I've never looked forward to anything as much as I'm looking forward to next year's presidential election.
In fact, I think it would be good for the country as a whole if everybody in D.C. just took a break from destroying the country and started campaigning now.
Give the chicken a break IYKWIMAITYD.

BTW, turnout in the Republican strongholds in the Holperin recall is good but not great.

Just abbreviate "clusterfuck" to CF. People will still know what it means and if not, well, other people can have fun teaching them the meaning of "CF".

I'm still amazed at the tone of these bus tour campaign stops, the adoring waves from the roadsides, the worshipful demeanor of the "town hall" attendees, and the lack of any protests, shouters, booers, tomato-throwers. They must be running these attendees through a grilling and eyeball surveying like what is seen on the tarmac next to a plane at Tel Aviv International Airport.
You know, I just thought of the reason that these events are staged in these little towns. I live in one just as small, junction of only two state highways, very few ways in and very few ways out, the locals all know everybody, so do the cops, and I'm imagining how much easier it would be to stage an event for political purposes in such a tight little venue, rather than in some big metro area.

You may think it's funny, but Simac isn't close to her needed numbers in GOP areas in SD12, and Wirch is crushing his turnout goals in SD22.
Conventional wisdom had the Dems demoralized with only winning 2 seats last week, but the opposite appears to be the case. They were energized and Republicans stayed home.

Not joking about the results, just the standard commentary on Dem voting practices. It is what it is.
Conventional wisdom had the Dems demoralized with only winning 2 seats last week, but the opposite appears to be the case. They were energized and Republicans stayed home.
GOP already held the senate after the last round. We already got what we needed out of the situation. This week is just about running up the score.

Dems are planning to try and get him to switch parties, and since he often votes with the Dems anyhow, that's not out of the question.

Great idea. And maybe after the initiation and the ritual lobotomy, he can waltz back into the state Senate demanding that union dues be forcibly collected by the state on behalf of the union thugs. 'Cause that's what this is about."
Nobody said the legislation will be overturned. But State Senate control could very well go back to the Dems with the Schultz switch if the GOP doesn't win the Holperin seat tonight.
