Boston Police Department Website Hacked By Occupy Boston Sympathizers
— andy

Up-twinkles for felonies:

A Boston Police Department website was hacked.

The group claiming responsibility said they support the Occupy Boston movement.

Boston Police are warning some of their members that user names and passwords were compromised.

...

The group claimed they took aim at the Boston Police for their unprovoked brutality.

In a statement “Anonymous” said, “…future acts of aggression against our movements will be met with a vengeance…”

Also this:

Also on Saturday night, 21 acts of vandalism and graffiti were being investigated by Boston Police on buildings in downtown Boston.

Remember, they're just like the tea party.

Carbon. Copy.

Except for the accompanying foul stench and crime wave, that is.

Billy Ray Valentine, Capricorn, has a helpful tip for the Boston PD below the fold:

Apologies to Dave for pushing down his baseball *yawn* liveblog.

And one by one dropped the moron in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his last comment. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Dead Thread held illimitable dominion over all.

31 Speaking of Mass, Progressives are over halfway to eliminating the electoral college thanks to the NPV Compact put forward by Obama. "Plan for 2012 (& Permanent) White House control by progressives happening now Called the “National Popular Vote Compact” this movement has been in the works nationwide – without public attention – on a state-by-state level since at least 2008. Like other surreptitious actions against the U.S. Constitution, the NPVC “movement” has several promotional websites claiming to represent “true democracy.” The NPVC is a bill now moving state-by-state to make the popular vote winner President by bypassing normal requirements to amend the Constitution. Tts outcome would ensure the Presidency would be declared by giving all the required 270 Electoral Votes needed for a “winner” to the candidate who wins the largest number of popular votes nationally – no matter how small the win margin and no difference how many states voted to oppose him. I'm posting everywhere because I haven't heard this news anywhere even though something this major is already halfway done. http://preview.tinyurl.com/3k9msn6

No water cannons.  They'd scream brutality and the media would lap it up.  I'd settle for a simple little lawn sprinkler.  Imagine them screaming brutality and comparing themselves to the freedom riders when it's just a little bitty lawn sprinkler on them in the background.  It'd be hilarious.

Honestly though, I'm cool with them being out there.  The locals hate them, the college students are learning a real lesson in civics and rule of law.  I just want the media to give them more airtime with interviews.  No more of this crap of sending a reporting out there to stand in front of them saying "they wan't to increase teacher pay", start getting the actual people involved to say what they want so we can hear them line up a good rant on whatever fancies them.

More speech is definately the answer.

49 #40 the area they are camping on is a concrete block plaza normally used to host farmer's markets and other small events during lunch and evening commute hours. The back side of the has a small amount of grass and trees. There's one left over support from the old elevated expressway on display and a moderately sized vent building for the Central Artery Tunnel smack dab in the middle.

71 56 50 "National popular vote is a joke." You are right, it is absolutely unconstitutional, and it would give the voting process over to the dependent underclasses in the big cities, which by hook or crook votes largely Democrat. Sure, it could go to court as being unconstitutional, but in the meantime we don't have a president, or the current president remains until the issue resolves itself. It seems like this is the plan to keep O in office, because he seems largely unconcerned about his numbers, which appear to indicate the majority of the population no longer want him in office. What if he wins the popular vote and stays in office? Does anyone think the courts will really vote him out? http://preview.tinyurl.com/3k9msn6

108 They've been doing this for awhile.

Texas cops, normally charged with helping people who fall prey to crime, became victims themselves when their e-mails were hacked, according to an online civil disobedience group.

More than two dozen state law enforcement agencies had their e-mail accounts hacked, the group known as Anonymous claimed. The hack job was supposedly in retaliation for arrests of its supporters and what it sees as harassment of immigrants by authorities in the state.

The group appeared to briefly take over the website of the Texas Police Chiefs Association on Thursday, replacing its home page with one that listed police departments and officials whose e-mail accounts Anonymous said had been hacked.

The group posted a statement on the police website saying it was "attacking Texas law enforcement" because of arrests of its supporters and what the group sees as harassment of immigrants by authorities in the state.

bad formatting, and I'm too drunk lazy to do tinyurl, but Anonymous last month hacked into Texas leo emails because they don't like how the cops are cracking down on illegal immigrants.

123 71 56 50 "National popular vote is a joke." You are right, it is absolutely unconstitutional, and it would give the voting process over to the dependent underclasses in the big cities, which by hook or crook votes largely Democrat.

Posted by: xamn at October 22, 2011 09:18 PM (kN53A)

It is constitutional. It is no different than state legislatures deciding to apportion their EV's based on congressional districts.

Article 2 of the Constitution says: "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector."

Of course this new law will only stick around until a Republican wins the popular vote and Vermont, Mass, Conn, NY, Cal, RI, Delaware, and DC have to vote for the GOP.

We tried here in Kaliphornia. The Dems realized that it would throw half the EVs to the GOP, and maybe 1 or 2 to the "third parties" and said "No way, dude."

The point of NPV from a lefty standpoint is the opportunity for chaos, to create a crisis. Read the compact and try to find a dispute resolution provision.

NPV by state contract may not be unconstitutional. While it is the typical lefty tactic to operate by stealth and avoid that tedious constitutional amendment process, my recollection is that there is a provision in the Constitution for the states to enter into interstate compacts. The legal issue is whether this type of agreement requires Congressional approval. Some compacts do not. My understanding is there is no Supreme Court decision and it is not a slam dunk for either side of the argument.

The compact does not need all 50 states to agree for it to be effective. The point is that all the signatories legally bind their electors to cast their ballots for the winner of the national popular vote without regard to the votes in their own state. I do not know the probability, but it is possible for a state voting red to have its votes count for blue after Cali and Ill  find an extra 100k votes for the democrat and turning the tide in a close race.

Whatever you think about a national popular vote, this is a bullshit way to get it. Its way under the radar.
