— Ace In an email, a blogger mentioned, off-handedly, the idea of "Purple Hearts for Tea Partiers."
I would suggest taking this idea seriously. I would suggest that when Tea Partiers congregate, they wear an armband of a specific color if there has been any assault on them in, say, the past month. I'd suggest Purple for a bruising attack/simple assault (as Tabitha Hale suffered), Red for any attack that draws blood, and black for a truly serious attack, a deadly sort of attack (which may or may not result in actual death).
I'd say that guy getting his fingers bitten off by a nonviolent, peaceful leftist Concern-Fag would be a black attack (and let's hope for no more of those).
The reason for this is simple: The media refuses to report these abuses. But they do love their pictures of Tea Partiers, so they have images of the people they're making snide remarks about.
If enough Tea Partiers adopt a specific sort of code system to demonstrate solidarity with the victims of leftist thuggery, the media will be forced to report it, even in their typical snide, dismissive manner. They will have to explain the presence of Purple or Red or Black armbands and note "They wear these to publicize attacks on them."
Which should make some viewers wonder: "Gee, why didn't the media itself publicize the attacks? I thought incivility was now Public Enemy Number one. Why are these people required to raise awareness of the attacks themselves?"
Oh, the media will have an answer: "Context." Whatever that means, because apparently there are some "contexts" that make an assault on a law-abiding girl non-newsworthy (and perhaps even justified). But at some point, they will have to break down and explain to their audience why so many in a crowd are wearing armbands.
And then the media can go on to explain why the usual rule of If It Bleeds It Leads has somehow stopped applying when someone on the right gets curb-stomped.

Wow. Isn't it sad that this is how little faith we have in our media?
It wouldn't be the first time the MFM/MBM edited pictures in such a way to deprive them of context:
Tea Partiers are Racist, and to prove it, we'll crop out the image of a black man carrying a gun.

Arm bands are never something a political movement can wear, ever again.
Come up with a better marking Ace.
Maybe those neat colored ribbons that mean stuff.

It's painfully obvious to me, Ace, that should this take off, the media will just stop taking pictures of anything but close-ups of signs that they deem to fit the narrative. You'll never see the arm of a TEA-partier again.

I think that's a AP story, so that explains the lack of mentioning his religion. However, they did at least admit to "jihad" being in his blog/journal and such, so that's a step up.
And, in reality, everything I'm hearing about it on the news today says "Terrorist." Terrorist + Jihad = Muslim. It might be nice if they drew the connection more obviously, but I don't actually think its necessary in this one.

I agree that it will probably backfire, as the press will just make insinuations about Nazi armbands when they aren't publishing photoshopped versions of the same.

Ace is making a genuine attempt to surmount the inherent advantage enjoyed by those blessed by the support of the MFM.
Problems:
They got away with ignoring Gold Star mothers on tour while lauding Cindy Sheehan.
They got away with dumping Saint moonbat like a rock
they are getting away with ignoring violence now.
They got away with ignoring burning Sarah Palin in effigy, while with a concerned face reporting allegations of Obama being burned in effigy.
The Washington freakin' Post published a book review that openly stated that the reviewer hadn't even bothered to complete reading the book.
This advantage is serious, ingrained, and will take decades to kill, though inroads have been made. And I fear that this inherent advantage is what is in the minds to Republicans who are interested in being seen as anything other than a "fire-brand".

The problem is that in towns with "blue" administrations, which is any town with a population > 30K leftest activity is condoned and winked at. This is just as bad as any "redneck" town in the evil South that winked at blacks being beaten and intimidated.
As I said in the previous thread, we need to give the authorities a chance to enforce the law first. When that doesn't work we need to start having our own goons beat the crap out of their goons.

If prosecutions were forthcoming, I'd agree with you.
My point, in the earlier thread, about "this didn't happen in Texas," was partially about the fact they know where they can get away with it. They know where the police will be on their side, at least tacitly, and let things go with "it's a regrettable situation..."
It would help if the assaultees would actually press charges, and then sue the city if charges get dropped ("It's all on tape. I gave you a copy, but I can make more since you obviously lost yours. What more do you want?") But they don't. I don't know if that's because they think they won't get a fair hearing, or out of a desire to be "fair" or what, but that's the way it is.

No no no no no no no!
First, it's displaying victim status (literally) almost like wearing a medal for it.
Second, it's never a good idea to point out who suffered violent attacks. It's unethical, sometimes it's illegal, but the main reason is that you're setting them up for future attacks. (In this case, they'd be setting themselves up.)
Third, the media still won't have to report anything. If they can't ignore these visuals, they can make something up, or say the Tea Patriers are making something up, or something.
Then, the Left will try to do the same thing -- but by this time, it will be a good idea. Can you imagine if people wore color-coded baseball hats with every handicap, disability, trauma or trait that entitles them out for special treatment? I know that's not what you're suggesting, but that's where it would be headed.)

Holsters. Strapped to the thigh, Old-West-style.
A non-leather (empty) holster worn at a tea party means you're a regular tea-partier.
A brown (empty) leather holster means that you have personally witnessed politically-motivated violence against another tea-partier.
A black (empty) leather holster means that you have been the victim of politically-motivated violence yourself.
A gun in any of the above holsters means the shit has hit the fan.

Whatever that means, because apparently there are some "contexts" that make an assault on a law-abiding girl non-newsworthy (and perhaps even justified).
Yeah, sharia law, you dirty RethugliKKKans. Sheesh, she wasn't veiled, and she wasn't escorted by male kin, so she got what she deserved. Hell, she should be lucky they didn't rape and stone her on the spot.
That would have been sweet union sharia justice, baybeee!
(so did I hit enough moonbat catch phrase?)

You have either a very poetic definition of "curb-stomping" going on, or some truly devastating drugs in your bloodstream - or both. By the way, good job omitting the trivial detail about the infamous atrocity of that poor helpless Patriot with the missing digit: he just happened to be punching his assailant's face in at the time. Also, please try to remember that "the media" includes me & thee in the age of Teh Interwebs, & that it's literally no longer possible for it to "refuse to report" ANYTHING any more. Censorship is looking more & more like the passenger pigeon of the 21st Century, a trend that's causing the usual suspects to suffer a quite predictable (& hilariously futile) spasm of chronic butthurt.
I'd bet every dime in my wallet that if/when a Tea Party Warrior eventually gets killed at an event it's going to be either themselves or another Tea Party Warrior that helps them shuffle off the mortal coil (unless they're stupid enough to pull heat on a cop) - because many of those folks have a real chubby on for their guns, & oddly enough, folks with constant proximity to guns tend to wind up being killed by them ... a lot ... & nearly always with their own gun.
A+++++ WOULD ROTFLMAO AGAIN
