Bunnies Killing Cat Terrorists
— Ace

A video called "Cat Shit One." A bloody, realistic CGI animation featuring bunnies who blow cats away.

They're releasing the first episode for free on the internet, but they also want you to know if you really like it you can buy the DVD or Blu-Ray.

Pretty good. I like the shot of a bunny casually putting one into the head of an already-downed cat.

On the subject of odd videos: a local newswoman seemed to be struck by some kind of speech-gibberishing brain malfunction while on camera. I specifically want to say I'm not making fun of this woman, but it's so odd I can't not link it.

Confirmed? Stroke? The online written reports speculate it was a stroke (or a mini-stroke), but commenters seem to have more than that, and say it was a stroke and she's in the hospital now.

Thanks to DrewM.

19 Actually, as I understand it, Scott Adams used to have something like this: he had (has, really) a serious disorder where his speech just didn't come out right.  IIRC he described it as some kind of "verbal dyslexia."  His blog post that I read mentioned "sudden onset"  among other things, so that's a possibility here.

He seems to have "self-cured" by doing sing-song rhymes before attempting to speak.

But, I'm going on record as "Drunk.  Or mini-stroke."

Trivia:  the US is represented by rabbits because "USA GI" or usagi is Japanese for rabbit.

61 Perhaps this will help people to recognize when a friend or loved one is having a stroke. You can see the right side (left in the picture) start to tighten (note the more pronounced "dimple") as her speech descended into jibberish.  It looks like she might even recognize that something is happening because you can almost pick up on a sense of distress.  Very scary stuff. My father-in-law went through an episode like that (he was 79) while having breakfast with his wife, and passed away about a week later.

Someone close to me had a stroke, and his words started coming out like that -- only more like the muppet's Swedish chef --  but he thought he was talking fine.  Took him months (years really) to fully recover his speech and writing, but he did.  He still has some minor cognitive deficits, but had an amazing recovery when you know where he started.  Gives me great hope for Gabby Giffords full recovery!

Posted by: starboardhelm at February 14, 2011 10:47 AM (ctMcG)

71 She's holding the mic in her right hand, implying that she is right-handed. This would put her language centers in her left cerebral hemisphere, and she is saying things that appear to make sense to her but not us, also known as expressive dysphasia. She understood the prompt to talk, but we could not understand what she was saying, other than 'very'. Looks like she had a touch of left-sided facial droop as well, which would match a left-hemisphere cerebral event. TIA vs. stroke at this point. On to CT and MRI for the answers.

Posted by: Darren at February 14, 2011 10:52 AM (GOkCF)

72 i would venture to say that it was a seizure. My mother in law had a brain aneurysm 13 years ago, and after her surgery would get seizures from time to time. She would appear to be drunk, slurring her speech, then would "zone out" or start speaking gibberish. Quite scary.

74 Clear-cut case of alien clone inflation.  You wouldn't think you'd run into that particular name all that often, at least outside Missouri resort country. But use of a commonly accepted search engine reveals another of the same name assisting the dean of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and yet another, a nun for Christ's sake, head of Catholic Charities.

When they ran off the batch, this one sure drew short straw huh.
Yes, her TV station claims she's fine now. And they would know, how?

Posted by: comatus at February 14, 2011 11:30 AM (W5ilH)

75 Without seeing more videos of her its hard to say if she was experiencing a facial spasm related to a seizure/stroke or if she normally talks favoring one side of the mouth over the other.

for example-
People from the SF bay area may remember Elaine Corral - a veteran newscaster and co-anchor for KTVU 2.  Elaine favored one side of her mouth when speaking but after many years of therapy she was able to control that specific facial expression to a great extent.

*May have been Elaine's sister Rebecca.

80 Chi-Town, it was originally in Japanese and released for free on the director's website to gauge if they were going to make more eps for commercial distribution.  I've had the fansubbed version since July of last year.

Yeah, as has already been pointed out, the badguys in this one are cammels.  It's based on a manga where each country is represented by a different animal.  In this case Afghans = cammels, Americans = rabbits (because of the already mentioned USA G.I. pun), and if I recall correctly the Chinese = pandas, French = pigs, Vietnamese = cats and the Brits = rats.  There's two manga series that I know of: Vietnam, where they're all part of a recon team, and one that takes place in the 80's through some of the stuff happening then like Afghanistan, where they're Delta and attached to SAS.  They're apparently PMC now in the animated show.

It's serialized in the U.S. as Apocalypse Meow, for those that might be interested.

87 1) Dysphasia, acute, probably something like a stroke. "Stroke" is a generic term and covers a wide variety of effects and severities, a lot of people have them and never know it. It must have been scary.

2) Cat Shit One is pretty cool, they went to some effort to make the heroes' actions kind of realistic (especially the motions) but also over-the-top heroic. Cool.

3) I don't know what everybody is upset about, we've come to expect (here at moron HQ) loose shit like people mistaking camels for cats.

Posted by: Merovign, Bond Villain at February 14, 2011 03:47 PM (bxiXv)

88 Huh. The dubbing is different from the subtitles on the original (at least toward the beginning), and worse (in terms of making sense or being dramatic).

Posted by: Merovign, Bond Villain at February 14, 2011 03:49 PM (bxiXv)

89 Also there were little errors in Cat Shit One. Packy's rifle was clearly not a Galil but it had AK-style .223 magazines, and the magwell was truncated. Botasky's rifle was an M14 with magazines that were too small (and he fired about 30-35 rounds without changing the 20rd magazine). The screw-on silencer had nothing to screw onto, the pistol's shroud was as long as the barrel.

I do want a Packy T-shirt, though. Dude kicks camel.

I also hate the Hollywood convention of the guy who panics in combat. It's a freaking special ops team, you don't put people who panic on those. Stop following that convention, people, it's boring and stupid.

Somebody complained a while ago about the MI-24 helicopter - the Afghans field a few of those as "M-35s".

Posted by: Merovign, Bond Villain at February 14, 2011 04:48 PM (bxiXv)

90 Merovign, Packy's rifle is a Knights Armaments SR-47; which is an AR15 family rifle modified to fire 7.62 Soviet out of an AK magazine instead of 5.56x45mm NATO.  They're special order/prototype and only really used by some PMCs and special forces so they can pick up mags off dead badguys.

From what I understand, at least based on the subtitled version, they're PMC guys in this and Botasky is a newbie (also why he had like 20 attachments on his M14 because it looks cool, which Packy gives him shit for).

The bird looks like a Super Hind to me.  They never really address it in detail, but the jap sub, it's implied it's from the PMC they're working for or a cooperating one; and they sound like they're speaking a different language from everyone else (Russian maybe?).

91 Kinda lame if you ask me. I was actually expecting cats since they have the most personality of any animal ever. Would make for a very cool video. Like the russian ninja from Cats and Dogs. But no. Idiotic, generic camels. Whatever.
