Breitbart Twitter Tease: "#Weinergate taking new turn tomorrow in AM."
— Ace

Pretty cocky.

Gingerly, Gingerly: The DC joins me in my "befuddlement" that Ginger Lee got all excited about a DM from Weiner that Weiner claims was just "See AnthonyWeiner.com."

Patterico gives a shout-out on that.

Just doing a little backfilling.

10 Has Breitbart gotten into it with Stranahan at all like you have ace or has he just sort of let that go and not debated any of his focusing on PatriotUSA?  And could that actually be the turn Breitbart means?

Breitbart stole a nuclear weapon from an Eastern European country formerly part of the Soviet bloc with the help of a corrupt general, and threatened to detonate it in a major US city unless Weiner posted a boner shot.

30 I always thought it was odd that Clinton married him and his wife.  I wondered what authority Clinton had to perform a marriage and then I thought to myself, "it's not a marriage performed by a religious figure, in his case I think a rabbi, so maybe it was done that way so in the eyes of judaism, he isn't really married and can marry again when this one breaks up.

36 I keep getting the "boys will be boys" vibe about this from all the libs/dems I know.  Then I hit them with the guy who had to resign and they say "well, that's his fault, he was stupid, he shouldn't have resigned".  they seem to have an answer for everything.

Was discussing taxes today with a couple of people and they seem to think it's perfectly fine for guys like timmaaay and charlie not to pay their taxes "if they can get away with it, cause no one wants to pay taxes".   They don't see the immorality of their actions or the fact that it's unfair.  I said to someone today that I think they are looking to see if your are a republican and then going over your taxes with a fine toothed comb.  It seems a lot of my friends' parents are republicans and they are all being hit with "extra taxes" and audits.   Haven't heard this from my friends whose parents are dems and some of them are way wealthier than the republican parents.

Even a one-eyed observer must have throbbing questions after Weiner's attempts to massage the story with limp excuses.  Breitbart to unleash hard evidence that could help to exploit an opening for the GOP and possibly result in a happy ending for his competetors in the NYC mayoral campaign.

47 I mean seriously, the more I think about the parents-daughter-Ginger Lee thing, the worse it gets.  This means one of two things:

1) It's true.  If so, this is a seriously f-ed up family, and these people's awesome parenting skills have produced a high school student who thinks that exchanging sexually charged tweets WITH A MARRIED PERSON IN LINE FOR THE PRESIDENCY is just marvelous.

2)  It's false.  If so, Weiner's people wrote it for them, which means the coverup/PR spinning is in truly high gear... which means there's a shitload to hide.

Ace, et al

Check out  the story up over at Doug Ross Journal.  Apparently Weasel Zippers is reporting TweetCongress.org captures congressional tweets and captured Weiners tweets inclusive of the one containing the errarnt photo.  And this is important because Tweet Congress.org shows that all of Congressman Weiner's tweets during the subject timeline were transmitted using TweetDeck - an Adobe Desktop application that links social sites.

54 "Weiner, a likely 2009 mayoral candidate, is literally pouring his heart into Clinton's White House bid, the Daily News of New York reported."
"Weiner is a friend of actor Ben Affleck, whom he met while Affleck was researching this role for the film State of Play, in 2008. "We got into a chest-to-chest shouting match over Obama–Clinton within about four minutes. Literally, people were outside the office wondering if they should go in and separate us," Weiner has said about one of their first encounters."
"Additionally, at the time of the report, about half of Congressman WeinerÂ’s staff had been in his employ for less than a year and since early 2007, he had gone through three chiefs of staff."

"Clean Money," "Big Tears," "Hoover Factory," "Tiny Steps," "(I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea" (which was an album track and major single off of This Year's Model in the UK), and the slow ballady version of "Clowntime Is Over" are all incredible.

Trust me, Pixies, I'm a pretty big fan of you guys as well.  Shame you had to burn out a bit after Doolittle, though.

Up until that point, though?  Holy shit, pure dynamite.

108 The sex addiction thing is pretty much his only option at this point.  Brazening it out isn't going to keep him going forever.

109 Since cranky Vic will soon be awake and posting OT I'm gonna beat him with the first feelgood news of the day:

IDF: Protesters caused their own deaths

Probe of 'Naksa Day' events reveals Syrian protesters ignited minefields, threw firebombs without preparing extinguishers. IDF called three ceasefires to allow Red Cross to evacuate wounded, but protesters used this to gain ground

110 Thanks for the praise!  I'd link to Gigantic but that would be way off topic.

Not bad for a few intuitive tweaks. Maybe I'll learn Ace's HTML editor someday.

127 You have to acknowledge Weiner's political skill.  Unlike some assertions, if he admits this, he is toast.  He's not Bill Clinton.

Except that he knows the core of the Democratic activists will stick with him through ANY conduct scandal, as long as he keeps them mollified with policy.  In that respect they are alike, and could survive with their implausible denials.  By the time they are forced to admit they are lying, their base will proclaim it "old news" and unworthy of remark.

Their constituents just don't care, so why should they?

128 To those of you who think that the Weiner roast is going to chase him out of office; never. going. to happen.

It is impossible to shame Democrats for all the same reason that it is impossible to shame the Devil; things without souls can't be shamed.

Ted Kennedy actually killed someone and he stayed in office.  Do you think the fact that some Weenie got caught with his pants down is going to run him out of town?

No number of pictures of Demoncrats in their Underoos would ever chase any of them out of power. Only if Weiner is convicted of felonies is he in any actual difficulty. The best that can be hoped for is that Weinergate will eliminate him as a future presidential candidate. Considering who we currently have as president - even that is not a lock.

I can assure you that John Edwards is plotting his course for getting back into the political scene even as we write here. "OK cheating on dying wife looses me some votes - but my smile and good looks win those back. We'll need to work around the whole convicted felon angle but..."
