Ann Walsh Bradley is a Decidedly Unjust Justice
— Gabriel Malor

The investigative file on the Wisconsin Supreme Court Prosser/Bradley altercation was released last week. It makes clear that this should have been called just the "Bradley altercation." Justice Bradley's claim against Justice Prosser was entirely fictional. She made it up.

Justice Bradley charged at Prosser. Justice Bradley raised her fist to him. Justice Bradley had to be restrained by a third Justice to keep her off of Prosser. All interviewees, including Bradley, told investigators that Prosser's part was simply to raise his hands in self-defense. The so-called "chokehold" that Bradley told the press about (but not the police, notably) never happened.

William Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection has a definitive review of the investigative file. Read it. Bradley apparently had no problem lying to journalists to try and destroy Prosser's career. No doubt she wanted sympathy from credulous partisans after her embarrassing and unprofessional attack on Prosser.

And she's not letting a little thing like the truth stop her now. Jacobson notes:

Bradley has continued to use the theme of workplace safety even after the charges were dropped against Prosser, in this statement she released:

This is and remains an issue of workplace safety.

My focus from the outset has not been one of criminal prosecution, but rather addressing workplace safetyÂ….

I well understand the difficulty of gaining any criminal conviction. The prosecutionÂ’s burden of proof is very heavy, as it should beÂ….

With the potential for prosecution now eliminated, I will renew my efforts to seek the cooperation of my colleagues on the court to resolve this progressive workplace safety issue.

Why, yes, it is a progressive workplace safety issue. It's quite clear that Justice Bradley and her anger management issues are the source of the Wisconsin Supreme Court's progressive risk of physical altercation. Bradley has no self-control and is a danger to her colleagues, her clerks, and her staff. Certainly if I were clerking for her, I'd never let myself be alone in a room with her with the door closed. There's no telling what physical abuses she would resort to. Worse, she has no compunctions about lying about it afterwards.

Prosser's only saving grace was that Bradley lost control in a room crowded with witnesses.

1 She was cagey enough to *not* exactly lie to the police though (and thus get herself charged with a crime).  Funny that the media's not really reporting that bit of information here in WI.  I mean, you'd expect (if they were honest...ha!) them to say, "Her police statement was X, which means that the statements she made to the press were mistaken." or something to that effect (and I'm being generous).

Posted by: Vic at August 30, 2011 03:30 AM (M9Ie6)

3 #2 She could be recalled.  But the problem is that we've just had 8 recall elections here, and people are ready to be done with the constant elections for a while...I don't think it'd go through right now.

She's up for re-election in 2014 I think.

So it's come to this.  The libtard judges can physically attack others without even losing their jobs, let alone being jailed.  What does it take to see some repercussions?  The drawing of blood?  Would even that be enough?

I once joked that Obie could kill people out on the White House lawn and nothing would happen.  Looks like that was no joke...

Don't worry. The state bar will no doubt punish her severely. I'm joking, of course. As a member of the Texas Bar, I know the type and political inclinations of who runs state bar associations. I imagine the Wisconsin Bar is a 1000x worse.

She was smart enough not to lie to the police, which would be a crime. It's no crime to lie to journalists, particularly when they will never question you anyway.

Someone should file a complaint about her with the State Bar, though nothing will come of it. She deserves to be suspended, if not disbarred. Prosser should file a defamation suit, though I don't imagine he will.

11 #6 Things here in WI feel pretty ugly right now.  The lefties are *really* pissed off and throwing some major tantrums right now.  To me it feels like things could become violent with very little prodding.  I hope I'm wrong, but that feels like where things are heading.  It's really not good.
Contributing to this is the failure of law enforcement to do much of anything about the lefties becoming more violent and destroying property...it's pretty worrisome.

Bad bad Walker, bad bad Prosser.

Hahahaha, but seriously,  imagine that this occurs in Wisconsin. Skidmarks Asserman Schultz, Dean, Axelrod must be losing lots of sleep.

15 #14 Oh, law enforcement would jump on anyone doing *that*.  But if you're committing acts of vandalism/violence/intimidation in the name of "workers' rights" then you're A-OK.

Although the Milwaukee County Sheriff seems like he's doing his job...which is a good thing.  And the state patrol seems to be ok, but it's some local PD's that appear to have taken sides.

16 If you haven't read the police report, you can get it at Althouse's blog. (The blogging software is rejecting my attempts to link directly to it, so you'll have to hunt it down yourself on page three or so of her blog). She links to the actual report itself (a PDF of about 70 pages) and gives her own analysis. Very interesting reading indeed, and great ammo for arguing about the incident with people who have read only one-sided accounts. (It's pretty clear from the police report exactly what happened, and there are some stunning gaps in what Justice Bradley says and, more importantly, DOESN'T say. Also of interest is the point where Prosser absolutely refuses to talk to Bradley without witnesses present, for his own protection. Now why would he react that way...?)

24 Funny, I just checked DKos and after weeks of salivating over the prospect of Judge Prosser being frog-marched out of the statehouse in handcuffs, impeached and removed from the bench, and then Scott Walker's fascist teabagging Nazi agenda being reversed by judicial fiat (a theory I never really understood because Walker would have named Proseer's replacement, but hey, these are Kostards we're talking about), they suddenly have nothing to say about this sorry spectacle.

She was going absolutely berserk, swinging wildly, clawing at his face, etc. He looked really uncomfortable as he kept blocking and backing up, but she just would not quit. He looked really miserable when he finally flicked a jab into her snot locker and knocked her down. Now, he used the absolute minimum force necessary to protect himself, but when the cops got there, the first thing they did was cuff him.

I don't know.  I suspect that's slightly less of a danger.  What seems to be likely is that the areas that actually implemented Act 10 (the bill that has all the idiots in an uproar) will do much better, financially and tax-wise.  Those people will see results.  *That's* why the left went all out on attacks right off the bat.  If they give Walker's agenda time to work, and it's successful, they'll be done.  That's why they threw everything they could at Prosser, and it didn't stick.

You could be right though.  I hope not, but you could be.
