I agree with you, but was basically happened was (i) some of the debris from one tower hit WTC 7 causing some structural damage to the exterior and spreading flames into several floors; (ii) the fire continued to burn on several floors because the sprinklers didn't effectively work; and (iii) ultimately the fire on a few of those floors caused the collapse because it affected the structural integrity of the building. On a normal day, the sprinklers combined with the Fire Dept would have stopped the fires before the building collapsed.

Stupidity's gone epidemic.
Directing anger towards "truthers" so as to feel better? If you want to ridicule some idiot, stick on Obama's bony ass.
It's easy to join mob mentality group-think if you let yourself, and that criticism applies across the board.
....as if the derangement syndrome doesn't apply to those Americans now who promote the extermination of the entire Afghan population.
Given the 10th year since 9/11/01, consider how we should direct our energies best to prove ourselves "worthy" of the "exceptional" American quality.
If the World Trade Center is to be rebuilt then rebuild it, NOT at taxpayer expense, tyvm.
If a Memorial is to be, leave it a garden with benches. If there's to be a fountain, let it be a neutral shape, a water fall into a collecting pool.
Get over who did it or didn't do it. What's done is done. We can't maintain sanity or American Exceptionalism by scapegoating skeptical fellow citizens including the very 9/11 Commissioners who denounced their report after government official testimony from witnesses called was proven false by White House order. THAT MUCH IS Bush's fault. Paying off Tower victim families $1million to buy their silence officially valued their lives as more important than every other life lost from 9/11 or those previously killed in the Oklahoma City bombing.
The recently declassified photos from 9/11/01 NYC are released and online. Sobering.
Given 9/11 for the tenth time around, look at all the wrongs that we've brought onto ourselves given how abusively authoritarian and horribly corrupt the DHS and TSA and ATF are behaving (not to mention the intelligence community involvement taking down Egypt and promoting al-Qaeda ruling Libya), effectively sabotaging America, compounded by our PC Government policies erasing the Constitution through opportunistic "social-justice", and the foolish PC COIN Military directives frustrating our troops ability to survive let alone win whatever victory that hasn't been determined.
God help us. We're stuck in wars that haven't been declared any more than a clear purpose and strategy for victory and return home have been declared and utilized. "Fighting over there so we don't have to over here" gave us Obama, Janet Napolitano, Eric Holder, Bernanke and the lot of federal thugs ruining our lives here. "Winning the hearts and minds of our enemies" won't work any better at home, in Congress or anywhere abroad, no matter what region of the world. Given the inane stupidity of PC and of COIN, who is impressed by America's ten year response to 9/11?
Given the atrocity of 9/11, President George W. Bush admonished Americans to go about our daily lives. If only our daily lives were now what they were in 2001, law abiding and taxpaying American citizens would not be under attack by our own federal government as we are.
So get off the case of "truthers" or "birthers" of whoever else really bugs you, and use your brain and energy to facilitate the downfall of encroaching authoritarianism. Unless of course you're too cowardly to face down authoritarians, being satisfied or snug as a bug in your own rug, and enjoy schadenfreude more than constitutional victory, preferring to take cheap shots at conservative voters whom you'd rather burn at the stake than have building your own voter coalition numbers to defeat Obama.
It's as if truther-haters prefer to perpetrate more of the establishment's corruption, for whatever reason, to choose "to die on" the hill of least resistance once again, to claim revisionist "victory" that relents to aggression without admitting having fallen for dhimmitude. Vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

1) why risk the firemen who have been emotionally battered by the deaths of dozens of their friends and can help secure the perimeter and analyze the disaster area
or

"The building collapsed because of long-burning fires in its interior, which had started from debris damage caused by the collapse of Tower 1. The fires began as small, single cubicle fires on 10 different floors, and then adjacent cubicles caught fire, superheating offices that then burst into flame.
The density of paper materials in the office building exacerbated the situation. Meanwhile, the water supplies for the buildingÂ’s sprinkler system were eliminated by the collapse of the Twin Towers."
If you listen to accounts by firefighters, they say that they were concerned that WTC 7 was going to collapse and they evacuated the area.

Look Dickwad. I am a welder and also do Oxy-cutting. If you want to, come to my house and I show your ignorant ass how heat, even as low as 600 degrees, applied to a supporting steelbeam over several hours basically turns said steel to mush and it eventually loses all strength and will buckle and collapse, usually taking the structure it supports with it.

Ironically, she was one of the last capital ships armed with torpedos (big brutes) and one theory was that the shell struck these. The resulting explosion defeated her relatively weak deck armor, and caused a chain of explosions. She was slated for a rebuild, which would have included further horizontal armor and AA mounts, and the removal of the torpedo tubes. The outbreak of the war prevented the rebuild.

There are nice little tables that show it. I've got a text book somewhere with one. Of course heat treating can make it more resistant at higher temperatures, but you're not going to be doing that to building materials that won't be seeing extremely high temps.

When the circumstances regarding Obama's birth and Indonesian Muslim citizenship and upbringing were made public, some less educated Americans expressed concerns using "wrong" words, such as the old lady expressing her fear of a potential Obama administration to McCain. She missoke "Arab" instead of Muslim. Another old lady at a Townhall meeting upset because Obama wouldn't produce any birth certificate or passport, angrily said that he doesn't even have a birth certificate. To attack anyone as a "birther" for being concerned with the integrity of the Constitutional requirement that only natural born citizens are eligible to become the POTUS misses the mark by that much.
Leave conspiracies aside. This distortion of the "truther" label doesn't address the false testimony given under oath during the 9/11 Commission hearings. That it didn't take long for the commissioners themselves to repudiate the reliability of their report raises major concerns. The entire 9/11 Commission archive was supposed to already be released on January 2, 2009 following the 2008 elections), conveniently being postponed at least until after the 2012 elections. "We didn't want it to become a political football." [oops] We in Texas experienced a political outrage when a qualified Republican Tea Party candidate was suddenly dismissed out of hand as a "truther" for allowing others their right to skepticism. After all, it is standard procedure for authorities to CYA. No surprise, that's politics. But to allow that lying under oath in order to protect their position happened in the 9/11 commission "makes" one a "truther" to the spitwad brigade.
The National Archives' failure to release the material presents a
hurdle for historians and others seeking to plumb one of the most
dramatic events in modern American history. The 575 cubic feet of records were in large part the basis for the
commission's public report, issued July 22, 2004. The commission,
formally known as the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the
United States, was established by Congress in late 2002 to investigate
the events leading up to the 9/11 attacks, the pre-attack effectiveness
of intelligence agencies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and
the government's emergency response. The commissioners had agreed on the January 2, 2009 date for release so
that the material would not come out until after the 2008 elections. "We
didn't want it to become a political football," he said. In 2004 Commission Chairman Thomas Kean said publicly that he was eager
for most of the records to be released as quickly as possible. In a
Reuters interview last week, Kean said he was not aware until told by
Reuters that only a small portion of the records have since been
unsealed, and Kean saw no justification for withholding most of the
unreleased material. --Reuters, Sept.8, 20011
