Carol Mosely Braun: Elect Me, I Have Advanced Degrees From Harvard
— Ace

It's an annoying credentialist argument in the first place.

But, in the second place, it's also completely untrue, as this Harvard Crimson article notes (but then spins that she has "some connection" to Harvard).

In fact Mosely Braun never attended Harvard as a student in any capacity and holds no degrees from there, advanced or basic. She was a "visiting fellow at HarvardÂ’s Institute of Politics in 2007." Which means, um, nothing.

This story came out last week; no one in the MFM noted it. Compare and contrast to Christine O'Donnell's erroneous LinkedIn page.

A page, it was noted at the time, that required users to select from only a small number of pull-down menu options and so could not differentiate between this sort of thing -- visiting as some kind of celebrity "fellow" -- and actual enrollment at the school.

Mosely Braun wasn't so hampered by limited technology when speaking. She claimed she had advanced degrees plural from a school she never attended. And then, later in a show, when a caller specifically praised her Harvard education, she just thanked the man for the compliment.

But no interest from the MFM. Gee, you'd almost think they were employing some kind of double-standard or something.

Thanks to Brother Bewapitis.

6 Whether she has the degree(s) from Harvard or not is beside the point. She knows damn well that had she applied to attend there, she would have slid through with ease to get those degrees with almost no effort, thanks to affirmative action guidelines.

The numbskull currently in the White House, Preznint Woof-Splutnik, makes my case.

12 Part of me will really enjoy the total catastrophe that would be a Mosley Braun administration. Chicago has it coming, simply for being the uncomplaining host to Obama (pbuh) Reverend Wright, The Nation of Islam, etc.

But I have friends in Chicago, so part of me wants Rahm Emanuel to be able to run and win. His administration will be slightly less dysfunctional, and less amusing too.

Number one on the list of things I defy anyone to do:

Differentiate a Harvard education from that from any of 100 or so other schools in the country.

Also, the thought of this woman being mayor of Chicago is just too funny to pass up.

The Maryland fake army intelligence colonel paid by the FBI et al. as an expert foreign intelligence consultant --  at least he's been exposed. But will he actually be successfully prosecuted, or charges dismissed as with those skallywags flaunting Stolen Valor at political banquets? After all, how reliable are the FBI when they fail to research their own consultants prior to hiring? To be swept under the rug asap.

Given "social justice" Carol Mosely Braun would be awarded for her fraud because she's entitled to be dishonest. Does anyone else anticipate honorary degrees coming her way from Hahvahrd?

Unfortunately, Illinois does not have a ballot slot for "None of the above" so one of these clowns will be the next mayor.

Rahm will be the most ruthlessly efficient at getting his way.  Whether what he wants will be good for the city, its citizens, or the state is irrelevant.  He clearly has not lived in the city for over two years, the municipal code states that a candidate for mayor must reside in the city, and he pushes on with his candidacy.

If he stays on the ballot and wins, it will be interesting to see if city works (cops, firemen, teachers, streets & san guys, etc.) will start challenging their requirement to reside in the city.  Why can't 10 or 15 cops rent an apt together and split the rent?  Each of them needs to keep some "treasured belonging" in the apt, boxed up in the crawlspace.  Voila!  They live in the city but are free to have another residence someplace else, someplace with good schools and a safe, middle class lifestyle for their kids.

71 People forget that good ole CMB was caught in a welfare fraud investigation while she was running for the Senate the first time.  There were allegations that she and her mother were scamming welfare and then using the money to take a trip to Africa.  She fought a delaying action until the press got tired of it and the charges quietly faded away about the time she was elected.
